Our Friday lunchtime analysis of the PlayON Player Price List arrives once again, as the minutes tick down until another deadline. As always, we offer a couple of picks per position: one essential weekend target and a left-field alternative for your consideration.

PlayON have extended their deadline for submitting teams so you can now tinker with your starting XI right up until the first kick-off each week – tomorrow that’s 12.45pm, when West Ham and Palace get the Gameweek underway at Upton Park.

This week there is over £1,500 in Guaranteed Pots and £300 in Free Entry Pots on offer at PlayON – check out the games here.

Goalkeepers – Adrian
The Spaniard was the top scoring goalkeeper last week and accrued an impressive 1925 PlayON points despite conceding two goals to Spurs. That tally included six saves (worth 200pts each) bringing his total to 25 stops over five matches. Priced at 7.1m, Adrian faces a Crystal Palace side short on strikers and even if the Eagles do score, the 9%-owned Hammers keeper appears likely to balance the bring home the save points. David De Gea (8.0m) is our other pick in goal this week as Man United welcome a Sunderland side that have scored just once in three league outings. With no injuries in defence, Louis van Gaal’s back-four is perhaps a little difficult to second-guess, leaving De Gea – who is owned by 24% of PlayON managers – a safer option for those looking to invest in the Red Devils’ rearguard.

Defenders – Daryl Janmaat
Having suffered a demoralising 5-0 loss at Man City last weekend, Newcastle will be desperate to bounce back as struggling Aston Villa pay visit. Janmaat has already assisted six times this season – only Leighton Baines has managed more amongst defenders – and, having recovered from a slight groin injury, is available for just 7.0m this weekend. John Carver’s side have just one clean sheet in 14 but bearing in mind that Villa have failed to score in each of their last six road trips, Janmaat, with a mere 8% ownership, is a perfect left-field pick. Laurent Koscielny has produced two goals and as many clean sheets in Arsenal’s last three home league matches. Setting you back 8.4m, the in-form Frenchman (12% ownership) offers a decent shout for points at both ends of the pitch against a visiting Everton side that have failed to score in three of the last five Gameweeks.

Midfielders – Victor Moses
Prior to Stoke’s 4-1 defeat to Man City in their previous home match, Mark Hughes’ side had notched six goals in three at the Britannia and will expect to get back to winning ways as Hull roll up this weekend. Coming in at 7.8m and owned by 26% of PlayON managers, Moses scored his second of the season from the spot in the 2-1 win over Aston Villa last Saturday and his strong underlying stats bode well for further returns. Man United have scored 19 goals in nine matches at Old Trafford since Angel Di Maria (29% ownership) last netted in the league in November. The 13.3m-priced winger has provided a steady supply of assists, though, creating four goals in as many matches, and his total of 10 attempts on goal over that period suggests his goal drought could be coming to an end as Sunderland roll up to Old Trafford.

Forwards – Diafra Sakho
A goal against Spurs last Sunday was the West Ham forward’s first since New Year’s Day. Sakho’s strike took his tally to eight for the campaign and with a home clash against Crystal Palace up next, the Senegal international will be looking to reprise the form that saw him net in five successive matches in the autumn. With Andy Carroll out for the season and Enner Valencia failing to score since November, Sakho – who costs 8.5m and currently sits in 11% of PlayON teams – will fancy his chances against a defence that has managed just one clean sheet in six under new boss Alan Pardew. We almost went for Olivier Giroud as our essential forward but after a misfiring display at the Emirates on Wednesday we’ve turned to Sergio Aguero once again. The 29%-owned Argentine’s midweek consolation against Barcelona was his fourth in three appearances and a trip to Liverpool promises goals, with a total of 20 scored in the last five league clashes between these sides. Available for 15.0m, Aguero has the most shots (90) of any player in the league to date and has already breached the Reds’ backline, after netting in the 3-1 Etihad win over Brendan Rodgers’ side earlier in the season.

Head over to www.PlayON.co now to get your teams in for the Free Entry games and the £1,500 in Guaranteed Pots.

    Hi guys

A quick question ... will both Oscar and Eriksen drop tonite?

I want to do Oscar -> Eriksen for this week FT to set myself up for next week. But for next week (planning to bring in Austin & Rose), I'm 0.1 short.

If Oscar doesn't drop but Eriksen does, then I will have just enough for next week's transfers.

    Help!

Think I'm willing to risk Hutton and PVA transferring one of them is ultimately going to gain me 2 points so I'm better off having the 2 FT's for the DGW. Does that sound reasonable?

I have both these guys and am saving a transfer.

I've earmarked Walcott's spot for Eriksen next week. So anyone in for one week only will mean that's -4 and I don't feel like gambling on someone getting more than 4pts plus whatever Walcott gets in the event he either starts or comes on.

      1. coran2123
        • 13 Years

Shame that every other Arsenal attacker is on top form, Walcott gets the job done as you say

Unfortunately I'm not keen on getting Austin for the DGW and already have Lloris and Kane in my team, so I only need 1FT for Eriksen next week..

  7. Jay_

Took a -8 to get this team this week

    DDG
    Clyne Bertrand Bellerin Naughton
    Moses Sanchez Mane Boyd
    Aguero Giroud
    (Hamer Kane Hazard Ivan)

The hit was PVA Oscar RVP> Bertrand Mane Giroud

I like it seeing as you you're well set up for the double gameweek - where lots will be taking 4/8 next week instead. So you've just done it a bit early and will have a much stronger side this week than most.

      1. Jay_

Yep , got 4.2 itb for any midfielder to Eriksen, may just do Boyd and keep Moses as a 5th

    A Giroud to Austin

      I'd go C (Walters). Worst case scenario(ish) you're down -2

Planning on saving a FT with this..

    Krul

    Bruce PVA Bertrand Wollscheid

    Walters Sanchez Boyd Walcott

    Aguero (c) Defoe

Would I be advised to make a FT or even take a hit? My plan for next week is PVA, Walcott & Defoe -> Rose, Eriksen & Austin for -4.

Save, I like your plan for next week! Not too keen on Austin but it could be beautiful!

Don't get me started on this. I ditched Ings for Defoe before Burnley's game with MUN. Second most stupid transfer I have ever made.

Defoe history: Had Austin, he was not scoring, then he got hurt, Defoe had scored in two consecutive matches. Austin > Defoe. Again, supporting the mutual fund disclaimer that that "past performance is not a guarantee for future performance."

      Defoe > Austin for SGW.

I think Giroud will start. He was in good form, had a bad game. I don't think he will be dropped because of it - rather sent out again to respond.

On the other hand I think Cazorla might get a rest as he's played more than most and been run pretty ragged. Chamberlain coming in maybe.

    Chamberlain-Coq
    Alexis/Walcott - Ozil - Alexis/Welbeck
    Giroud

    OR

    Rosicky-Coq
    Chamberlain - Ozil - Alexis
    Giroud

I can see Giroud starting too. Caz went off early vs Monaco though, is this not a sign he will play vs Everton?

I think that Caz will play at least 60 minutes in all games if he maintains his form. He is all over the pitch in the league.

But that might be a reason to give him a week off. Fresh legs, give Santi a breather. He's lost his sparkle a little bit over the last 2 games. Let him recover that.

Or Giroud is dropped, Wally takes Welbs wing roll and Welbs goes up top?

Please could i have your thoughts on my 1st XI?

    Pantilimon

    Yoshida---Lescott---Clyne---Haidara

    Ameobi---Sánchez---Di María----Cazorla

    Agüero----Giroud

    0.1 back

    -4

Looks good. If Sammy plays he could be a great pick.

    Good enough for this GW?

    Ospina
    Clyne - Naughton - Jones - Wolly
    Hazard - Sanchez - Walcott - Moses
    Aguero - Defoe

Krul - van Aanholt - Kane - Hazard

    1FT, 0.7 in the bank

Anyone else considering Lloris for the DGW?

If you have a premium GK like DDG it might well be worthwhile. If you have a cheap rotation it's not worth it, disrupts the squad balance too much.

Which forward to have with Aguero
    A) Sturridge
    B) Rooney
    C) Giroud

Long term Sturridge, but he's still way off the pace for the time being.

It's tough. I want to say Giroud, but there's a risk he might not play.

IMHO if having Aguero there is no need for another pricey forward. Take 2 budget forwards instead and use the money to upgrade Midfield or Defence.

He asked for a choice between 3 options. He didn't ask you to restructure his squad.

    Afternoon gentlemen!

I don't need to do anything with this right? Good to go and save FT for next week!?

    Forster,
    Clyne, Bruce, PVA, Dawson
    Sanchez, Cazorla, Silva, Boyd
    Kun (c), Giroud (Vc)

    Hamer, Kane, Hazard, Terry

    Thx

Might as well, think even if Pva doesn't make an appearance, there will be plenty of teams with only 10
