With a single goal in his last six league appearances, Alexis Sanchez’s debut season in the Premier League seems in danger of grinding to a halt. After serving up 12 strikes and seven assists in the opening 21 Gameweeks, the Chilean’s displays made him a must-have for Fantasy managers but, in spite of Arsenal’s late surge up the table, his recent output has been minimal.

There’s no disputing the fact that Sanchez’ downturn has coincided with the return to action of Mesut Ozil. The German has started each of the last seven Gameweeks and managed two goals and five assists over that period, whilst Olivier Giroud has developed a source of consistency which has harvested six strikes and a trio of assists in his previous eight outings.

Despite his price of 11.4 in the Fantasy Premier League (FPL) game, Sanchez is still the third most popular midfielder – only Eden Hazard and Raheem Sterling currently sit in more sides. With some of his 30% ownership starting to scour the market for alternatives, we delve into the data to asses his displays over the two time frames in order to ascertain just what has gone wrong.

Paul Is certain he won't make the same mistakes next season. Follow them on Twitter

It does not need to be a hiding for kane to be a good choice.

Will Spurs score at least 1? Pretty likely Id have thought

Will Spurs score 2? Still reasonably likely?

Will Spurs score 3+? Maybe not based on recent history

Will Kane be involved in the goals Spurs do score? Recent history would suggest this is more than likely

I now have a provisional plan for next 5 weeks. It's too long and boring to share in detail but the executive summary includes
    - Guzan, hutton, Austin, benteke (c) for dgw glory next week
    - keeping kane & erik for Spurs great fixtures.
    - no kun but silva and a cheeky one week dzeko / bony punt to cover citeh wk 33 (WHU)
    - Ivan, PVA, bellarin, Sanchez, hazard, Henderson/Coutinho, giroud Costa in dgw34
    - all for free transfers but with an option to bring in mahrez and Sturridge (c) for 8 pts for dgw34 as well
    - plenty of flexibility should dgw fall in different weeks or an injury/suspension occurs

    Just thought I'd share 🙂

4 DGW players? and 3 of them villa players. I think Austin OR Benteke is enough.

Decent plan but one for the pack chasers.

Too many risks involve in it for my liking, especially for DGW31, too many AVL for my liking. plus we're still in the dark about 2 DGW fixtures.

Aren't we all pack chasers nabil unless we are dufflinks?

Just foster > Guzan this week, save ft. I already have hutton and Austin so just kun > benteke (c) next week, save ft.

Plenty of flexibility to adapt to circumstance with this plan

Transfers done. Went with Giroud in the end.

Giroud has the better fixture and don't really trust Villa vs a solid Swansea midfield of Ki,Cork and Shelvey.

Moreover, who knows I may want Austin instead of Benteke after this gw.

Benteke if needed comes in with the FT next gw.

Thoughts on the Man City reaction this weekend? They were obviously crap against Burnley. I didn't see the whole game last night, how was the desire in the team? I saw a good analysis with Carragher and Neville on Yaya and Silva in recent days about how shockingly lazy they are.

What kind of reaction do you expect at home to WBA?

They were not good, lacked urgency and looked dis-jointed. With that said, Aguero snatched at a few chances, he put Silva through who had a rare bad touch and they should have had a pen.
I would predict a City win. Toure did look disinterested.

I won't be getting him in, just surprised that the entire consensus agreed to go with the 7.4 striker with 3.5 ppg, over the 5.2 striker with 2.9 ppg, not much between the two other than price.

Thanks DZ for the input over the last few days, think it has cleared my thinking!

    ----------------Myhill-------------
    -------Terry—Wollo---Alderw—
    --Hazard—Sliva—Erik----Sanchez
    ---Kane—Aguero (c)—Giroud(vc)

    Foster Boyd PVA Hadria
    1FT 1.0 ITB No WC

A- Save. (Plan of next week Erik to Siggy and think about a striker to Benteke)
    B- Sort Foster. Guzan/Ospina?
    C- Something else

I think I am settled on A. I have a long, and probably flawed, plan to get Ivan in for Hadria by 33 and the Siggy move is raising funds for this. My thinking on Myhill is that if it were Foster I would have played him vs city, sucked up that fixture due to his next 2.

With that said, please tear this apart if you see any faults. Thanks

    Evening, looking for some ideas!

    Pantilimon - (Heaton)
    Ivanovic - Rose - Bellerin - (Naughton) - (PvA*)
    Sanchez - Hazard - YayaToure* - Mane - (Moses)
    Giroud(c) - Aguero - Kane
    0.4 ITB, 2 FT

Obviously was a flop with Yaya so I am thinking of shipping him out...

    A) Yaya & PvA -> Eriksen & Alderweireld
    B) Yaya & Bellerin -> Ozil & Alderweireld
    C) Moses -> Phillips
    D) Other.

Well considering you'd be saving 2.5 mill on Sanchez -> Ozil, then you could reinvest that in doing Clyne / Kosc to Ivan and double up on Chelsea's defence for their run in to the title (good fixtures, Jose could easily shut up shop), or you could upgrade Terry for a better goal threat.

I just think the cash could be better invested than in Sanchez, and Mahrez is boring.

Enough with the wally could start this week, it's gone on long enough.

Some times transfers out of unpredictable and explosive players will backfire but when they are not nailed, have a blank coming up and AR out of form anyway then the right call is to move on. More often than not this will work out for the best.

Don't have much faith on Villa defense, especially when Sherwood is making them play an attacking game. So Guzan is out of the picture for me.

The only thing about Ospina that worries me is the chance of rotation. But I think he can be considered as Arsenal's no.1 now, isn't he ?

Need a defender for my draft league squad this week. Narrowing it down to two of the available options...

    A) Demichelis (WBA)

    B) Collins (SUN)

    who to go for?
