With a double Gameweek 31 just around the corner, we take time out to analyse Tim Sherwood’s impact at the Aston Villa helm so far. In terms of results, at least, it’s been a mixed beginning for the new man in charge – in addition to seeing off West Brom in the cup, Villa have won two and lost three of his first five league fixtures, scoring seven times in the process.
Bearing in mind that the Midlands side had notched two goals in the ten Gameweeks prior to Sherwood’s arrival, though, it’s fair to say that he’s improved their prospects in the final third. Shifting to a two-man frontline and bringing Scott Sinclair and Charles N’Zogbia out of the cold and onto the flanks, the new manager has transformed the fortunes of Christian Benteke and Gabby Agbonlahor, with the duo both scoring three times in the last trio of league fixtures.
As Villa prepare to face United and QPR in the next round of fixtures, we turn to the new team data in the members section to ascertain whether there is such as thing as “the Sherwood effect”.
