Romelu Lukaku remains a doubt as Everton prepare for the trip to Swansea, who could be without Jefferson Montero through injury. Laurent Koscielny is set for a late test before Arsenal’s visit of Burnley. Joe Ledley is doubtful for Palace’s clash with Sunderland, whilst Tim Sherwood is still sweating over the fitness of several players ahead of Villa’s visit to White Hart Lane.

Roberto Martinez has admitted that Romelu Lukaku remains “50-50” to face Swansea, as he struggles to overcome a hamstring complaint. Bryan Oviedo and Tony Hibbert are still sidelined, while the Spaniard also expects to be without Aiden McGeady as he battles with a back problem.

Swansea themselves are sweating on the hamstring injury to winger Jefferson Montero, who faces a late fitness test. Kyle Bartley and Leon Britton have however been passed fit, and are available for the weekend.

Laurent Koscielny will have a late fitness test to determine his availability against Burnley, after limping out of the win against Liverpool with a thigh injury. Elsewhere, Arsene Wenger has received a big boost with the news that Jack Wilshere, Mathieu Debuchy, Abou Diaby and Mikel Arteta are all back in contention to face the Clarets.

Alan Pardew has revealed that Joe Ledley is the Eagles only concern going into the meeting with Sunderland. The midfielder has a hip strain and will be monitored ahead of the weekend. The Welshman could be replaced by Mile Jedinak, who is available after serving a four-match ban.

Andrew Robertson and James Chester are both fit and available for Hull’s trip to Southampton, Steve Bruce has confirmed. Curtis Davies misses out again with a thigh problem.

Southampton boss Ronald Koeman has ruled Filip Djuricic out of the visit of Hull with an ankle injury. Meanwhile, Steven Davis and Florin Gardos will return to the squad after missing last weekend’s defeat to Everton.

Nigel Pearson has confirmed that Dean Hammond and Matt Upson have both resumed full training this week, as the Foxes prepare for the clash with West Brom.

Alan Hutton (ankle) Ashley Westwood and Scott Sinclair (both hamstring) all remain big doubts ahead of Tim Sherwood’s reunion with Spurs. Sherwood has also admitted that Aly Cissokho and Carles Gil will both be assessed before the weekend, while Libor Kozak remains unavailable despite featuring for the reserves in midweek.

Sean Dyche will welcome back Matt Taylor for the weekend visit of Arsenal, with the midfielder finally over the Achilles problem that has plagued his season up till now. In more good news, Dyche is optimistic that both Ross Wallace and Steven Reid will be available to face the Gunners.

All this and more has now been updated in the Team News section ahead of tomorrow’s deadline. Keep an eye on our official Twitter Stream as breaking news unfolds.

They're a travesty, they're always terrible when they're safe (Ashley doesn't like ambition), and this season their side and manager is worse than ever. Expect them to get annihilated practically every game, I think Liverpool will get 5 or 6 if they play well.

Rooney, potentially with a (C) armband on him

      1. Ruth_NZ
        11 years, 6 months ago

That's a brave call although he has a great record against City. I have him in my team but tend to think that's differential enough when Kane has such a good fixture.

This week I'll try to do the sensible thing I think.

        1. Donkey_Sanctuary

Do you think Kane will outscore Hazard this week?

Yes. Otherwise I'd captain Hazard. But it's a close decision.

      Gomis

Everton has 1 away CS in their last 17 away games.

Though Remy looks THE differential this week, but most of the active players will take him this week anyway, so probably not as big a differential as we are thinking he will be.

He'll get found out soon, he won't have the same season again imo.

That being said, he still has the confidence and all that malarkey and is playing again a Tim Sherwood defence

Hazard, the highest points scorer in the game vs one of the very worst teams in the league. Don't see what the concern is.

    4. Les Bleus
      11 years, 6 months ago

Well I'd argue that the "worst team in the league" just scored 3 against Villa who played midweek and could be tired 😉

      Kane(c) for me.

      1. Clam. ☘️
        11 years, 6 months ago

Actually fatigue is an interesting issue.

        1. ellelelle
          11 years, 6 months ago

Agreed... QPR also likely to be fatigued though..

Toss up as to who could capitalise on that more.. Hazard or Kane!

          I still think Hazard!

    5. Nickofoz
      11 years, 6 months ago

Yes, there's that. But imo going against Kane means you are risking losing a greater haul, e.g. Kane could score a hat trick but Hazard hasn't scored more than 14 points this season

    What's the consensus on :
    Giroud > Remy?
I have Wc so long term not an issue

    B-No (keep Gru)
    Thanks.

    1. Jafalad

No. No point buying in a player with gametime concerns for a player in peak form right now.

        11 years, 6 months ago

But Burnley have been keeping it tight.
Qpr could be tired and concede loads anyway.

After a rank few months, I've had a good past month and stand an outside chance of winning my work league (even if I'm only top 70,000 worldwide). Any thoughts on this would be great - still have my sub to use...

    Pantillimon (Krul)
    Terry/Clyne/Rose (Bellerin/Dawson)
    Hazard/Silva/Hazard/Cazorla (Phillips)
    Benteke/Kane/Austin

Got Phillips, Benteke, Austin, Bellerin & Cazorla missing next week so need to ditch at least one of them.

Torn between Benteke and Austin, with a view to bringing Sturridge in - especially given his form against Newcastle in previous years. That said, Silva would be a more logical ditch given his recent form and a tricky away fixture.

If I bring Sturridge in, I'd probably captain him as nobody else in the work league has him whereas everyone has Hazard and Kane.

Any advice would be great - thanks!

    1. Tommytour
      11 years, 6 months ago

You need some players for 33

      Tekkers > Remy for starters

    2. gazmanstar

Sorry - the second Hazard is meant to say Eriksen! Also, I've got £7.7m in the bank so can afford quite a bit with the change...

Morning all. My team below - would you save a FT or start prepping for GW34? Thinking of switching Cazorla > Henderson/ Sterling/ Coutinho. Any advice?

    Myhill
    Ivan/ Bertrand/ PVA
    Hazard (c)/ Silva/ Cazorla/ Siggy
    Kane/ Aguero/ Austin

4.9 ITB so could afford Austin > Sturridge?

    1. King H
      11 years, 6 months ago

      Cazorla to Sterling makes sense.
I suppose you could hold of till next week and bring in 2 Liverpool players !

True, fancy Liverpool to score 3/4 against Newcastle which is tempting me, but would love another week to weigh up options!

    Benching dilemma.

Just brought Moreno in with a view to DGW - seems a waste to bench him against NEW, though. Do I start him ahead of Fonte and spread the risk, or stick with my Soton double up? Defence as it stands is:

    Ivan/Alder/Fonte (Moreno/Dawson)

Could theoretically go 4 at the back, but would entail benching 1 of Silva/Haz/Sanchez/Eriksen.
