Here’s our regular update on the competition, featuring a look at the Matchday 3 games that took place over Gameweek 33. We also have some fun handing out some Matchday Awards and a look ahead to Matchday 4. Please use this article for all tournament chat.

MATCHDAY 3 RESULTS

The final Matchday 3 results have been updated in the Cup spreadsheet and we can reveal that after a hard-fought round, Bangladesh and South Africa top Groups A and B respectively.

In Group A, four teams are on four points apiece. One more win for any of those four teams will guarantee them a place in the knockouts. Scotland with two and Sri Lanka with no points may be lagging behind but are still very much in the race for qualification.

In Group B, South Africa and West Indies are through to the knockouts, courtesy of their unbeaten run. All the remaining four teams still stand a chance to take the remaining two knockouts spots.

Congratulations to all the victorious teams and a reminder to those that lost that everyone is still in this hunt for glory.

MATCHDAY 3 AWARDS

Sachin Tendulkar Award for the best batting lineup – WI with 658 runs

Salma Hayek Overnight Award for the player of the week – Never Trust Bony with 70 runs from IND

Hot Urine Treatment for the highest run scorer on the bench – Mull with 73 runs from AUS

SAF Management Award – manager with highest manager rating – Bonz of SAF with rating of 99

Dalglish Differential – manager with lowest manager rating – Zep of AUS with rating of 92

Jose Mourinho Award for the best pressers before Matchday 3 deadline:

Media choice – Sheikh Badger (UAE) with +10

Fans choice – Sheikh Badger (UAE) with 30 votes on the CWC poll

Andrew Symonds Award for the best sledging (Social Media) – BungledMess (Parody fan account of Bangladesh) and New Zealand

LINE-UP SUBMISSION

All managers are requested to email me their four substitutes and their FPL IDs before the deadline of Friday, 24 April, 2359 BST. In case he or she fails to do so, the autosubs will be the last four players on the Squads Page.

        ii dont understand why you would do it this way... you know your going to play it, press the button first then do it.

        I would freak out with the message coming up saying "This will deduct 52 points from your total!"

          Maybe to make the transfers count towards price changes, but not enough people do it that way to matter. I always activate straight away

              I got Schlupp in for last week, so I have a cleanie to thank him for, as well as having no DGW transfer to feel stupid about--it's just flat bad luck. Now I just have to wait and see if I should feel stupid for the DGW transfers I did make!
