Only one FPL manager could withstand a 52-point hit and walk away with a smile on their face. In this week’s ScoutCast episode we tell the extraordinary tale of the FPL champion’s “inactive” Wildcard, whilst looking back on Granville’s own, rather more successful squad refresh.

We tackle all the usual regulars, as Jonty arrives armed with another array of quizzical requests from you, the community. We look forward to the Gameweek 37 double Gameweek, assess the role of end of season motivation and recall the moment that Jamie Vardy’s girlfriend turned our world upside down. No really.

This week’s episode was published live on Monday via Google Hangouts. You can view the full, uncut footage in the larger player below or via our YouTube channel.

If you prefer the slick, slimline audio edition, you’ll need this link or the first player below.

Mark Mark created the beast. He's now looking to tame it.

    A) Ivan + Bolasie --> Stones + Ramsey

    B) Mata + Kane --> Mirallas + Giroud

Both for a hit...which one do you reckon?

      Will Mirallas start?

I would do neither of them but prefer A for the above reason.

    Schmeichel
    Huth, Skrtel, Ivan
    Fab, Hazard, Sterling, Henderson
    Kane, Giroud, Kun

    Subs: Pants, Cambiasso, PvA, Duff

    0.5m, 1 FT.

    A) Sterling -> Ozil/Ramsey
    B) Fabregas -> Ozil/Ramsey
    C) Something else
    D) Save FT

    Ospina
    Terry Azpilicueta Moreno**
    Hazard Sterling Coutinho Alexis
    Aguero Vardy Giroud

    Schmeichel Cambiasso VanAnholt Duff

1 FT and 0 in bank

        I'm thinking Colo

        1. Heels_Over_Head
          11 years, 6 months ago

Colo is the budget way to BAPS, long as Janmaat doesn't steal them. Had both Colo and Janmaat in different wildcard drafts, then the position became Vlaar for money flexibility... and now I no longer need money flexibility because my interest in strikers that cost more than 8 is all gone ... busy weeks

      1. zøphar

yeah his fixture next week is v tempting but I wasn't that impressed with Hull vs liverpool, onus completely on defending, very little service for ndoye.

giroud vs swansea could score similar to ndoye vs burnely

        1. Ruth_NZ

Won't be a full exodus for me, Liverpool have good fixtures in 37/38.

I'm starting to come round to the idea of Koscielny. Sanchez, Giroud are definites and the others are so close I'm not sure I can be bothered to make the decision 🙂

      1. andy85wsm
        • Has Moderation Rights
        11 years, 6 months ago

Looking at it I'd need an additional hit to get Koscielny instead of a 3rd attacker so probably won't go for it (unless I get rid of Ivanovic)

        1. Doctor X
          11 years, 6 months ago

I'm in a worse predicament. I'm getting Sanchez to go with Ramsey who I already have.

Do you not think Ivanovic might keep his place and Chelsea will be let loose?

            1. zøphar
              11 years, 6 months ago

I think he will keep his place and never leave the attacking third. Or too drunk

            2. Ruth_NZ
              11 years, 6 months ago

Ivan will probably play all games, may be rested for WBA (a) if at all. But Chelsea may well open up once it's won, reducing the probability of clean sheets a bit. Chelsea clean sheets are probably most likely when playing the toughest opponents because they set up differently.

I'm not saying keeping Ivan is bad, just that Ivan to Kosc wouldn't be a bad move, Arsenal have good fixtures as well.

    2. Danstoke82
      11 years, 6 months ago

Yes I was having the same thoughts.

Sanchez & Giroud are already a given but its between Kosc and maybe Rambo and I think the latter might bring in more of a return.

      However, Im usually wrong.

    3. Geordienufc1
      11 years, 6 months ago

I brought in kosc on my WC last week, so I'm set. Pity I benched him 😛

      1. Doctor X

Dang lads. I'm actually deciding between Koscielny and Giroud 🙁

Which makes it a much harder decision because everyone is going to have Giroud.

    4. Joga Bonito®

        Form

  19. Geordienufc1
    11 years, 6 months ago

Who on earth do I bench?

    A) Kane
    B) Silva
    C) Vardy
    D) Henderson

I honestly have no idea. Vardy seems the obvious pick, yet still seems like a good bet for returns. Silva has been really poor, but he's a good enough player to overcome that, and city's recent results against Tottenham have been very fruitful fantasy-wise. It seems slightly mad to bench hendo, especially seeing as he was far more threatening than sterling over recent weeks, and may retain pens if Gerrard struggles to make it, or when he inevitably goes off early. Which leaves the Hurrikane, who's consistency (even when out of form) and high ownership (still), as well as eye for a big game, seems to suggest he's also a must play.

    Anyone got any ideas?

    1. Joga Bonito®
      11 years, 6 months ago

      Tough decision. Maybe Kane.

    2. Heels_Over_Head
      11 years, 6 months ago

      Silva

Kanes's in the golden boot shoot out
      Vardy's in form
Henderson looked angry at Hull and I expect shall look for redemption

Silva looked bored against Aston Villa

    3. mojoindojo
      11 years, 6 months ago

B or D I reckon. Silva looked pedestrian and Liverpool can't buy a goal currently.

Of course either can get double digit score with Silva more likely.

    4. Mark-O
      11 years, 6 months ago

Share your lineup so we get a better picture? I would bench Silva or Hendo. Vardy and Kane will get good points this weekend given City's poor away form coupled with absence of Yaya..

    5. Jafalad
      11 years, 6 months ago

Silva for me. City's form genuinely worries me.

    6. Geordienufc1
      11 years, 6 months ago

      Lineup:

      Schmeichel (Panti)
Terry | Skrtel | Ivan | Koscielny (PvA)
Sterling | Hazard | Silva | Henderson (Cambiasso)
      Kun | Kane | Vardy

Saving FT, with 1 mil itb, then downgrading Ivan next week to facilitate Giroud in.

I have all those players, and am benching Hendo (have Sterling for Pool coverage). I suppose if you don't have other Pool coverage it's a tougher decision, but for God's sake don't bench Vardy at home to the Newcastle defence.

not going to do it this week, but i'm definitely pondering Ivanovic to Koscielny to get my 3rd Arsenal player for the DGW.

This seems like a crazy question, but..
    Play Silva or Albrighton?

Alternatively, I could sell Silva for Ozil

      silva mate

      Crazy indeed 😛

I'm not sure what to do with silva myself (see above). I think I'd wait on the transfer to see which arsenal mid is in form, but I think you have to play silva this week.

      Play Silva or sell him.

      Play silva

      That's a bit of a stretch mate.

Play Vardy over Silva, sure. But Albrighton? I think you'd be punting on lightning striking twice. 😉

On 2nd thoughts I think you should be obliged to play Albrighton to pay back for your good fortune (sorry, astute player selection) in the DGW.

      Silva's good, I'd say.

An emu is similar to an ostrich, a bit smaller in size.

Liverpool will explode this week to make up for their dismal showing.

      They are due 5-6 goals.

      Yes they are.

      Coutinho is due a brace.

Sterling is certain to give double-digit returns.

Skrtel will continue his splendid form with a CS and goal.

      😐

They have to turn their possession into chances eventually... Oh wait, maybe not.

Still it's QPR so you have to keep faith.

Nor me, and I can't imagine the pain, but I have seen a family member suffer and die from dementia and it is unbearable.

I know nothing will really be any consolation at the moment, but always remember that this community is more than just FPL. When I lost a friend it was a great help, there are genuinely caring people on here and we'll do what we can to provide any semblance of comfort.
