This evening we roll out the quarter final draw for the Fantasy Football Scout Cup XI, as sponsored by Paddy Power, as well as the semi-final draw for the Fantasy Football Members Cup V.

Mark continues to fight another day, after seeing off Eedee in round seven in the FFS Paddy Power Cup XI. He is the highest placed manager in the competition with a Fantasy Premier League rank of 155 and squares up to johni00 in the quarter finals.

Another of the FFScout team has made it through. Our moderator and Scoutcast guest Ryan beat the competition’s previously highest ranked manager, fuml_akimbo, and now faces HammersXI.

In the other quarter final ties, HuttonDressedAsLahm takes on Mowgli and faux_C is matched with Jon Nurse, who has won £25 worth of free bets with Paddy Power after his round seven tally of 68 proved to be round seven’s highest score.

In the Fantasy Football Members Cup V, the first semi-final will see the competition’s highest placed manager Tdubb05, who is ranked 1345th, take on waltzingmatildas. Meanwhile, Alwilb’s semi final opponent is faux_C, the only competitor to be in with a chance of winning both our cups.

The full quarter final draw for the FFS Paddy Power Cup XI can be found here, while the semi-final draw for the Members Scout Cup V can be found here.

Good luck to those involved in the weekend’s action. In the meantime, though, if you’re looking for more information on the Scout Cup schedule and prizes available, click this link for a more thorough rundown.

    Ramsey is from Cardiff, Swansea is from Wales, Cardiff is in Wales.

    Point is, if Ramsey could play, he will play!
    And will be top motivated surely, new brace incoming.

      Nonsense, has nothing to do with Wales as the game is in London. He will play if he is fit. I'm sure he will be.

        Swansea are still a big rival of Cardiff, and I'm sure Ramsey will want to play that game.

      Arfield Boyd is from outer space. There is lots of space between his ears. His ears are not listening.

      Point is, if a spaceship is travelling from his world to our at 4000 mph, how long would it take for us to move to a different planet before he gets here?

    Would like some final thoughts before going ahead with this...

    Panti/Hamer

    JT/Skrtel/Toby/Bruce/Baird

    Hazard/Cesc/Henderson/Sterling/Boyd

    Kun/Kane/Giroud 1.3 ITB 2FT

    A) Cesc + Sterling + Skrtel -> Sanchez + Silva + Wasi (Do JT->Koscielny next week for 3ARS players)

    B) Cesc + Sterling + Skrtel ->Sanchez + Ramsey + Morgan

    both for a -4 hit.

        B seems to be the overall consensus. Although I'm leaning towards A for a few reasons:

        Silva and Aguero could go crazy vs QPR at home (especially as QPR need to go for it). Ramsey has been flagged yellow, and Arsenal's mid seem to share the goals a lot and Silva is more consistent. Bringing in Kosc would cover the 3rd Arsenal slot for DGW37...

        1. Boyd to Sven
          • 11 Years

          I do have Silva already so maybe it's skewed my thinking a little bit. But personally I've decided that two Arsenal mids is my main priority for the double.

      I think you are wrong! Benteke is the real deal, he's world class.. I don't even own him but my word the fella is different class to these Murrays and Austins. I wouldn't say theres anything between Benteke and Kane tbh

        Benteke's a much better player than Kane when he's on form. I don't think Kane will produce what he has done this season in future.

      The way the team is set up is so attack minded and so centred around him that it's difficult to see him not being involved. I've finally caved and got him in this week, those fixtures, that form and we still have a lot to play for, seems silly to ignore now.

    Hello everyone. What would you do with this lot?

    Schmeichel
    Ivan Schlupp Chester
    Hazard Fabregas Coutinho Sterling
    Kun(c) Giroud Vardy

    Panti Henderson Cresswell Pva
    2 FT, 0.1 in bank.

    I'm thinking Fabregas/Sterling -> Ramsey/Ozil.

    1. Doolittle

      I've a very similar team to you and I'm going Ivan and Sterling to Bellerin and sanchez

  8. Doolittle
    • 13 Years
    11 years, 3 days ago

    Annoyed that I allowed myself to be convinced to postpone Fabregas to Sanchez for a week. 2 FTs this week:

    Mignolet/Myhill
    Terry/Jones/Moreno/Alde/Dawson
    Hazard/Silva/Fabregas/Henderson/Boyd
    Aguero/Kane/Vardy

    5.3 ITB.

    Definitely doing Fabregas to Sanchez, could do Vardy/Kane to Benteke, but then I'll likely need a -8 to get 3 Arsenal next week.Could also do Kane to Giroud, but then I'll probably have to go without Benteke.

    Thoughts?

    1. Trigg ⭐️
      • 13 Years

      How convinced are you of Benteke?

      Surely Giroud, with less DGW hits, is a better solution?

      1. Doolittle
        • 13 Years
        11 years, 3 days ago

        I'd rather have Giroud, but would ideally like both. If I go for Giroud, I still have a dilemma:

        A) Get him this week for Kane
        B) Wait until next week, then I can get him for Vardy

        1. Trigg ⭐️

          This might sound crazy, but Vardy over Kane for the final few GWs isn't insane.

          Good fixture for Giroud this GW, too.

    Have you read about Biesla at Marseille? Apparently he sits on a coolbox on the touchline with his drinks in it and lives with a 1996 caravan at the training ground.

    According to a French colleague he also brought a portable BBQ to the last match and cooked up some sausages on the touchline, although I can't find anything to corroborate this in English.

    http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/football/article-2799481/marseille-manager-marcelo-bielsa-sits-cup-coffee-2-0-win-toulouse.html

    This seems to be about it in French although I'm a bit rusty: http://www.legorafi.fr/2014/10/06/om-apres-la-glaciere-bielsa-sort-un-barbecue-en-plein-match-face-a-caen/

    Anyone want to talk me out of my two week plan?

    This week: Sterling & Murray ----> Albrighton & Benteke (no hits)

    Next week for a hit:

    Option A: Skrtel & Benteke ---> Kos & Giroud

    Option B: Fabregas & Teke ---> Ramsey & Giroud

    Option C: Iva & Kane ---> Kos & Giroud

    Shying away from option c as spurs have Hull and fancy Kane to go out with a bang for the last game.

    -4 to get 3 arsenal players in and have bent eke for a nice plump fixture.

    Only doubt is Albrighton. Is he nailed? Cheers 🙂

    There has been a lot of "team voting" again on the Scout Challenge this week, annoys me to hell.

    I think this is the best choice and also it hasn't been supported by a mob from Team Scotland. If you agree that's 2 good reasons to vote for it. 😕

        Alec Salmond is the designated leader of the SNP contingent at Westminster. But he has been rather conspicuous by his absence from the spotlight.

    Already have -4 this round: Is Moreno->Monreal or Bertrand->Koscielny this week a good idea for -8? Already have Ivanovic, so if I keep I'll have to play Ivan-Moreno-Bertrand.. Don't like to have to opponents playing each other in defence.

    Well that GW34 WC plus saving FT on Sterling > Ramsey in GW35 didn't go well...alas, time to move on. Thoughts on the below?

    Schmeichel
    Ivan Terry Skrtel
    Hazard Silva Sterling Hendo
    Kun Giroud Kane

    Davis, Albrighton, PVA, Baird with 2 FTs & 0.2 banked.

    A) GW36: Ivan + Sterling > Vlaar + Sanchez for free
    GW37: Silva > Ramsey or Ozil for free

    B) GW36: Ivan + Sterling + Kane > Vlaar + Ramsey + Benteke (-4)
    GW37: Hendo + Silva > Sanchez + punt (-4)

    Thanks fellas. Oh, and protecting a 60 point ML lead.

        Well Vlaar can be anyone 5.0 and below. Wanted Stones but just 0.2 short. Defender would just be for GW36 effectively.

        Considering Vlaar, McShane, Duff, Dawson/McAuley...or even a Sunderland def in to prepare for GW37 along with PVA 😯

      Almost exactly the same team as me, and I've also got 2FT +£0.2 ! Truth is, I'm totally at loss what to do, but have been looking at B, only Ihave Vlaar already and will be getting PvA. But I hadn't thought about alternative A, I think it actually looks better as it avoids a hit this GW, and any potential doubt about Ramsey. But it means also going without Benteke, he will surely outscore Kane over the last three.

        Personally, am ok with Benteke out scoring Kane over the last 3 as that's the only way that allows me to get Sanchez...and Sanchez will definitely outscore Sterling to a larger extent over the same period.

          the Arsenal midfield is a points carousel. Won't be surprised if Cazorla gets a monster haul in the DGW. Both players share set pieces too - that's a plus.

          Personally, I think Sanchez is hands down the best option as he is captainable. Between Caz Ozil and Kosc...who would you captain?

      Not madness at all. I'm not convinced that your two picks are any worse than the other two. Yours are safer if anything because Ozil and Cazorla have a higher likelihood of assists as well as penalties (Cazorla) and set plays (Ozil).

      Ramsey and Sanchez probably have a somewhat bigger goal threat though.
