In the wake of the penultimate Gameweek, we take another look at how the Fantasy Football Scout leagues are shaping up. With leagues in Fantasy Premier League (FPL), Ultimate Fantasy Premier League, Sky Sports and the Fantasy iTeam (FiT) Champions League game, there’s plenty to catch up on.

FANTASY PREMIER LEAGUE

With one round of fixtures left to play out, Simon March, aka “Dufflinks”, boasts a 34-point lead at the top of the Scout League and the overall rankings. His 70-point haul this Gameweek can be attributed to some astute decisions in defence, with Wes Morgan, Patrick van Aanholt and Simon Mignolet accruing 29 points between them. Alexis Sanchez failed to deliver as captain, but David Silva (nine points) and Sergio Aguero (five points) kept Simon’s tally ticking over.

Second-placed Kev Gleave clawed back four points on Simon this Gameweek while surging up to second place in the global rankings. Kev also captained Sanchez and fielded the Manchester City duo but opted for double Sunderland defensive coverage, with Van Aanholt and Costel Pantilimon serving up strong returns.

Jon Summer stormed into third place with an 85-point tally. Ranked fourth overall, Jon made the brave – but ultimately lucrative – call to captain Laurent Koscielny while also plumping for the above-mentioned Black Cats duo and Leicester City’s Jeffrey Schlupp in defence.

Mariusz Fyrstenberg dropped to fourth after notching a respectable 61 points. He also handed the captain’s armband to Sanchez and went with the Sky Blues duo, but a trio of Liverpool recruits (Martin Skrtel, Raheem Sterling and Jordan Henderson) failed to deliver the goods. Stuart Shingler slipped one place into fifth by way of a 61-point Gameweek. Stuart was given little to cheer about besides the output of Van Aanholt and Pantilimon.

In the Fantasy Football Scout Members League, Simon March  ended the week with a 65-point lead over second-placed Stuart Shingler. Killian Long  now occupies the third berth following a disappointing 58-point haul. The Members League retained second position in the FPL’s “Best League” rankings, behind the Scout League.

ULTIMATE FANTASY PREMIER LEAGUE

Casting an eye over the UFPL Scout League, Damian Lindall (2813) remains in first place, but Obay Eid (2797) closed the gap by 22 points after fielding differentials like Graziano Pelle. Scout contributor Alex Bowers – who won the beta version of the game last term – entered the top three courtesy of a 98-point Gameweek. To join our UFPL league, use the code 524-87.

SKY SPORTS FANTASY FOOTBALL

Geoff Pryor (2427 points) increased his lead at the peak of the Scout League to 13 points over second-placed Steven Adams (2414 points). Katie Burgin (2391) maintains her grip on the bronze medal position. The winner of our Sky league – which retained top spot in the League of Leagues – wins £1,000.

CHAMPIONS LEAGUE

Our official Champions League game this season is the Fantasy iTeam (FiT) offering – a free, reliable and easy-to-use Fantasy football app. Adriel Cheung (852 points) extended his lead at the summit to 26 points, with Gavin Rolston (826 points) reclaiming the second-place berth. Juan Garcia (825 points) slipped to third. There’s an iPad mini on offer to the winner – the league name is Fantasy Football Scout and the pin is 11155.

      Good that. We always think in terms of either/or when it comes to discussing alternate bonus systems. No reason why the scoring system can't be expanded as oppose to either/or...

      Poor idea. The "man in the stand" will usually favour flashy brilliance over quiet competence.

      I want a system where defenders and defensive midfielders are better recognised, not one where Wingers and Strikers dominate.

      The Pantilimon problem last night could easily be resolved by tweaking the current system, it doesn't need to be abandoned.

      3 possible improvements:
      a) Better BPS for more than 6 saves in a game
      b) Better BPS for interceptions and recoveries
      c) Differentiation between pass success in a team's own half and opponent's half

      We know what the rules are and pick our team based on those rules. Seems strange to then complain about the result just because it doesn't suit in a given week.

      Asking for change is fine. Complaining when you think an alternative system would have been better for your team one week is silly

                      Gomis has more goal attempts in the box, and almost double the shots on target. He has scored 5 in the last 6, Lukaku has scored 2. Lukaku only has one attempt more, but many of them are long shots.

    I'm trying to catch my ML leader, trailing by 19 points but 39 points ahead of the 3rd placed team. Is it possible?

      1. Don't make any changes until Sunday unless you're on the limit of money for a key transfer. Only dump Hazard if you're sure he's out
      2. Don't take a hit unless you feel it will come back with interest - you'll be -23 for a start.
      3. You'll need differentials in players and/or captain - you already have some good differentials - assuming they play - Bellerin for example
      4. Avoid anyone you think your oppo will import
      5 Pick players you think he won't
      6. Suggestions: Ald -> Kolarov; Kane -> Ulloa; Hendo -> Siggy

        1.2 million in the bank so won't rush the transfers then.

        Feeling I've got quite a few rotational risks, impact player is on top of the list. Dropping Murray for Benteke is very tempting, although I've already been burnt by him once this season (bought him for fixtures with 0 goals and sold him couple of GWs before he exploded.

      Well, that assumed he would blank! He is one of the least likely guys to do so. He is not the leading FPL scorer, no? This reverse hypothetical is really just a spin that is sorta six of one half dozen of another. As a non-Haz owner, I was worried about NOT having him and him scoring a brace against a tired and unmotivated Sunderland team that is in the bottom half of the standings. Glass half full or half empty?

        I honestly did not believe for one second Sunderland would randomly lay down after so much good form nor did I believe Chelsea would randomly start playing 100% when they haven't for two weeks (even Leicester wasn't a great performance)

                I hear you're after Guidetti again though. He started off really well up here at Celtic but only scored once in about 15 games or so. looks really unfit tbh.

                  Yeah, have read about his situation at Celtic, apparently they can't wait to get rid of him. Would love him back at Feyenoord, but apparently he's demanding some ridiculous wages and a signing on fee of somewhere between 1 million - 3 million pounds, which is just unaffordable for us. Can't see it happening tbh.

    Rival has taken a -8 this week increasing my ML lead to 19 points.

    Would it be worth taking a -8 myself for these transfers?

    a) Giroud > Benteke

    b) Alderweireld > Terry

    c) Kane > Vardy
