The close of the season is proving a time of reflection for our community, as our writers and posters look back on 2014/15 and ahead to the next campaign.

We analyse the unlikeliest stars of the last 38 Gameweeks and also assess whether Chelsea can maintain their strong form into next term. In addition, we also find out who emerged victorious in our community tournaments and present some key attacking statistics in our Members Table section for those looking to steal a march on next season’s best forward prospects.

The Community Articles

Just days after the end of another Fantasy Football season, our dedicated community writers were busy analysing 2014/15’s key events and statistics as well as getting some early preparation in for next season.

Ludo has been taking a look at some of this term’s most reliable point scoring players to help target Fantasy Football gold for next season.

Meanwhile, Ruth NZ has started his regular series of articles looking at key teams’ prospects for next year. First up is his look at Chelsea’s remarkable campaign. He is also asking for Manchester United and Arsenal fans to help out with two of the next articles  in the series.

For some, the final Gameweek of 2014/15 proved one to savour, while for others it was one to forget, as our final Rough with the Smooth of the season revealed.

Finally, for fans of American Football, Daniel Levy was on hand to introduce the NFL Fantasy game, which opens its doors over the summer.

Don’t forget, if you’ve got some analysis, scout reports or features brewing, be sure to visit our community section to submit your article.

The Hottest Topics

For those keen to look in depth at the season gone by The 3rd Turd announced his latest round up of key Fantasy Premier League (FPL) data and You Must Be Jokin Ere took a look at bonus allocation, which revealed that 2014/15 was a great year for midfielders.

One group of players that transcend facts and figures are those cult heroes who defy the odds to bring in surprise points hauls. Kricky is for Kinnear has been canvassing the views of the community for their favourite surprise stars and can now reveal the full line up of his cult XI of the season. A community article, which will analyse each player in detail, is planned during the summer and looks like one not to be missed.

The community’s favourite moment of the season was the subject of Chris White’s discussion earlier this week. Among events listed was Harry Kane’s demolition of Chelsea, which caught many of us by surprise.

This proved to be one of very few blips for Jose Mourinho’s side on their way to securing the Premier League title. Understandably, the champion’s players are set to be among the first names on many of the community’s 2015/16 team sheets, according to our discussion looking ahead to next season.

No summer break from Fantasy Football would be complete without some early speculation about player prices. Fatherted was amongst the first to dust off his crystal ball and take a look at possible inflation for some of this season’s stars.

The Members Tables

For those keen to look in depth at the season’s best attackers my Attacking Players table can now be sorted by All Matches to reveal those who delivered the most shots in the box during 2014/15.

If you’re a member and are yet to get to grips with the custom statistics tables, you can view this movie for an explanation of how they work. Also, remember to tag them so that people can find the tables with ease.

The Community Leagues

Congratulations to the Bangledesh team, who won the FFS UEFA group’s team tournament that is based around the Cricket World Cup. They beat Australia in the final 501-475. The FFScout moderators and contributors dominated Sri Lanka side, which also boasts the 2014/15 FPL winner Simon March in its ranks, won the third placed play off against India 460-446.

A Gameweek 38 score of 52 saw Mark snatch first place from Greenwindmill by six points in the FFScout moderators and contributors league. There was better news for Greenwindmill in the Long and Winding Road main league. He clung onto first place, despite a late charge by Simon Walsh, who finished second.

Toon Army won Red Lightning’s Top 10K Any Season league and finished the season with an overall rank of 33. In Red Lightning’s FFS January Wildcard League Brian scored 1,183 points over the last 18 Gameweeks of the season to claim top spot.

The FFScout picks won this season’s Scout Picks Challenge, which is organised by OFCProdigy and sees the community look to better our picks. Mookie was the closest in second, while Milanista, Walsh and Sticky Mockwell were joint third.

Finally, a shout-out to AZ who is looking for Xbox One owners to join his FFS Fifa tournament.

It would be nice to see a few more clubs like Saints bringing their kids through and actually giving them a run in the first teams, rather than dash off to the transfer market in June and Christmas as soon as the window opens.

I think this will be the trickiest summer transfer window for Arsenal.

Our squad is not thin at all, it has enough decent players - what we need is upgrades, mainly three - a keeper, a defensive midfielder and a striker.

Now if we find a worthy upgrade in these three positions (my plausible options are Leno, Schneiderlin and J Martinez/Benzema), the most difficult part will be to decide who to let go.

Szczesny or Ospina? Flamini or Arteta? And the most important one: Giroud or Walcott?

I'd just choose Ospina, Arteta and Walcott meself.

    1. The Machine

Arsenal dont need a new keeper. Leno can not be much better than ospina who hardly dony anything wrong. There is no way wenger will sign a new keeper anyway regardless of what anyone thinks

Flaminis contract is over i think. Got to go. joel camp annd sanogo off for loans so a new striker can fit in. Diaby and maybe rosicky have to go to

If we can get Leno, there is no way why we should not. Just saying, he's a very good keeper.

Llike i said, regardless of our opinions wenger wont sign a new forst choice. Maybe some very young 3rd choice

One marquee signing in the last two seasons, I can see a big striker signing. Not my opinion, not of people seem to think this.

And the keeper situation, I say very few are available, so if only he gets someone like Leno, he signs. Can't see Cech coming.

      2. Saniul
        • 13 Years

And still, the new striker, Welbeck, Giroud and Walcott will compete for one spot (Can't see Walcott playing RW with Bellerin as #1 RB, need someone more defensive like Ox/Ramsey).

To my eye is their passing , whenever I see them the passing is woeful . Lambert I think knew this and didn't ask them to take on hard passes . They've done well under Sherwood with direct balls and crossing

But their short passing is woeful , and you can't beat most sides if you can't pass

I don't understand people dissing Giroud. He started his season late about the same time as Kane, held the club together midseason with goals.
When Girouds form dropped around GW32-33 Ramsey and Walcott were back.

Everyone has a drop in form during a season.

If Arsenal sign someone like Jackson Martinez (some probability), do you see one of Walcott/Giroud being the #3 striker for the club? No, they are better than that.

In that case, would you really want to see a 25-year old with oodles of pace and learning to finish really well leave the club?

Giroud has been great, but if one of him/Wally should go, has to be him.

Aye if they bring another in.
But that player has to play themselves into the team and the fact that English Prem football is a lot different from Europe.
Bring a new guy in and sell Giroud or Wally and it turns out the guy can't cut it in English football or his Mrs doesn't like the food and Arsenal could very quickly find themselves short of strikers especially if another one gets injured on top of it.

I don't see arsenal challenging for the title next season. Sure they have some goal fest games, but they also have 'bad' runs, losing at home to Swansea, drawing with Swansea and not scoring a home goal for 300 minutes..

Apart from bragging rights I don't think they actually have to beat Chelsea. Just get more points from the other games.
If Chelsea play that 1 goal and park the bus next year a few teams might just find a way through and nick a draw. Or even the odd win they failed to get this year.

Agreed. The worst thing Wenger could do is to try and come up with some half baked transfers to be a better team than Chelsea in some way...Chelsea are Chelsea and Arsenal are Arsenal and the winner is the one with most pts..

Also dont forget Abramovic had lent Chelsea over 1 billion pounds since he took over(in the form of loans to them )

Arsenal would be bankrupt and no more if they had that debt

Tt may be ironic about Messi but if his goal scoring capabilities were less, people would appreciate the things he does more. Those dribbles, those passes, that movement and so on. Add finishing capabilities & un-selfishness and he becomes so mesmerizing.

Ronaldo maybe one of the greatest goalscorers ever but at overall level, Messi trumps him anyday for me.

I will take your word for it. The players themselves need to be magnetised I guess to give them more control. Melal shirts and maybe some kind of cap

So you there would need to be magnetism coming from every direction? So every ground would need magnetic sides and roof as well as underground. I guess you wouldn't need turf anymore.

I'd make qualifying for international tournaments a mini tournament at the end of the season

So you get the same qualifying group but you play all the games in 2 or 3 weeks .

That way you don't break up the season with stupid international breaks . Also will add to the spectacle as you get a tournament every year (qualify one , tourney the next )

I am thinking of trying the Sky game next year, mainly cos of prizes available and there can't be that many people who can realistically win it right?

Although, I already play FPL and TFF so wondering if it will be too much?

Captaincy swap mid game week to give you two captain scores in most weeks is massive and there are many others.
No point going through them all in case they change for next year.

There are some strong players of SKY on here. When the game comes out have a look.
You need to be on top of it all the time.

      Only 40 transfers.

Cheers. Does a captaincy switch cost one of your 40 transfers? Cos if so, you can't do too many of those? Are there points for things other than the usual CSs, assists and goals?

It sounds like a more complicated version of TFF.

No 1 Captaincy swap every week is free. The idea being to have a Saturday captain swap to a good Sunday option who then plays on the following Saturday.
