With the clamour for “Rate My Team” opinions ramping up, we thought we’d not only provide a place to collate such requests, but also allocate a window and some FFS team members to address them.

The first Fantasy Football Scout Rate My Team Surgery will take place this evening with myself and Jonty joined by an array of moderators and contributors in a bid to answer the first batch of Rate My Team queries and player pick questions.

What’s more, for the later surgeries, we’ve recruited some real experts to help us out.

Next week’s sessions are provisionally booked in for Wednesday and Friday and we’re lining up a cast of former Fantasy Premier League champions to join us in giving their views on your queries.

We plan to run Google Hangouts for part of the session, allowing you to drop in and listen to the variety of nonsense being discussed as we go through the threads.

Tonight’s surgery is booked in for 9pm until 11pm UK time and we’ll be posting an article to host your queries an hour before we get online.

Keep an eye out for the article which will appear in the community section this evening.

Mark Mark created the beast. He's now looking to tame it.

Just realised that whenever an attractive player in a lower team (Trippier) moves to a new top team, circumstances change around him on the field. He no longer is the star hence not as much of the play goes through him. Could be an important point to realise for those considering Trippier, Caulker 😉 , Morgan? , Siggy at Spurs previously etc.

some thanks to Ruth for this, his statement about facts hiding inside the stats led me to this. Need to be more careful.

Don't tgink anyone are considering Trippier tbh. He's not even guaranteed to start.

      1. Ziro Becomes One
        11 years, 3 months ago

Exactly, I somehow started comparing him with Creswell and hoping he starts ahead of Walker but even his performance level will have to be assesses before even considering him.

However, my post was directed to all other such players as well who have moved to bigger clubs.

People are stats crazy. And yet you can use stats to argue some quite silly povs. IE Aguero can't play upfront with a partner.

I am certainly monitoring Trippier though, I think he could do well at Spurs.

It's a first draft - only logged on this evening. Feels very tricky this year...

    Schmeichel
    Ivan Cedric Toby
    Hazard Walcott Silva Hendo
    Rooney(c) Deeney Wilson

    Schwarzer Distin Anya Targett (2.5itb)

    Thanks

Both Deeney and Wilson may be a punt too many. Not quite established yet. But there again, both are capable of scoring goals come GW1.

    Made mini changes, please RMT:

    Schmeichel Hennessy
    Ivan, Koscielny, Huth, O'Shea, Targett
    Hazard Ozil Sterling Henderson Surman
    Rooney Giroud Deeney

  7. Gazpilicueta
    11 years, 3 months ago

    Butland / Schmeichel

    Azpilicueta, Mertesacker, Huth/Francis/Ward

    Hazard, Sterling, Ozil, Mane (Wanyama)

    Rooney, Pelle, Vardy

£0 in the bank, Rate my team anyone?

which bits do you like, which bits dont you like?
    out of ten?

    1. Link
      11 years, 3 months ago

      Hey Gaz.

Don't like the Saints double up to be honest. Prefer Benteke/Giroud/Kane in that slot. Vardy could be a good shout, but Leicester have lots of options (as well as a new striker) so a tad risky.

      1. Gazpilicueta
        11 years, 3 months ago

sure, Vardy is risky, I just really like Leicesters fixtures.

Which Saints double up dont you like, Pelle and Mane? or Pelle and Wanyama.

I think if I was new to this football lark I would choose to support saints, they are gonna do great!

        1. Link
          11 years, 3 months ago

Assume Wanya will sit on bench, it's the Mane and Pelle double I don't like.

Also, haven't checked the keeper rotation but I know Butland goes well with Ruddy.

I'd consider just going Schmeics - Schwarzer...and then Pelle to Benteke.

          1. Gazpilicueta
            11 years, 3 months ago

I think during the first five fixtures, Southampton will absolutely rock, I want to double up.

    Schweinsteiger back in training

Genuinely excited for 10 days from now

United actually have a proper midfield for the 1st time in ages

and (with apologies to Lucy) Schneiderlin looks damn good in a United shirt

    1. Piggs Boson

we got over-run in midfield so often last season (a big reason DDG had to make so many saves)

with the 2 newbies in there we'll be a much better prospect

Disregarding their prices, who do you think poses the maximum point-potential from these mids up until GW4 (wildcarding)?

    A)Sterling
    B)Depay
    C)Ozil

(Don't have Kun, though have got Rooney and Wally)
*A reason to go along with your pick would be appreciated, cheers!

      The million dollar question!

All have other players in their respective teams who could share the points so it's a lottery to be honest.

If I had to choose.... I'd go Sterling (I have Silva and think he will be awesome this season)

So do I, but won't it be a better idea to wait a couple GWs to see his potential in the prem, LVG says its a process and it will take time for him to settle. Amazing talent nonetheless 😀

Ozil is good for at least a couple of assists in the first few weeks, and I would expect him to do more. And the point is he is nailed.

I don't think Sterling is guaranteed a start over the first few gameweeks, personally, and the same with Depay.

    Huth, Mings, Bassong (Angella, Oshea)

    Ritchie, Walcott, Hazzard, Sterling, Depay

Memphis Depay. As far as I'm concerned, the Dutchman will get a no. 9 role unless LvG finally completes the signing of the 'mysterious striker' (which might never happen in this transfer window). Is he worth a try, having in mind that I already have Rooney in my team?

Fans of Chadli, aren't you guys afraid of Spurs' rotation of midfielders?

I'm never ever going near Chadli.

Who have they bought in to seriously threaten him?

      1. samuelhzb
        11 years, 3 months ago

Not really threaten, but you know, he doesn't get the full 90 mins most of the time. Always subbed off at 60+. Or sometimes left on bench to bring on for last 30 mins while Dembele plays.

Sure he still scored whatever he scored last season with the low minutes, but just wondering if he can replicate that?

Nobody knows 🙂 . He has good fixtures and the knack of popping up and scoring . I think he is a good pick to start with . I downgraded to Ritchie to save money

Not really, looks like the most nailed on option of that attacking force.

Spurs usually have one team for the Europa League and another for the Prem . They don't take the Europa League very seriously . Players like Soldado and Lamela will play in the Europa League and Chadli , Kane etc will play in the Prem

        this

          11 years, 3 months ago

I've noted that Spurs normally lose or perform badly after europa despite what your suggesting above and when Spurs have lost one theyve normally lost two in a row from last seasons stats.

        2. samuelhzb
          11 years, 3 months ago

Yes I know he does. But he doesn't get the full 90mins most of the time

And yes, he did brilliantly last season considering he has a rather low total minutes for a starter. But just wondering, can he repeat that? It's quite a bit of luck to score so high with low minutes.

First of: you still haven't changed the fact that I have to log in no matter how many times I click 'Remember Me'.

Second, any thoughts on this team?

    Butland

    Azpilicueta - Huth - Mertesacker(or other Arsenal 5.5 def)

    Hazard - Sterling - Walcott - Özil

    Rooney - Benteke - Deeney

    (McCarthy - O'Shea - Targett - Poyet)

Will play Butland every week until McCarthy gains 1st place.
Is Yaya + Koscielny better than Sterling + Mertesacker?

    Cheers guys

I was going to say this is terrible until I realized its pretty much exactly my team altho I have hendo and ivanovic and Fabby.. decent team

Targett and Poyet will be staying on the bench, what's the likelihood of McCarthy getting first team? H'es currently sat in my team alongside Butland as well. Maybe save 0.5 somewhere and upgrade Poyet to a midfielder who will get minutes in case of injury?

Anyone on 4 way rotation for first 4 GW's?

    This one looks tasty.
    WHU, CPL, SUN and LEI.

    18.5 for - Jenkinson/Tomkins - Ward - O'Shea - Huth

    SUN/nor
    NOR/LEI
    AVL/BOU
    avl/bou

    Thoughts?

    1. Darwen
      11 years, 3 months ago

I like. Although swapping CPL for BOU gives you:

      AVL/SUN
      NOR/LEI
      SWA/BOU
      LEI/bou

      NEW/AVL
      SUN/bou
      NOR/sto
      WAT/WHM

      1. Margarido
        11 years, 3 months ago

Not fan of BOU for CS's.
But yeah fixture wise looks better...

    1. Sergeant Garcia

Ivan > Azpi & Cedric > Kos; but i like your team. Looks a bit like mine in attacking ways ^^

      1. Dinamo Drachma
        11 years, 3 months ago

Thanks Brugge fan! Did you enjoy the match? 🙂
I wouldn't play Kosc in GW2, that's why I'm opting for Cedric! Thanks!
        How about your draft team?

        1. Sergeant Garcia
          11 years, 3 months ago

No i did not enjoy the match haha! We gave it away really, against 10 men :/
I'm a real doubter if it comes to my team. Currently I have Ramsey, but now considering
other Arsenal mids, like Wally or Ozil...

          1. Dinamo Drachma
            11 years, 3 months ago

It wasn't even a tackle for red card! And you missed a great chance to make it 0-2 :sigh:
I am opting for Ramsey too, although I have to downgrade Ivan to Shaw

            1. Sergeant Garcia
              11 years, 3 months ago

That Sanchez lad was frustrated and looked for revenge on Diaby, defo red for me 😀

I thought you went for Wally 😉

                11 years, 3 months ago

                Yeah double Arsenal 😉
I think referee interpreted like this, but again it's the first time a referee gives a yellow cars and 1min later changes it to red!
We still have to score in Belgium

      schmeichel
      Azpilicueta, koscielny, elphick
      Hazard, ozil, Depay, Henderson
      Rooney, wilson, lukaku

      bench: Ruddy, Anya, targett, lescott

please rate my team, thank you for your attention

      1. Dinamo Drachma

I'd opt for Bournemouth or Norwich DF
        i prefer Chadli to Hendo
Find 0.5 to upgrade Lukau to Benteke 😉 solid core!
