The Numbers Game – 2014/15 Review – West Ham

Our members articles analysing last season are completed today with a review of West Ham’s performances. The Hammers entered 2014/15 in reasonable health, having finished 13th in the Premier League in the previous campaign, although they only gained 40 points and did flirt with the relegation zone before finally confirming their top-flight status.

Plenty of changes were made in both playing and coaching personnel at Upton Park last summer, with forwards Enner Valencia and Diafra Sakho brought in, while Teddy Sheringham joined up as an attacking coach. Cheikhou Kouyate and Aaron Cresswell were also signed, while Carl Jenkinson and Alex Song moved to the Hammers on season-long loans.

In this members article, we asses the main goal threats and creators in Sam Allardyce’s final year at the helm and also compare the team’s attacking numbers to the previous year.

    I didn't see the game today; why is everyone jumping off Walcott? Surely no one was expecting him to bang in a hatrick against Chelsea and he has proven FPL pedigree.

      It's messy with Ox sting very well and Giroud improving the forward line when he came on.

      He was always too big a risk for me but the extra doubt has exceeded must people's threshold when there are safer Arsenal options

      I have Hendo + Benteke, but Milner is looking more of a threat than Hendo, he's been pushing forward much more, so I'd consider that. Might as well go for Chadli instead.

    Even though I know the defence is really cheap I am very pleased with the team. Noticed I have 5 penalty takers which cant be bad.

      great point, was looking at the same. with Song out they need someone to fill that 3 def in front of CB to unleash Payet. This kid played all important matches in pre-season and Eurooa qualif.

          But, Che start SWA, mci & wba so if you're WCing early maybe best to avoid Che altogether & then jump on whoever you like for their home game v. CPL in GW4.

      Initially I had exactly the same thoughts but since I think of picking 1 mid from top 4 teams, sterling looks more tempting with 0.5 extra.
