Our members articles analysing last season are completed today with a review of West Ham’s performances. The Hammers entered 2014/15 in reasonable health, having finished 13th in the Premier League in the previous campaign, although they only gained 40 points and did flirt with the relegation zone before finally confirming their top-flight status.

Plenty of changes were made in both playing and coaching personnel at Upton Park last summer, with forwards Enner Valencia and Diafra Sakho brought in, while Teddy Sheringham joined up as an attacking coach. Cheikhou Kouyate and Aaron Cresswell were also signed, while Carl Jenkinson and Alex Song moved to the Hammers on season-long loans.

In this members article, we asses the main goal threats and creators in Sam Allardyce’s final year at the helm and also compare the team’s attacking numbers to the previous year.

Can we all just agree that the Arsenal midfield is a crapshoot?

Pick one and cross your fingers. That's all there is to be said.

So at least pick from the ones who will get more minutes. Walcott even riskier now than 3 hours ago.

      I'd prefer Kosc over Azpi.

Depends on what approach you like to take, Walcott for high risk / reward, Cazarla for more of a safe bet but but with less potential.

I'm going Walcott, thinking that if he doesn't fire early on / his minutes prove limited I can easily transfer him for another decent option.

    Evening all!

First post of the new season - any recommendations as to anything that needs to change in my team?

    Butland Ruddy
    Shaw Cedric Prodl Mings 4.0
    Hazard Walcott Sterling Mane 4.5
    Rooney Benteke Sakho

Obv planning to play a 3-5-2, rotating Prodl and Mings.

      - Having a non playing 4m defender is asking for trouble IMO
      - Huth? I'd trust the Leicester defence more than the Watford&Bournemouth defences.
      - And you mean 3-4-3, not 3-5-2.

Im not sure. I think Azpi is a better long term pick than Kos. Not particularly keen on the RB situation and Mertesacker either. Though Monreal could be a good pick, would expect rotation at some stage though.

I think you are on to something. Arsenal, with Cech, and their well rounded team, would seem difficult to score on. The downside is that aside from Kos, and maybe to some lesser degree Mert, the fullbacks seem at risk to rotation. I'd like to havenBellerin as he seems like a growing threat offensively.

        This.

At this point it's really hard to pick right players, we'll probably should choose at least half casual players and no more than half of those punts. I'll probably follow this route:

Cazorla (dull, but nailed and on pens)
        Haz (dull, but haz pens)
        Sakho (price)
Rooney (because lack of nailed on fwds)
Reds - lottery at this point
        Sterling - get Aguero GW4
Mane (and maybe even double with Pelle if Benteke is not GW1 fit)

Does today's game make you less certain about Chelsea attacking players? Plenty with Hazard/Cesc + Costa. Are you also less sure about captaining a Chelsea player in GW 1? Strangely, Chelsea didn't play the ball to Hazard enough and he wasn't positioned in his usual position on the left enough. He was more central which made it easier to shut him down.
