How much does it take into account set pieces and pens in each independent GW score prediction?

Good question. A basic algorithm is used to give a starting point for goal-scoring rates for different players (using historical stats). The Scouts are then able to tweak these rates in light of new set-piece information (which wouldn't be reflected in historical data).

Cheers, can I lower the influence of a factor in RMT? I personally would like to see less focus on Pens in mine for example.

Not at present, sorry. We're currently in the process of re-designing the RMT section and once this is done there will be much bigger scope for more user interaction.

Thanks Jared. It's updated by Mark and co every week. They aim to update it every Friday evening (i.e. before a gameweek begins) a and well as Tuesday evening (or once a gameweek has finished). But they also try to update it at other times in the week if something really interesting has happened.

    RMT

    Fabianski - Hennessey
Ivanovic - Koscielny - Cedric - Lescott - Steven Taylor
    Hazard - Walcott - Mane - Chadli - Bentaleb
    Rooney - Pelle - Wilson

Going to do Rooney + Pelle --> Aguero + Deeney for the Watford game.

I might have spent too much on defense but I feel like I need Ivan and Kos, and I really want a Southampton and West Brom defender. I plan to play 3 in the back so I (hopefully) won't need a fifth defender since Southampton and West Brom rotate well. I also don't really like the looks of any of the ~5.5m midfielders (prefer the 5.0 defenders more than Mahrez) which why I didn't go for 4.5 defenders.

      RMT Please !

      Schmeichel (Hennessey)

Richards - Martin - Coates (Muniesa & Williams)

      Ritchie - Hazard(Vc) - Walcott(C) - Redmond (Chadl)

      Wilson - Pellè – Rooney

      5.5 million In the bank
But (0.5m Hennessey to Speroni when fit)
And 5m (Pellè to Agüero in Gw4)

Trying a five way Rotation at the back this year. Best I could come up with and picked the best pair of GK's with a differential to the defence.
      (Gk) Lec/Cpa
      (Def) Sto/Nor - Sun/Swa - Sto/Swa - Nor/Ava - Ava/Swa
      (Mid) Nor/Bou

Hennessey or McCarthy while Speroni is out ?
Who is the most nailed stoke central defender (4.5m) now that shawcross is injured?
I picked Muniesa for the moment !
Who is more nailed ? O’Shea, Coates or Kaboul ?
Martin over Bassong at the moment.
Might switch in Ozil if Walcott doesn’t deliver
I have picked Redmond over Johnson as he is a risk as he played left back recently and with the arrival of Brady! What do ye think ?
Wilson to Deeney When his fixtures improve.
I was also thinking maybe Wilson to Kane until Agüero Returns ? Since I have 5.5m ITB.

Any Suggestions Welcome ! Thank you

Whats the story with Agüero lads ?

        A. Should we leave room for him to come in (Gw4) ?
        B. Start with him ?
        C. start without him ?

Plan to transfer him in. 5.5 in the bank does just as little for your team as Aguero sitting on your bench. OR... You could put him in from the start. Apparently he's in with a shout.

        @cantona's demons

palace have a nasty run of fixtures and we don't really know which of their keepers will start and whether or not speroni will get back in (unless I'm out of date)...I think you'd be better with the 2 leicester keepers...they have a long run of good fixtures

despite the fixtures I don't fancy villa for clean sheets but you could try sinclair instead of redmond for a few weeks (although I'm unsure how long he'll keep grealish out)...the cash you save lets you get cedric which is one heck of an upgrade

Ok Thanks. But Palace rotate well with lec for the whole season almost as good as nor/sto one. Yea im just trying something new at the back. Yea i have looked at sinclair may be just a temporary solution like you said. Thank you. Best of luck this year

Steven Taylor isn't nailed on. Just needed a 4.0 defender that I bench. Bentaleb is also going to be a bench warmer but he starts and gets 2-3 points a game. Just using some cheaper players due to the tight budget.

if you want my opinion that's a strong team to start with but a forward line of Aguero-Deeney-Wilson doesn't impress me...the leading teams are the safe bets for lots of goals...I like 7 strong attackers if possible and you're starting with 6 and planning on reducing this to 5

but on the plus side you have a stellar defence and you might well be tempted to play 4 at the back some weeks

so I think if you're spending that much in defence you'll be better choosing only one of aguero, hazard and sanchez

Targett for GW's two and three hopefully. Then change to any starting 4.0m if there is one. Bentaleb is just bench fodder.

      @ the wayfarer

picking a bournemouth defender is a real high-risk strategy especially with a non-playing defender in your backline

I call your good fixtures and possible francis assists and raise you your eccentric keeper, inexperienced defence and attacking philosophy

I'm liking Bournemouth's early fixtures though, this is only an 8 week team really. GK-wise, Ruddy has decent fixtures in this period and will collect quite a few save points. Chelsea, Arsenal and Southampton in defence are good bets I reckon.

        Cheers for the opinions.

Do you have 0.5m ITB Hennessey to Speroni when he is fit in about 3-4 weeks. I hope Fletcher is a bench warmer may have too look else where otherwise. Good team other than that.

      I hate your keepers

palace have nasty fixtures, you don't know whether hennessy will play and you don't know when or if speroni will get back in...he'll be fit by the time the palace fixtures get better anyway

meantime stoke have shawcross injured, an inexperienced keeper, an attacking philosophy and they can't defend for toffee

Hey guys, new around these parts, a casual glance would be a great help, RMT please:

    Ruddy---Rudd (Bottled the rotation)

    Koscielny---Cedric---Coates---Francis---Huth (3 way rotation)

    Fabregas---Sterling---Ozil---Mane---Ritchie (Sakho rotation - 343 to 352)

    Rooney(C)---Kane---Sakho (Ritchie rotation)

    0.0 ITB

    Notes:
Is no Chelsea defence an issue considering poorish fixtures?
Doing Ritchie/Sakho rotation - money on the bench i know, but fancy the punt
I feel that Walcott is a transfer waiting to happen and really believe this will be Ozil's big season
Aimed to spread money to have lots of flexibility and thus don't want any lower limit players
Toying with Mahrez/Vardy inclusion, haven't been convinced beyond my SR rotation plan, thoughts?

    Random considerations:
Option: A) Francis, Mane, Kane vs B) Azpilicueta, Chadli, Pelle (+ 1M)

    Aguero option for GW1:
Kane > Aguero, Sakho > Wilson, Sterling > Chadli, Ritchie > Mahrez

Thanks and grim about the long post.

    What does everyone think?

Personally, I find that Chelsea are fixture-proof (definitely no bias) so I feel like a Chelsea defender is a safe option. I'm not a fan of the Ritchie/Sahko rotation, I feel like you do better with a cheaper forward. Wilson, Deeney and Defoe look like good options. Don't know how I feel about Kane. I don't think he'll produce as much and Benteke may be a better option. Overall though, I like the team.

        In order:

        1. Yes, Ritchie is better because he's on set pieces and because his team appears to run through him specifically in a way that it does not for Sinclair.

        2. Not necessarily, especially if you're not counting on them on a weekly basis. Just be prepared to pull the rip chord if the go off the boil early on.

        3. The only thing that worries me is the neither Hennessey nor Myhill are the starting goalkeeper for their respective teams. Both are deputizing for injured players that should be back in the next month or two. I'd hate to see you spend 2 transfers (or more, depending upon price fluctuations) to fix your 'keepers.

I like it, probably about an 8/10.

      Only worries...

      1. Richards may not be the best option in that Villa backline.
      2. Fletcher may not start every game? Westwood is safer I think.
      3. Not huge on Cazorla, heavy emphasis on set-pieces for output, if you could find the £0.5m for Walcott that would improve it.

      1. Jared Dunn
        • 10 Years

        Cheers Parm.

        1. Was under the impression as he's captain I'll be guaranteed some points and I doubt he'll play that often in my starting 11.
        2. Once again, very rarely going to play but I will take that into consideration.
        3. Not too sure where that 0.5 could come from and I also feel that if Walcott doesn't hit the ground running it'll be a transfer out where as Cazorla is a more secure pick.

          1. Every considered a Sunderland or Leicester defender instead? A better defence and probably better fixtures to.

          3. Fair enough, i'm more of a risk taker so I understand the Cazorla pick.

            1. Didn't look much into defence but I think you've a point. Wasn't too sure on the Sunderland defence but it looks like I might pick Coates over Richards. Plus Richards will more than likely get injured at some stage.

            3. I'll gamble later on in the season but prefer to stay safe in the early weeks.

Cheers for the help Parm, and good luck for the season. 🙂

Looks good. I think it is difficult to fit Kun in, I have a plan to get him, but too many factors could change my mind on transfers I want to make. I would say have a rough idea of who you want to take out, but be flexible and transfer out players off form for a potential bargain.

    Lescott, Cédric, Morgan, Mings, Coates.

          Okay.
Otherwise, i'd prefer Huth over Morgan, and maybe downgrade Lukaku to Sakho or Deeney because you already have spent a lot of money on forwards. Then you could look to get in a Chelsea defender.

Lukaku to Sakho GW2 then re-evaluate I reckon. I think Chelsea GW1 fixture masks what is a poor month or two for them fixture-wise, I can see a lot of Chelsea investors disappointed at their slow start.

      Very good team.

0.5 could be spend upgrading Defoe to Vardy maybe but both have great fixtures so it's up to you really.

    RMT:

Schmeichel, Ruddy - I now it's not Rutland, but I like it this way

    Koscielny, Cedric, Francis, Huth, Richards

    Hazard, Walcott, Ozil, Mane, Westwood

    Rooney, Benteke, Wilson

ITB: 0.5, I'm scared of price rises, so I want to keep this, just in case. Plane is to get Aguero fow GW3 or 4, by downgrading Ozil/Walcott, and upgrading Rooney.

    Azpi, Kos, Fonte (Huth, Clyne)
    Haz, Caz, Henderson, Ritchie, Mane
    Rooney, Wilson, Sakho

    343 or 352

The defense will be strong for many game weeks forward with a decent rotation.

    Feedback?

Defense looks too strong I think, downgrade there and you can strengthen upfront. Rotate between 343 and 352 depending on fixtures I would say.

    Rate my team please guys

    Butland 4.0 Hennessey

Ivanovic X X (Huth – Cedric – PVA roation for 2 slots, and 4.0 Targett

Hazard Cazorla Payet Mahrez 4.5 Corquelin

    Kane Rooney Pelle 0.5 ITB

Thiking off using Bench Card first 2 weeks whilst the 4.0 defender is plaing and second keeper

I’ve not stopped switching between Mane and Sakho or Payet and Pelle

Thinking off getting Aguero gameweek4 take Rooney, Pelle and PVA out for Aguero Sakho and a 4.5 defender

    Something a bit different...

    Schmeichel - Hennessey
    Cedric - Jenkinson - Morgan - Coates - Francis
    Walcott - Fabregas - Chadli - Milner - Surman
    Aguero - Rooney - Pelle

    Main worries:
    No Benteke
    No Hazard
    No Kane

You can't have them all I guess...

    Anything you'd suggest?

Not sure about Fábregas' goal threat when players like Mané and Memphis offer a lot more in that aspect and come a lot cheaper. It seems as though he's in there for the sake of cover rather than anything else.

      Otherwise looking good.

I get what you mean, I usually favour goal scorers too... 😕

        .
But those players can't keep up with his ppg. He gets assists, bonus, and the odd goal.

        Also...

First half v Second half of the season (Goals & Assists)
        09-10: 19 v 9
        10-11: 9 v 5
        11-12: 13 v 4
        13-14: 16 v 5
        14-15: 15 v 2

        Coincidence?

Having Aguero from the start may be a risk, but hey, he's Aguero he may score from the bench. I wouldn't worry about Benteke or Kane as you forwards are great already. I'm going with Hazard since I'm to scared to go without him. I think Hendo is the better choice than Milner.

      Looks good to go.

Not many faults, wouldn't be too sure on double Chelsea midfield though. I'd maybe downgrade Fab to maybe Chadli who has some great fixtures and is nailed in an attacking Spurs side. As a result I'd maybe upgrade Deeney to Sakho and use the remaining £1.0 for any future transfers.

      Good luck!

0.0 ITB. Considering the GK rotation (Adrian/Boruc, Ruddy/Butland?), also concerned about Walcott over say Ramsey or Ozil.

    Good to go?

    Myhill Hennessey
    Azpi Kosc Huth Coates Targett
    Hazard Walcott Ozil Mane Fletcher
    Rooney Benteke Wilson

£0.5m left in the Aguero bank.

Really wanted WBA defensive cover so gone for Myhill. Hennessey covers his tough first few fixtures if he starts.

Mentioned it in another rating above, but Myhill and Hennessey won't start for their teams for the whole season. Also, you have Targett, who is a short-term option. I'd consider changing at least two of those three, otherwise you'll be spending transfers to fix your budget players.

    RMT

    Courtois

    Azpi, Bellerin,Cedric

    Hazard, Depay, Walcott(c)Mahrez

    Aguero, Pelle, Wilson

    Hennessey, Westwood, Coates, Oxford

1.Im undecided if I should double up on Chelsea back line( Courtois, Azpi) or get rotating keepers. Kasper/ Butland and use the 0.5 elsewhere.
    2. Im also in a dilema whether to have Mane and Benteke instead of Depay and Pelle.
Im with the later as I wanted someone from the United - Spurs game( early kick off)

    Thanks for any suggestions.

    Ruddy, Butland

    Azpi, Mertesacker, Cedric, Huth, Francis

    X, Ozil, Walcott, Mane, Hoolahan

    Rooney, Wilson, X

Two questions: 1. Fabregas & Benteke or Hazard & Ulloa/Vardy
    2. Any suggestions for my fifth MD

    Cheers

Do I even need to ask for a rating?

    Butland/Ruddy

    Cedric/Jenkinson/Huth/Mings/Coates

    Hazard/Silva/Walcott/Mane/Ritchie

    Rooney/Sakho/C Wilson

    0.5 in the bank.

The 5-man midfield is back. I think Ritchie will be threatening enough with set-pieces to warrant a place even when Bournemouth's away. Sakho and Wilson will be my rotating forwards, and I can jump on Deeney or any of the other 5.5 forwards if they show some promise. My defense is lightweight, but they have a pretty decent rotation for the first 6-or-so weeks. At the moment, I do NOT intend to do major surgery for Aguero.

Will be wildcarding GW2 (don't ask why) therefore only consider GW1

    Schmeichal | Boruc
    Huth | Mings | Kolarov | Merte | Ivanovic
    Hazard | Ozil | Ramsey | Mahrez | Puncheon
    Rooney | Lukaku | Wilson

Yes, Lukaku is a doubt I know.
I'm not sure about Rooney. Will Costa be fit?

Could do Rooney + Mahrez to Vardy + Fabregas/Depay and upgrade Puncheon? Thoughts

    Ruddy(Butland)
    Bellerin Cedric Huth Azpilicueta(O'Shea)
    Ozil Sterling(or Walcott?)Fabregas Hazard
    Rooney(c)(Grabban, Graham)

GW3 downgrade one of Ozil Sterling or Cesc to upgrade Rooney to Aguero. Not sure who to bring in. Not sold on Sterling or Fabregas. Potentially have Walcott and then get Aguero and Sterling in at the same time? Nothing in the bank. Thanks

I'm most in need of advice around Benteke. I can't decide on him, Kane or Pelle (if Pelle, I would double up on Arsenal mids with Ozil). What would you recommend? Planning on Aguero and Chadli in for Rooney and Sterling GW3/4. Thanks again!

    Here it is :

    Butland Ruddy
    Azpilicueta Mertesacker Cédric Huth Francis
    Hazard Walcott Özil Chadli Fletcher
    Rooney Pelle Sakho

I'm planning on wildcarding in GW 4.

My plan for Aguero at the moment is Rooney + Özil/Walcott => Aguero + Ritchie.

    My main questions are :
    - Özil + Fletcher or Milner + Ritchie?
    - Is it worth going for Schmeichel + Hennessey to save 0.5 to turn Mertesacker into Koscielny?

    Anything else you'd change?

I think it looks good the way it is, keepers are good. I would have Ozil and Fletcher, but that is personal preference I guess.
