The Fantasy Football Scout Rate My Team Surgery

Please use this article to post your Rate My Team (RMT) queries and any questions regarding team selection and our panel will join the discussion to provide input on as many as possible.

The surgery will open run from 9pm until 11pm.

Here’s some quick house rules to read before you post:

      I'd say keep Benteke, Bournemouth up next at Anfield. Bournemouth beaten by the one goal by Villa GW1, not going to be able to keep out any more than that at Anfield IMO

    As of right now 32 points with Sterling yet to play tonight. Any glaring issues anyone wants to chime on?

    1. For me obviously Cech was a disappointment. Sadly Schwarzer doesn't appear to be first team choice, hold out on Cech wait for him to get his form back? Will Wenger drop him?

    2. Jagielka and Fonte let me down big style. I'm considering a quick change up here, but don't have the bench to pull from with bertrand out and baker not playing! Choices?

    3. Went all out with Walcott as captain, thought he had real spark pre season and was likely to play but forgot to consider its either him or Giroud seemingly which screwed us right over. Will likely keep Walcott but find another captain. Fairly OK with my mid and see how they sprite.

    4. Went for all 3 up front, and thought since Jerome was firing off like a mother he would defo be in the team - didn't keep up to date with the very latest news apparently he has a slight knock thus he didnt play much which FPL didn't mention. Going to keep Jerome around and bring him in only when it feels like gold.

    5. Sadly overall I've ended up with a poor bench with 0 points on any of them. I conceded Bertrand might not be on points yet as I knew I wanted to have him for when he returns. I must have misread "25% chance of playing" - suggestions for sorting out this bench? Or is it worth bothering with?

    6. !IMPORTANT! How much is it worth risking point deductions on transfers especially early season? Otherwise its going to be just the one transfer, and if so, what transfer do I make!?

      40 points not too bad for Week 1 considering no goals, Gomez the saviour.

      Week 2 lineup not decided yet, but saved $3M with options to bring in a combination of Sanchez, Aguero and Kane.

      Thinking of Sanchez for Walcott and no point hits in Week 2 or keeping with Walcott and trading out Ritchie for either Ayew or Cabaye.

      Thoughts anyone ?

    Had a disappointing first week but I do have a few steady players that will hit good. I've also got 2.5 in the bank for an aguero/sanchez fund

    I've two problems I need addresed though, my defense and my aguero/sanchez dilemma

    TEAM
    Cech (Butland) - Happy with this
    Darmian, Janmaat, O'shea, (Angella, Baker) - Needs serious work
    Hazard, Cazorla, Sterling, Richie (Bentaleb) - Happy enough
    Rooney, Benteke, Deeney - Also Happy enough with this

    POTENTIAL FIXES
    1. Defense: Darmian, Huth, O'shea, Richards (Any Playing 4.0 defender) - I'm thinking Huth as an immediate transfer for janmaat next week as I somehow overlooked him having 4 big guns in 5 weeks. Then the other players brought in whenever I've got some spare free's

    2. Aguero/Sanchez: As I've 2.5 in the bank, either player can be swapped straight for cazorla or rooney. I'm leaning more towards keeping rooney as I'm thinking there will be a greater gap between Sanchez and Cazorlas points than Aguero and Rooney!

    Looking for some experienced surgeons to help me dissect this one! Haha

      I only got 24 for this week so obviously not a great start at all. My question is whether I should wildcard it or stick with it?

      Obviously my defence is a bit dodgy but I'm a bit disappointed that my midfield scored 0 goals and 0 assists between them. Just wondering if it's worth sticking with them or starting fresh? Thanks.

      New member, first post, but yearly FPL player.

      I'd say, don't panic. It's one gameweek. The majority of people scored low. I got less than you but i still look at my team and think it's laid out pretty well. Wholesale changes are always required.

      Only question mark i would raise is over Naismith. Everton's run of games isn't great. I'd look at Wilson or Deeney for better value and potential returns.

    Hi Guys,

    Long time reader & first time poster, I've just registered and this is my 2nd year as a fantasy player. In the first year my lack of knowledge was actually a great asset as I was willing to punt on so called 'knee-jerk' players which sometimes worked and sometimes didn't, but in the end my -4's for double transfers added up and I ended up 3rd in my mini league. This year I want to be more careful about my tranfers so I picked a team with few punts which I expect to keep for most of the year i.e. putting aguero in for GW1. Like many I have had a disastrous GW1 and am tempted to start double transfers, my eye is on Mahrez and Sanchez and my current team is below.
    I would be grateful if any of you would have a look at my GW1 team and suggest any changes you see appropriate,

    I'm tempted for
    Jagielka --> Darmian GW1
    or
    Drop Walcott and depay for Sanchez and Mahrez.

    any advice is welcome
