    Please RMT

    Cech, Krul
Gomez (LFC), Cedric, Ivanovic, Francis, Oxford (WH)
    Henderson, Hazard, Cazorla, Ritchie, Payet
    Jerome, Benteke, Rooney

Also eager to hear about preferred formation. Looking at last year's scores in fantasy Premier league, midfielders scored on average higher than forwards which could favour a 3-5-2 formation. I've traditionally sticked to 3-4-3. Keen to get your take on this.

    Thanks

I know Simon is starting with a flexible 3-5-2/3-4-3 formation with rotating attackers. I'm definitely in favour of a straight 3-4-3 though. Not convinced you need Krul if you have Cech - I'd rather save 0.5 and upgrade Oxford to a guaranteed starter, especially since Gomez is still something of an unknown.

My reponse was actually quite long, but for some reason most of it was lost. I have 0,5 in the bank and was thinking about trading gomez in to a 5m def as i assume that he'll only play a few GWs. Was thinking coates, but very unsure about the sunderland line-up. Oxford is meant as an outsider as he can also play (if he plays) in midfield and collect some attacking points - but I should probably re-think about krul as you also comment .

Hi, what do you think of this:

    Ruddy (Rudd)
    Ivanovich, Azpi., Cedric (Bacuna, Coates)
    Walcott(c), Ox, Mane, Chadli, Hazard
    Rooney, Wilson (Sakho)

Not sure whether to play Wlson or Bacuna this GW

    Pantillimon Hennessey
    Mertesacker Clyne Bacuna Huth BillyJones
    Hazard Walcott Mane Mahrez Sinclair

I have taken advice on board of banking transfers, hoping this team gets me to GW3

    Hey guys RMT please

not sure on final midfield / striker....?

    Mignolet (ruddy)

    Mertesacker Darmian Targett (Huth) (O'Shea)

Hazard Sterling Walcott Henderson (either Schniederlin or Davies Southampton)

Benteke/Pelle and not sure on Lukaku?? Possibly Sakho for the bench for GW 2??? Or any other striker under 8.5/8.0 depending on final midfield...?

    1. fatboyslick
      • 10 Years
      10 years, 4 months ago

      argghggh

Coates for O'Shea as suggested earlier on as he's more likely to start
I'd skip on Schnie for now until we know if a) he starts ahead of Carrick and b) where he starts
Pelle has had a good preseason. Bennett not typical Rodgers player....yes scored but it was a half chance volley and hardly the typical build up play from Liverpool

      1. Antonj1987

Schniederlin and Carrick will both start I think, Davies has been playing further up the pitch ore season and scored a brace. Could drop back also but will still play. Who do I have for my 3rd striker.....? Jerome or Vardy? Or brink in Sakho for the bench and save the transfer for the following week...?

Would love a RMT if people don't mind:

    Courtois, Butland.
    Mertesaker, Cedric, Huth, Francis, O'Shea.
    Walcott, Hazard, Silva, Redmond, Wanyama.
    Rooney, Pelle, Wilson.

    £1.5m in the bank.

I see a lot of people say they have Ruddy/Butland/Schmeichel - Is that a more points effective method than having someone like Courtois and a 4.0 like Hennessy?

Rooney and Hendo out for Aguero and a 4.5 midfielder in GW3, maybe Bentaleb but I really don't know, is it a bad idea to have two 4.5 mids in my team (Wanyama + Bentaleb eg) or should I try and shave some money off in my defense?

    Courtois / (Hennessy)

Mertesacker / Francis / Azpilicueta / (Cedric) (Williams)

    Hazard / Sterling / Henderson / Ozil / (Wanyama)

    Wilson / Rooney (C) / Pelle

Oxford? not nailed obviously but I assume you plan an early WC?

Westwood? with new signings coming to midfield I don't think he can be relied upon. He had to play every pre-season game because Villa hardly had any CM's left.

Well, this is the probable team that I will start with. I really like the balance it offers, heavy hitter(s) in every position. Don't mind no Rooney, would have only had him as a placeholder for Aguero. Want to monitor the Benteke situation. As a Pool fan, if he does well and I don't have him, I'll still be happy.

    Schmeichel // Hennessey
    Ivanovic // Koscielny // Cédric // Coates // Targett
    Hazard // Walcott // Chadli // Mahrez // Westwood
    Agüero // Pellè // Sakho

May switch Hennessey to Schwarzer, but I like the idea of having some rotation available, especially since there is a chance I will WC fairly early, so I can take the risk.

    Thoughts?

Aguero Hazard Ivanovic and a not nailed on Walcott. Just seems a bit much if I'm honest.

Aguero and Hazard are the best 2 players in the game IMO. Ivanovic starts well, bit of a luxury but allows a downgrade later so it's easy to get others who emerge.

Walcott is fantasy gold. I agree Cazorla or Ozil could outscore him, but he's the most explosive of the lot and I've had him in every one of my drafts.

    take me drunk, im home!

appreciate it if any one willing to criticise my team.

    hazard (c)/ walcoot/ ozil/ mane/ bentaleb
    benteke/ rooney/ pelle

    0 itb

thin dowgrading ozil and pelle can free up funds if necessary

    concerns:

    1. worried if too cheap in defence, personally, partcularly like darmian, also think ivanovic will start well, though expensive

however, harder to free funds from defence, dont really want to change that in first few gws

    2. shoudl i wedge out bentaleb for sinclair, in particular, gw 1 sems best to use 253 card, as would want a 4.5 later in season.

Not a fan of doubling up on Arsenal in the mids. I think it can go horribly wrong with one bad game from them. Would rather see a Man City player like Silva or Sterling there. Tjat said, I set up my team without planned WCs in mind, so if you are planning major changes in the short term, then go for it.

I like the cheapy defense though. That strategy has done me pretty well in the past (Hi Chester, I wish you were still 4.5m!), but this year I am looking more balanced.

i remember chester last season, gw 1 13 points ith ink, if i can remember right.

i think mark, who started this website, is a fan of arsenal doubling, and i am too, considering form and fixtures. it hink ozil is also easily downgradeable for form cheapies, to free up money for aguero

dont think city have great starting fixtures, and want a solid gw 1-3. willl certainly score though, so could regret, also silva not comparably good value

I really don't rate Southampton's defence with all the changes. Stekelenburg is very dodgy keeper, no Bertrand at the start. Caulker was shocking last season. Cedric un-proven in premier league and seemed to be the only first team player that didn't start vs Vittese so I'm slightly concerned.

Its a toss up between Mignolet and spending 0.5 and getting Coutios instead. Chelsea's fixtures in the first 10GW's put me off slightly though

Yeah, but sometime Chelsea keep more clean sheets against the better side than the poorer ones.

Jose reverts to planning to not lose and get a point than win. e.g. City away.

              0-0 all day long.

True true. No Costa early on might result in Mourinho being more pragmatic

Any reason for Shaw over Darmain ?

Also, your not worried about Debuchy pinching Bellerin game time ?

No not at all worried about Debuchy. Bellerin has the Arsenal DNA.

Shaw just seems more attacking and I just fancy it. He's been putting crosses into the box all pre-season

A little too maverick of me.

Always a chance he could start on the bench. Can't see that happening with Rooney or Eden.

Yep done that actually....No guarantee Iva will have another great season. I'm sure i'll be wrong!
Also swapped Oshea for Coares and Richards for Steven T at Newcastle.....is a good set piece taker if he can get a game
