Welcome to our annual attempt to select the best and worst options in the Fantasy Premier League game and assess how the forthcoming Premier League season will pan out.

Unlike previous attempts, last year saw a number of successful predictions from the Scouts. Granville was correct in predicting a stellar debut season for Diego Costa, Danny Ings and Gylfi Sigurdsson, while Jordan Henderson rewarded my faith in him as a budget midfielder.

Naturally we didn’t get it right all the time and there were some noticeable horror predictions. Andre Schurrle’s departure from Chelsea meant Mark’s guess that he would be the year’s best differential proved ill-fated. Nikica Jelavic, meanwhile, failed to live up to the hype generated by Ryan as being the top scoring budget forward of the year.

Here’s the link if you want to remind yourself just how reliable our soothsaying powers can be.

Hopefully in our latest predictions for the forthcoming Premier League our embarrassing picks will be consigned to the past for good.

For a punt,it's not too punty...if you know what I mean.
      I expect him to start.

I did it last game of last season against similar opposition and walked away with 50 odd points so a decent punt.

Hey everyone . In a league with no transfers but wild cards . Playing all out attack chip today with this side :

    Ruddy
    Huth - Mertesacker
    Sinclair - mahrez - Hazard - ozil - Mane
    aguero ! - Rooney - Wilson

    Rudd: Cedric, Taylor, PVA

Any thoughts? See unlimited transfers as an opportunity , save other chips for each wild card

Swapping Mane and Benteke for Henderson and Pelle allows me to get Cech in goal instead of Ruddy. Should I pull the trigger?

Anyone else feeling like hedging their emotions / weekends by captaining someone who doesn't play tomorrow?

Likely captaining someone who doesn't play tomorrow, but not as an emotional hedge.

    Currently on:

    Schmeichel/Mccarthy
    Azpi/Mings/Williams/Coates/Targett
    Hazard/Walcott/Mane/Payet/Anya
    Rooney/Benteke/Wilson

That's with 2.5M in the bank....where to spend it?

    Good to go?
I think my team is quite ready.. still thinking some def players and should i leave that 0.5itb to give some flexibility. Im thankful for any advice.

    Cech (hennessey)

Azpi , Mert , Huth (Coates , Oxford)

Sterling , Özil , Milner , Hazard, Surman

    Rooney , Pelle (Sakho)

    0.5 ITB

I could use that 0.5m to upgrade oxford, but i kind of like the 0.5m to give flexibility to get aguero..
    Like Sterling -> 7m Rooney->Aguero

    Thanks!

Has anyone done a comparison between Mertesacker and Bellerin? Thoughts?

To me one had more end product, but the other's underlying stats suggested they had been unlucky.

super consistent..makes me feel it'll translate..a hot flash in the Championship maybe has a chance, but someone putting up these numbers could notch quite well for his price point

He does play for Watford. I think Wilson is a better choice. Bournemouth will play attacking.

I'm at the point where I don't want to change my team because of the inevitable emotional pain it will cause me if one of the players I drop does well and the replacement flops...I already know how painful that will be.
