Welcome to our annual attempt to select the best and worst options in the Fantasy Premier League game and assess how the forthcoming Premier League season will pan out.

Unlike previous attempts, last year saw a number of successful predictions from the Scouts. Granville was correct in predicting a stellar debut season for Diego Costa, Danny Ings and Gylfi Sigurdsson, while Jordan Henderson rewarded my faith in him as a budget midfielder.

Naturally we didn’t get it right all the time and there were some noticeable horror predictions. Andre Schurrle’s departure from Chelsea meant Mark’s guess that he would be the year’s best differential proved ill-fated. Nikica Jelavic, meanwhile, failed to live up to the hype generated by Ryan as being the top scoring budget forward of the year.

Here’s the link if you want to remind yourself just how reliable our soothsaying powers can be.

Hopefully in our latest predictions for the forthcoming Premier League our embarrassing picks will be consigned to the past for good.

    Ruddy - Butland
    Koscielny - Azpi - Huth - Francis - Coates
    Hazard - Sterling - Ozil - Ritchie - Mahrez

If you really want to do it, downgrade Butland to Rudd. Stoke D is overrated based upon memories of Pulis, ShawX is out, Butland has never proven anything. Not losing much if anything switching Butland to a 4.0.

Thatll work. Walcott is waymore explosive than Ozil. Sure he may lose a few minutes here and therebut ultimately youd consider captaining walcott. But not ozil. And thats where the points are.

RMT - for the first time!

I've gone for balance and options rather than a cheap bench, this is GW1 for me:

    Schmeichel (Fabianski)

    Cedric, Azp, Kos, (Kolarov, Skrtel)

Cazorla (C), Milner, Depay, Sterling (V), Barkley

    Pelle, Benteke (Sakho)

Bit of a heavy bench but will switch GW to GW for what I feel suits best....

    Prediction for Utd - Spurs?

    I think 2-1 (Depay, Young) - (Kane)

Morning everyone. RMT before the craziness starts?

    Myhill, Boruc
    Ivanovic, Huth, Richards, Ward, Coates
    Hazard, Henderson, Walcott, Ritchie, Lallana
    Rooney, Sakho, Pelle

Lallana is punty and I'm not convinced by all my 4.5 DEFs.

Ditch the Lallana plan, keepers too punty. Otherwise good. Downgrading Ivan to Azpi/Kosc could be a good source of funds.

Who do you guys have for the first game of the season then?

Rooney and Chadli here. Hopefully we see goals.

schwarzer for either hennessey/mccarthy lottery at cry palace. then i'd downgrade coates to get .5 for kosc over mert..... and hope staylor starts as he should. you have a great lineup already.
