Welcome to our annual attempt to select the best and worst options in the Fantasy Premier League game and assess how the forthcoming Premier League season will pan out.

Unlike previous attempts, last year saw a number of successful predictions from the Scouts. Granville was correct in predicting a stellar debut season for Diego Costa, Danny Ings and Gylfi Sigurdsson, while Jordan Henderson rewarded my faith in him as a budget midfielder.

Naturally we didn’t get it right all the time and there were some noticeable horror predictions. Andre Schurrle’s departure from Chelsea meant Mark’s guess that he would be the year’s best differential proved ill-fated. Nikica Jelavic, meanwhile, failed to live up to the hype generated by Ryan as being the top scoring budget forward of the year.

Here’s the link if you want to remind yourself just how reliable our soothsaying powers can be.

Hopefully in our latest predictions for the forthcoming Premier League our embarrassing picks will be consigned to the past for good.

I was surprised to hear the FPL winners say that they will opt for an attacking rotation, at least initially.
Maybe as a hope that one of them becomes a bandwagon, every-week player. But I just can't see it working longer-term.

Funny, other years I have done that and it hasn't worked very well so this year I'm switching to the tried and tested 4.5 midfield bench filler. Maybe they're feeling demob happy because there's little chance they will win it again?

No. Taking out one point from midfield / attack can get you Mert from Arsenal. Arsenal has defended really well against the smaller teams over the last two years and now they've got Cech as well.

        • 11 Years

Thanks, this is my original defence. I'll find it hard to rotate them though:

        Koscielny - Ivanovic - Cedric - Francis - Morgan

So i'm thinking downgrade Cedric and Kos and keep the money in the bank to upgrade to Aguero or a stronger midfielder.

I've been a Watford fan since the 80s. I don't know, how could tell?

    Final tinkering

    A Clyne/Tekkers
    B Francis/Kane

Have Rooney/Deeney up front and Kosc/Cedric/Huth as other options at the back.

I'd have to go A, as I've no idea which Spurs could turn up this year. Expect Liverpool to come tearing out of the blocks v Stoke.

Cheers. Not sure about Liverpool or Spurs this season but seem to have ended up with 3 Liverpool somehow so trying to shed one!

    Evening/morning gents,

Long time lurker and just a member this year and last. Decided I'd get more involved in chat and opinions this time around so here it goes...

Had a fairly boilerplate team done up until recently but couldn't resist trying to add something different with a very strong mid 5 and patch up the defence. Would appreciate any thoughts, for or against!

    Schmeichel

    Bellerin Huth Targett

Haz(c) Walcott (vc) Milner Mane Ramsey

    Rooney Benteke

    Ruddy CWilson Francis STaylor

Thanks and rip it to shreds...
