Fantasy Bet is the latest game to catch our eye in our search for new and different ways of playing weekly and daily Fantasy Football. A key factor in this new offering is its simplicity, which replicates the familiar Fantasy Premier League (FPL) rules and scoring.

Another major plus is the focus on customised leagues, offering the chance to create tailor-made contests based on all the week’s games, single matches whilst only allowing players from certain teams to be picked. Those Manchester United fans dreaming of a Manchester City and Liverpool player-free league should definitely take a look.

We’re partnering with the game over the season and Tom Fenley will be opening his account and waging another £100 of stake money, starting this coming Friday. Tom will also be offering player recommendations in tomorrow’s “Weekly Shop” article.

For now though, here’s the full skinny on Fantasy Bet…

What is it?

Understanding the scoring and gameplay of Fantasy Bet couldn’t be simpler for those familiar with FPL. It recreates the same rules of selecting a 15-man squad, with a starting XI, four substitutes and a captain as well as vice captain.

The scoring is also identical to FPL. The only exception is the slightly different bonus points allocation, although it is also based on a performance-based  statistical model as FPL is.

There are slight tweaks, though. While initial player prices mirror FPL, they will remain unchanged until a January transfer window realignment. There’s no need to worry about Riyad Mahrez’ price rise, then.

Another change is that the number of players Fantasy managers can use from one team increases as the pool of teams that can be selected from falls. For a league based on a single match, up to 15 players from one side can be selected if you feel particularly confident they will do the business.

Why Should I Play?

Fantasy Bet’s FPL familiarity makes it an easy game to dive straight into and there is an appealing flexibility around leagues, with free to enter contests as well and entry price leagues.

Although you can only enter one team per league, you can enter as many as you like and also enter the same team in multiple leagues.

In addition, Fantasy Bet has created its own leagues, called “Guaranteed Games”, which offer a cast-iron minimum payout. Once registered and logged in all leagues can be found in the Find Games section.

When playing there are also live points updates during matches, another plus point that always appeals.

How Do I Start?

It is pretty straightforward. Simply register an account for free here. You are then able set up and join leagues.

Leagues can be open to a select group or to all. If you want to only include friends make sure you select the ‘invite only’ option when creating your league.

After joining a league you can then select your team and are taken automatically to the team selection tool and player list.

Fantasy Bet has set up a number of free games, which still offer cash prizes. A good starting point is Fantasy Bet’s Freeroll league.

The deadline to submit a team is also generous, and set 20 minutes before the fixture, so there is plenty of time to take in the teamsheets before your XI take to the turf.

Fantasy Bet, like many weekly Fantasy games, is a form of gambling so you have to be aged over 18 and over to play and, if you do wager some cash, please remember to gamble responsibly.

Right lads. As this weeks community champion, I will be looking for your advice on how we can take down the "experts" scouts picks. I have compiled a list of players I am considering.

    GK-Pants, Fabianski, Adrian, Mignolet
DEF-Darmian,Shaw, Fonte, Toby, Williams, Cresswell, Ogbonna, Oxford, Holebas, Koscielny, Terry, Kolarov, Gomez,Skrtel, Clyne
MID-Young, Mane, Chadli, Eriksen, Lens, Siggy, Ayew, Payet, Sanchez, Silva, Hazard, Coutinho
FOR-Rooney, Pelle, Kane, Defoe, Gomis, Deeney, Sakho, Kun, Benteke

Please comment below if you think I should be considering other players for the team. Also, I am open to any advice you have to offer me in how to defeat the experts scouts picks. Thanks for your help guys. I hope to do the community proud!!

Sanchez to much of a risky pick IMO plus you've only got 85m or something like that. Ayew and Payet in mid are a must

Gomis, Benteke, Payet and Sachez (maybe Ayew) are the top pics for fixtures.

I'd personally leave out the Hazard and Silva this week.

      Patil
      Gomez - Kos - Williams
      Payet - Ayew - Sanchez - Mane
      Gomis - Benteke - Pelle/Rooney

      I like.

Interesting thoughts. I believe that double Swansea attack is unnecessary. Sanchez is the flair pick. Might go Cresswell/Ogbonna over Kos in defence.

I think Toby is a flair pick, he had 3 shots last gameweek. Has a good goalscoring history out of the premiership, and even Spurs can keep cleansheets. The team above is very good. I'd change ayew to lens probably, and get Kane in. Good luck with whatever team you decide

Mahrez not on your list and given the limited budget he's going to be in the expert's list so u should pick him. I would punt on the gk and choose a 4.5'er. Fairly good week to avoid city and chelsea and be punty. Add Jay rod to the list?

Good luck ol boy, form & fixtures

      Fabs
cresswell, clyne, cedric. (Toby also in the mix)
      mane, Erikson, payet, Sanchez
      Gomis, kane, Tekkers

Fabs for me but maybe get good points with panti
good underlying stats for an assist with cress, clyne, ced
Gomis and Kane threaten, Tekkers should complete a Clyne cross
The mids,,, monitor for a Wally start but Sanchez is on like Donkey Kong, Payet feeling his oats, Erikson looked strong v. ManU, and Mane gives great Southy cover

"42.07 As a rule, a player may not play in a UEFA club competition (i.e. UEFA Champions
League and UEFA Europa League, but not UEFA Super Cup) for more than one
club in the course of the same season. Exceptionally, however, a player who has
been fielded in the first, second, third qualifying round or the play-offs of the
UEFA Champions League or UEFA Europa League is entitled to play in the UEFA
Champions League or UEFA Europa League for another club as from the group
    stage."

Trust me, we're only covering about 20% of the games out there that contact us.

      Ever wondered

      1. Why Inter wanted to get rid of him so fast?
      2. Why there were no other takers than Stoke?

It's because he was bloody awful for them, to that extent they wanted him shipped asap.

        • 12 Years

He just didn't suit Inter. Mancini started playing 4-3-1-2 quite soon after they bought him which is not a good formation for him and once he didn't get enough playing time he started to make trouble. He won't have those gametime and formation issues at Stoke.

Here's a good football bet. Pick 2 teams to win. One away and one home. Choose around 11/4 for the away and Evens for the home. Place that bet every day at £5. You will need it only once to make a weekly profit.

Hi guys, relatively new fantasy manager here, posted a couple of times when I was first drafting and you guys were helpful and I was hoping to get a bit of advice.

      My team is:

      Cech (Rudd)

      Azpi Cresswell Kompany (Williams) (Francis)

      Cazorla Silva Fabregas Cabaye (Wanyama)

      Deeney Giroud Rooney.

with 0 money left. next week is obviously a problem with 2 of my defenders and my two most expensive midfielders playing eachother. Is there anything you guys would suggest doing to reduce the impact that match will have? should I reduce how dependent on arsenal my team core is? and i'm confident of putting rooney at captain but if anyone has a reason why I shouldn't I could do with the advice haha.

      Thanks in advance..

Found the Scoutcast to be Knee Jerk City last night. Talk about how Gomis is a great pick, talk about Hazard > Payet, talk about Ivanovich out, come on guys, you are good experienced players, and Granville.

Now onto me, what do you think this week?

    A) Ivanovic & Wilson > Darmian & Gomis (-4)
    B) Wilson > Sakho

Getting Gomis in is highly tempting but Sakho could easily match his points in next 2 games.

I don't think I advocated getting rid of Chelsea if you had them for GW1. I chose to go without at the last minute but, if I had Ivanovic and Hazard, I think I'd stick with them. Too dangerous to shift out unless Chelsea go on letting us down.

I thought Granville was saying he felt that Swansea was a one off. I've convinced myself that it isn't but, like I say, I'm probably doing that because I'm a non-owner.

Would you do Walcott>Sanchez for a FT?

Rest of team would look like this:

    ______________Mignolet___________
    Gomez________Koscielny_____Coates
    Hazard_Chamberlain_Sanchez(c)_Mane
    Rooney________Sakho______Benteke

    Subs: Hennessey, Sinclair, Huth, Saylor

Surprised you're thinking of taking Hazard out. This is a player who scored 233 points last season, don't lose faith in him already. No reason to be transferring him out just because he blanked in 1 game. If he does end up scoring big in the upcoming weeks, you'll have a hard time transferring him back in.

I'm not, but at the minute I'm looking at the next 2 and I think Mourinho will just keep it tight. Losing Ivanovic doesn't seem like a great idea neither

WBA looked horrible vs City so I think Hazard can definitely get a big haul in GW3. As for Ivanovic, I prefer Azpilicueta over him considering he's 1m cheaper and had more PPM than Ivanovic last season and now that he's 100% nailed on, I expect him to be one of the highest scoring defenders this year.

Even though I wrote a post earlier today about why people need to stop taking hits, I'll happily start 4, 8 etc ahead of people before the start of GW2, I think some people have better teams than they think because of such a weird GW1 Dream Team!

Question for anyone though, who are you planning on captaining? I'm thinking Mane or Sakho currently, although I quite fancy a punt on Depay!

This kind of sums up my post from earlier today (don't know if you've seen it), hits are a gamble that you can't know if they'll pay off, whoever you bring in has to score at least 6 to start scoring profit due to the -4

If it's a long term pick it's not so bad either, and this early on I think there's a case to be made for catching / avoiding price rises.

It is 50/50 really whether to take a hit, I just think after how this GW1 has gone that people have forgotten why they picked the players in their team

There's a train of thought that if Hazard isnt considered a captaincy option over a run of fixtures that he's too much of an expensive luxury.

I'm not sure I agree at all to be honest.

This was my thinking prior to GW1.

Then I got him anyway and didn't captain.

Now I'm wondering why I got him as I won't look at him as a captain option for a while. He's taking up a lot of money for a non-captaincy choice.

He has some captainable fixtures coming soon.

O you might be inclined to pick Aguero but Hazard could score equally well or better in those weeks.

And the danger of getting rid of him is missing the haul or the fixture when he is very captainable but owning him is impossible.

Yeah definitely an option but like you say, once fit, especially from GW4 onwards I can't see past Aguero and he would be my choice.

I don't even see myself wanting captain Hazard in 2 or 3 earlier so ultimately he's not great value for money right now (for me).

        Consider the long run then.

        Mahrez ain't scoring 200+ points.

It's easy for people to debate selling Hazard off the back of a blank.

Although to be honest I'd rather I had him differential so they can sell in droves.
