Southampton’s Jordy Clasie suffers an injury setback. Arsene Wenger welcomes back Hector Bellerin ahead of the Crystal Palace trip. Swansea’s Ki Sung-Yeung is set to return to training following injury, whilst David de Gea remains unavailable for selection for United.

Hector Bellerin is back in the Arsenal squad after missing the opening day loss to West Ham with a muscle injury. Meanwhile, Danny Welbeck, Jack Wilshere and Tomas Rosicky remain sidelined for the Gunners. Arsene Wenger has also confirmed that Alexis Sanchez is ready for the weekend, having worked hard during the week.

Newcastle will have Vurnon Anita available for the Swansea clash, with the midfielder returning to training this week after being stretchered off in the stalemate with Southampton. The weekend, however, will come too soon for Paul Dummett and Remy Cabella who remain out with hamstring and thigh injuries respectively.

Ronald Koeman has confirmed that midfielder Jordy Clasie is out for two to three weeks with an ankle injury sustained whilst playing for the Under 21s in midweek. Fellow summer signing Steven Caulker is also ruled out for the weekend with a sinus infection. Koeman remains hopeful that Ryan Bertrand could return to training in two weeks.

Tim Sherwood has conceded that Jack Grealish, Carles Gil and Jores Okore remain sidelined through injury for Villa’s encounter with United tonight.

Roberto Martinez issued some encouraging news ahead of Everton’s trip to Southampton. Gerard Deulofeu, Mo Besic and Aiden McGeady are all expected to be available after missing the season opener with Watford, whilst Kevin Mirallas was due to return to train yesterday after recovering from the ankle problem that forced him off last Saturday. Leighton Baines is out for 12 to 14 weeks, however, after undergoing ankle surgery.

Watford duo Steven Berghuis and Almen Abdi have returned to training after missing last weekend’s draw with Everton through injury. The pair are expected to be available for the weekend, Quique Sanchez Flores has suggested.

Despite reports of his arrest last week, Slaven Bilic has confirmed that Diafra Sakho has trained normally during the week, and forward is available for selection against the Foxes. Elsewhere, Pedro Obiang has returned to training for the Hammers and is in contention for the weekend.

Spurs have a fully-fit squad for the visit of Stoke, according to Mauricio Pochettino. Hugo Lloris and Danny Rose are in contention for first-team returns, whilst Andros Townsend and Alex Pritchard are also available after recovering from injuries.

Mark Hughes has revealed that Peter Odemwingie is ruled out for two weeks with a hamstring injury. Fellow attacker Bojan is expected to step up his recovery with a run-out for the reserves at the weekend. Hughes is also optimistic that Marko Arnautovic and Marc Wilson will be available for the Spurs trip, after injury setbacks suffered at the start of the season.

Swansea midfielder Ki Sung-yeung is set to train after limping off with a hamstring injury against Chelsea last weekend – Garry Monk is expected to make a late decision on his fitness. Defender Jordi Amat is back and available for selection after recovering from a broken metatarsal suffered at the end of last season.

Louis van Gaal has confirmed that David De Gea remains unavailable for selection, due to ongoing transfer speculation. Marcos Rojo remains short of fitness and won’t be considered for the trip to Villa Park.

All this and more has now been updated in the Team News section ahead of tomorrow’s deadline. Keep an eye on our official Twitter Stream as breaking news unfolds.

    Hi guys,

Wondering does anyone have any stats on the breakdown of position of the highest scoring player of each week, say, for last year?

I seem to remember reading about it before.

Torn between Sakho and Pelle for the armband.

Sakho looked very bright against Arsenal and if it were not for some last ditch tackling my Koscielny, he could have got a decent return then. West Ham should be able to showcase their new brand of football at home against Leicester - though LEI are definitely a team on a high at the moment.

Pelle is in good scoring form, Everton do look quite suspect at the back and Southampton look to be very attacking as a team. Jaggy does have the experience to potentially deal with a big forward like Pelle - Stones and him dealt very well with the other donkey (Giroud) in pre-season Barclays trophy.

i'm gonna revaluate Rooney's big hitter status after avl and NEW. Would rather a chelsea attacker instead of Silva so it gives u an extra captain option 🙂 .. imagine choosing between 4 of the best options in teh game every week based on fixture

      Perfectly viable option.

Manager has publicly stated he should be trying to earn an England spot this season and will help him do it. Seems to have curbed his recklessness and is more involved with the set pieces as you say, Great shot on him and can pick a killer pass. I like him playing with Montero and things look rosy for Swans,

But i am unsure whether to start Wilson or Wanyama for 3-5-2

    2. Demí

Definitely Wilson. Wanyama doesn't score or assist. Wilson is a striker, crazy to not play him over Wanyama

    3. Watmore do ya want?
      • 12 Years
      10 years, 6 months ago

Not necessarily. Wanyama plays a holding mid, whose opportunities up the pitch are limited. Plus although in bad form Everton are still a top team on their day.

Btw Wilson had something like 14 touches in the box last week, so keep that in mind

I cant help myself mate.. been doing it for 5 years now 🙂 .. That being said i only do it when they are close to being 50-50's. no clear captain choice in my team this week(No Pool players) so might as well go with the televised game. Same with MNF.. both Ritchie and Mahrez probably gonna get 2's .. it's just that i'll enjoy Ritchie's 2 more
