          basically mahrez is the only decent points scorer, everyone else (rooney depay sakho defenders) getting 1s and 2s.

      I am likely selling pelle for gomis. Will make money on gomis, and over next four fixtures, opponents are equivalent bw saints and swans, with Swansea clearly in better form. Then, barring injuries, will have 1.5m to sell ozil for Silva. Already have kun and Sanchez. Feels right.

          That whole team is just not clicking. I feel form is more important than fixtures, and early on, we have the luxury to trade to make money and go with not hand. Also, Swansea at sunderland is a juicy opportunity for gomis (and ayew).

      Not FPL related, but watching a show called 'Premer League Legends'...there have been some amazing players down the years, the standard has really dropped (but that's a discussion for another time).

        I'd say its risen. Only old farts believe it has gone down. Looking at some Cantona reels, defending was atrocious. Today's athelete is a lot fitter on average as well.

          I'm not old and disagree. I don't mean the standard of defending and so on. I mean the quality of the players. Look at the players in the 90s - 00s zidane, nedved, baggio, ronaldo (original), figo baresi, maldini, gullit, van basten, mattheus, klinsmann, laudrup etc. Too many to mention.

          Now we have Sterling going for 49M.

          What has definitely changed is the workrate and miles run per game, but I'm sure these players would have adapted.

          Defending was miles better then. Compare the top defenders of the 90s and early 00s to the top ones now. I can't really think of any top top defenders nowadays in comparison to the Stam's, Adam's, Cannavaro's..
