Save it for a DGW. There's merit in using it in one of those weeks, but GW4 is too soon imo - you'd only want to do it when there's an irresistible combination of form and fixture - no-one has that much form after three gameweeks.

Last year Kane (low price) meant template teams, which were hard to catchup/differentiate..

This year with so many low priced options (mids/fwds) can see a bit of fun/luck based result.. Finishing 10k this year will be TOUGH!

I think the chips could bring a massive amount of luck into it. Someone could absolutely nail those, and simply have a passable team for the rest of the season, and they'd probably finish in the top 100.

if someone makes a stand, does the cause need to benefit themselves? my post was not about me but the people who came here prior to this GW and read all the posts denigrating early WCs and the people who used them. some people are timid or reticent and choose not to ask questions but to follow the wisdom of the boards. these people now have a terrible team and hardly any points but at least they have a wildcard

🙂 i actually did wildcard. a vanity wildcard that wasn't necessary. therefore i don't include myself in their number. but i was like them once. lurking and taking bites of information to set me on my way. so i understand that there wud be others who operate in the same fashion. there were soooo many posts of the type to which i refer that i reckon quite a few were shamed out of using their WCs by the know it alls. and that p!sses me off 🙁

I agree with you. If the players in your squad are not even looking like they are performing, push the button before it's too late. Oh but Rooney is up against Newcastle next week, oh but Fabregas is playing no 10, oh but Bournemouth have ace fixtures blah blah blah. PULL THE TRIGGER!!

What's a terrible team ? with low scores for these 2 Gws ?
when Top teams start to making the race with fully fit Stars , ppl playing their WCs to get some short term options will be stuck soon , can't have Aguero ( 25+ striker ) Hazard , Sanchez Costa etc

2 sunderland defenders. 2 dropped defenders. bentaleb. players who can't be relied upon to start or score. e.g. some people just made really bad opening teams that are likely to lose them lots of points

Rooney to lukaku and Sinclair to ayew this week for a -4 this week? Feels a bit sketchy with their fixtures, but Rooney looks well past it now. The other replacement I'm considering for Rooney is costa, who I think will come good if his hammy holds together!

Already have aguero, hazard, Sanchez and Benteke with mahrez ably assisting as the other enabler.

Fixtures are fairly shoddy I suppose, not a big fan of gomis long term though in that price range.

17pts this week with 4 players to play. Total of 44pts so far. My worse start ever.

Hold up, that's the fantasy chairman knocking on my door. Do I,

    a) Blame the fantasy media and claim it's preventing my players from expressing themselves

    b) Offer him a fantasy night with my fantasy sister in exchange for no fantasy vote of confidence

    c) Call him a numpty who knows nothing about football and send him to inspect the fantasy prawn sandwiches.

    d) Resign and become a TV pundit so that people rapidly forget what a naff manager I am

    e) Get a grip and stop babbling on hysterically like this

Your early captaincy contenders for next week ?

    Trust Rooney again ?
    Ayew/Gomis v shocking SUN ?
    Sakho/Payet v BOU ?

Sunderland migh suddenly stop conceding and play for a 0-0 result. Rooney still seems the most reasonable choice, but you can predict anything this season so far...

Tomorrow, if Giroud is benched I'll bring in either Aguero or Sanchez.

    Who would you go for?

(I'm on sky, so I can make changes before the games start.)

    Things we've learned

Leicester are continuing last seasons form
Sunderland should've been relegated last season
Southampton are living up to last seasons preseason expectations
    Tottenham are clueless
West Brom will be defensively solid this season
Newcastle will be finishing in the bottom five
