theres lot of different games going on - team value, top weekly score, top weekly rank.

im in a league ($25 entry) with a payout for top overall score, its easier to aim for that that the season win

If Sakho is out for the weekend, I could play Huth or Targett in his place and roll out a 4-4-2.

This is where having a playing squad comes into play I guess. Or you reckon Sakho>Wilson/Diouf is worth a hit?

    Would be playing:

    Panti
Kosc (new) - Kolarov (WAT) - Cedric (NOR) - Huth/Targett
Hazard (CPL) - Yaya (WAT) - Chadli (EVE) - Mahrez (bou)
    Aguero(WAT) - Pelle (NOR)

Yup, just wonder if it's worth a hit. Trying to keep hits to a minimum this season - exercising restraint!

But might be necessary...even considering a late wildcard to this shower of shite

      1. Shifty
        • 12 Years

cheers Ruth. That's got me thinking. Standard confidence booster for strikers. Saw the same with Austin, Ings and Murray last season.

Making me consider a Ozil + Sakho > Silva + Wilson (-4) trade instead of just Ozil > Yaya + 4-4-2.

        What do you reckon?

        1. Ruth_NZ
          • 11 Years
          10 years, 6 months ago

I'd just do Sakho to Wilson and get Silva the week after. Arsenal have a decent fixture. But if you want to get a City mid this week then yes, the -4 looks good.. I'd prefer Silva to Yaya in any case. Man's a magician.

          1. Shifty
            • 12 Years
            10 years, 6 months ago

Definitely willing to roll the dice with a City triple up this week. And yup, do agree with Silva over Yaya. Silva used to be strike me as a shot-shy player, but if the past few games are anything to go by, he's definitely smashed that misconception I have.

I don't think it was a misconception. I think last season he improved and has continued where he left off. Plus he seems to have nailed the #10 role where before he was played wide more often.

Another big group of fallers and a couple of risers.

The masses are definitely catching on and whether we like it or not, an FPL template is forming. Going to be hard to climb the ranks this season imo. Reminds me very much of 2 seasons ago.

    Kun - Diouf - Wilson

    Rudd - Targett - Huth - Benteleb

Frustrated with Hazard, his positioning for the last match was awful, could have replaced Azpilicueta.
Had he played in Willian's place, I guess he would have had a Brace to his name.

Now I think, the only options owning a Chelsea attacker is either with Costa or Pedro!

    Is it worth taking a hit to get this;

    Hazard + Pelle --> Costa + Coutinho/Ozil

    1. Helia

Not sure what to tell you.

Hazard has these lulls and sometimes they're lengthy... and then he finishes the season among the top three scorers.

No idea when he'll turn the corner.

Funny GW3 for me. Have Aguero, Sanchez, Silva and Hazard getting minimal points but still managed to get to 62 points even with Yoshida and Gomez on the bench.

Kolarov, Gradel and Naughton saved my bacon. I think 4-5-1 is best now with my 2 uber cheap strikers of Ighalo and Jerome.

a thought just came into mind.. which would you prefer

    A) Sanchez and Gomis

    B) Ayew and Costa

not going to change what i have in a while (a).. just curious

      (B) by a very long way. Even better if it could be Sigurdsson and Costa.

    Save FT & GTG?

    Butland
    Darmian - Kolarov - Gomez
    Sanchez - Yaya - Payet - Mahrez
    Aguero (C) - Pelle - Gomis

    Schmeichel - Williams - Francis - Fletcher (1FT - 0.3 ITB)

    Cheers.

    Dump Azpi while WCing?

Did Ritchie look good in the WHU game?

Azpi is probably the safest Chelsea defender right now and kindly priced at 6.0. It only depends how soon you think Chelsea will start getting clean sheets. Personally I'd be tempted to keep him unless I really needed the cash elsewhere.

    Play which?

    Francis (LEI) or Huth (bou)

Have got Mahrez (bou) and I'm playing him.

    If you're on a WC, would you spend 5.0 + 4.0 on GK's, or 4.5 + 4.5?

Thinking Fabianski + McCarthy will be better then Schmeichel + Butland

I don't see myself changing my GK's for the rest of the season. If I got with this option it would mean I can't fit in Azpi/Ivan later down the track, who I would much prefer to Courtois. Chelsea also can't defend right now

sorry, saw your reply on email but i'll reply here.

re: the plum fixtures for Diouf/Wilson, I think as long as you're committed to a 3-5-2 with either of them as a 2nd striker - it should work out. I just feel that if you're 100% going 3-5-2 over 3-4-3, I would want chuck-and-forget players in defence + attack, giving you maximum flex for midfield - because that's where you will want to maximize points and focus trades on with form/fixture in mind.

      3-4-3
2 defenders nailed on, 2 to rotate, 1 fodder.
2 mids nailed on, transfers on the other 2
1 striker nailed on, transfers on the other 2

      3-5-2
3 defenders nailed on, 2 playing options for emergencies
1-2 mids nailed on, keeping things fluid for the other 3-4 mids.
2 strikers nailed on, 1 fodder.

If you are in the league, you are safe.
If they are scores after hits, you're fine.
      League is just about updated.

Capital One Cup (August 26/27) - PL Teams Involved
    ----------
Aston Villa, Leicester City, Crystal Palace, AFC Bournemouth, Stoke City, Newcastle United, Watford, Norwich City, Sunderland, Swansea City, West Bromwich Albion, Everton

It's better to wait for couple of days before bringing in players from above teams.. injuries, suspensions etc could affect teams..
