Forget two fat ladies, in ScoutCast Bingo it’s all about three men with paunches chatting Fantasy Football fortunes, rattling out a few familiar clichés along the way.

Thanks to Numb’s witty community contribution, this week’s episode finds us gripping our dabbers in preparation for mispronunciations, dropped connections and a regular helping of “blimeys”.

Around those fun and games, we tackle the serious matters – assessing the merits of Sergio Aguero, Callum Wilson’s replacements and my range of Christmas jumpers.

All those hard-hitting issues are addressed via another round of community questions, following on from our review of Gameweek 7 as Granville fights the urge to gloat having opened up a 40 point lead over yours truly.

This episode of the ScoutCast was broadcast live on our YouTube channel on Wednesday evening. You can view the full Google Hangout on the larger player below.

Mark Mark created the beast. He's now looking to tame it.

Everyone is worried about Dier and his 4YC. He will be out 1 game whoop de doo. You have coverage. I think Dier is the better scoring threat for both goals and baps compared to Toby. Good choice. I like it. I prefer Sakho for the next 2 weeks compared to Pelle but thats personal preference

      Nice!
      Dier -> Toby
      But very nice team.

Goalies -> Looking to get those in the coming weeks (or rather get Myhil 😉 )
Defence -> Right teams, I would pick different players
Mid -> Beautiful, bar Westwood, I would upgrade him if you can
For -> All three great picks if you still believe in Kun.

      Best of luck mate 🙂

thanks for your advice, I really appreciate it.

I wildcarded as early as I could, and already caught 0.1 rise on Dier, would you still go Toby?

Goalies, thanks. Im a little concerned about Hennessey game time, but im sure Myhill has me covered.

Defence, oh really? who would you go for instead?

Westwood.....I want bench fodder, not decisions to make, just leave him there and take 2-3 points if i need it

and im too scared to go without aguero

i really don't rate sterling as a real player or an fpl player! think city will realise they've made a mistake eventually.

i think a city double up is definitely a good idea. just need the right city player. KDB a good shout.

          • 12 Years
          10 years, 9 months ago

I quite like him to be honest even if he's not been the sharpest shooter, my brother and I agreed as Arsenal fans in the off season that we'd have taken a straight swap with Liverpool for Walcott and Sterling.

          1. the axolotl
            • 14 Years
            10 years, 9 months ago

yeah, there's just something about him i don't like. then again he's done pretty well the last few seasons, maybe not that bad an option to be fair in fpl. more so i don't think he's good enough for an intricate footballing side, really just a "loads of space" player. walcott maybe a bit similar but i'd still take him ahead of sterling easily. way more composure

              • 12 Years
              10 years, 9 months ago

Sterling is 6 years younger than Walcott but looks to be very similar, including in terms of composure, to 20 year old Walcott. This is largely what we based our idea on. Now for two seasons obviously take the player in his prime but I'd rather Sterling in my squad.

                    • 12 Years
                    10 years, 9 months ago

Aye but pace like theirs unlocks a lot of defences.

                10 years, 9 months ago

fair point that walcott's composure has improved, it has. doesn't mean sterling's will though, i personally don't think it will that much.

                  • 12 Years
                  10 years, 9 months ago

Also I don't think Walcott's has improved that much. He still converts "big chances" well below average. Which is something most Arsenal fans would say just from the eye test. He often finishes the ones you dont expect him to from wide angles while fluffing the easy ones.

                  1. the axolotl
                    • 14 Years
                    10 years, 9 months ago

i think many of his big chances comes from through balls where he's 1 on 1 (due to his pace and timing), which many people think is a really easy chance but it isn't really. only the best strikers score them with serious regularity. walcott is by no means a great finisher, just a considerably better one that sterling imo.

                      10 years, 9 months ago

I dunno, they get OPTA's seal of approval as "big chances" and they've made a business of being the guys with the data. I agree that he is better than Sterling currently though.

No opt for Vardy 3 weeks ago and in this period they both scored 24, I won't double up. Haven't had Mahrez at all and I'm 89k

Not overly impressed by the 4.5 options. Id' look for the money for DDG, Lloris or Steke.

As a second GK, I tend to go for someone involved in a relegation battle. The save points tend to stack up.

Looking at the Opta stats for Chances Conceded..how is it oriented?

Is Chances Conceded (Left) mean the leftback is at fault, or the opponent's left wing? I imagine it's the former.

So in terms of chances conceded (left):

NEW, WHM, CPL, NOR and EVE have weak left flanks, hence attackers from the opposing team's right should do well against these teams.

I used this for daily fantasy, and picked Janmaat two weeks ago when he played against Watford, ended up getting me a goal and lots of dollars.

I believe its from the team concerned's side. This should be true for chances created too.

Any good keeper options popular at the moment?

I want to spend less than 10mil, i dont mind if its one keeper and a bench fodder or a rotation

    DDG + Hennessey?

    Butland + Myhill?

    Lloris?

it depends on your defence ... you need WBA def./GK imo
      so Dawson+DDG+Hennes.

Just a question for the future.

Have the rules changed regarding team value building with your wc? In the past I picked the likely risers right after wild carding and built value (a little). Then picked desired team before kickoff. This year it's not possible?? Or have I misunderstood?

    1. the axolotl
      • 14 Years

the consensus is that players bought during WC don't count towards price rise (or not as much).

it's much less apparent now because most players have played their WC, so price sites should get more accurate as season goes on.

really struggling with KDB vs Mata, If I go for Mata, I am happy and I have the money I need. but Im worried about KDB.

If I go with KDB, Im struggling for GK Def money, and I still want mata....
