Four sides with strong fixtures dominate my thinking this week, with Spurs, Everton, Manchester City and Southampton all facing prime candidates for relegation. With attacking and defensive assets from that quartet seeming well set for points, I’ve built my entire first XI around many of their main men.

If you are unfamiliar with FantasyBet, it is particularly accessible for those who play Fantasy Premier League, as it uses the same initial player prices and has a similar scoring system.

My Team

This is the team I will play in the freeroll:
Hugo Lloris (5m)
Virgil van Dijk (5.5m)
Aleksandar Kolarov (5.5m)
Seamus Coleman (6m)
Kevin de Bruyne (10m)
Raheem Sterling (9m)
Ross Barkley (6.5m)
Sadio Mane (8m)
Harry Kane (9.5m)
Romelu Lukaku (8m)
Graziano Pelle (8m)

Key Picks

Hugo Lloris: The Frenchman’s prospects have been strengthened this season due to an upturn in resilience in Mauricio Pochettino’s second year at the helm. Spurs have conceded just a single goal in their last four home matches – against Manchester City – and now host a managerless Villa side with one goal in the previous three.

Virgil van Dijk: Southampton’s summer signing netted ten times for Scottish Champions Celtic last season and also provided six assists, an astonishing record for a centre back. Two goals in his first six Premier League appearances indicates Van Dijk has maintained his attacking threat as the Saints welcome Bournemouth to St Mary’s.

Kevin de Bruyne: The Belgian’s form since returning to the Premier League has been nothing short of sensational. De Bruyne has racked up six goals and as many assists in 11 matches across all competitions for City and now hosts a Norwich side that conceded six at Newcastle in their last road trip.

Romelu Lukaku: Despite a tough opening schedule that pitted him against all of last season’s top eight in the first ten fixtures, the Everton striker has already found the net on five occasions. Given that weekend visitors Sunderland have conceded more shots in the box (103) than any other team, Lukaku could even be worth backing as captain this week.

This Week’s Game Picks

As usual there is an End of Week bargain game that covers three of those four teams mentioned above. It’s only £1.10 to enter and has a £75 guaranteed pot.

The Grand Weekend is FantasyBet’s biggest game, where your compete for a £1000 guaranteed prize pool on a £5.50 buy in.

As always the best place to start if you’re new to FantasyBet is the Weekly Freeroll, where you set up a weekly team and compete for £100 for free.

Last Week

A positive week overall, with a fifteenth placed finish in the £1000 game brining home £9 winnings. Laurent Koscielny and Harry Kane provided the bulk of the points, and although failing to captain the latter cost me a higher finish, a profit nonetheless is welcome. Another £7.44 in winnings arrived from the Saturday Double Up and the Flash Freeroll, leaving me with a £97.81 pot.

This Week’s Stake

I will enter all of the games mentioned in the section above and will also dabble in the Saturday Double-up, as well as the £50 flash freeroll and, as usual, the FFScout Picks League this week, for a total stake of £11.

In addition, I’ll be going up against S Kuqi, the Community champion in this week’s Scout Picks. He will be taking me on in a specially set up head-to-head game for a chance to win free entry into a £400 Guaranteed ‘Big Weekly’ game worth £22. Also the Community Champion who beats the Scout Picks by the highest margin every month will win a free entry into the £500 guaranteed ‘Boss’ game worth £55.

FFScout Picks League

FFS member Anony42mous topped last week’s Scout Picks league with 79 points. His decision to captain Kane was inspired, with the Spurs’ forward supplying 34 points, whilst tripling up on the West Brom defence also paid off, as the Baggies assets brought in another 20 points between them. The Scout Picks accumulated 41 points, leaving us in 26th – I captained Riyad Mahrez, who was, alongside Craig Dawson, our top scoring pick with six points.

Once again, FantasyBet have provided a £100 pot for the FFScout Picks League, with a £1.10 stake for entry. I will enter our Scout Picks as closely as possible, given a 15-man squad is required with the 100m budget and a captain also needs to be selected. Feel free to go up against them this week and pick your own squad on FantasyBet.

Bony will start. If he doesn't, I'll get over it pretty quickly with Igahlo on the bench.

Just don't captain him if you're feeling twitchy!

I'd keep both; although worth getting Mane in, Iheanacho's game time is probably the last ten mins of a game at best.

Moreno or Jones starting next week? I know it's next week but I am tight on funds and it influences my decision this week.

    Jones is 5.2m
    Moreno is 4.7m and rising

I have a question, could sound silly.
Is post pressers a good time to make FPL transfers?
Players don't usually train after these final pressers do they?
    Just warm ups before matches?

Want an idea of what veteran FPL managers do.

    Thanks.

Yep, Friday evening is when I tend to make my transfers (in case I forget/sleep through on a Saturday). Should all be clear once the presser is done, unless they have some kind of accident at home on the Friday night.

Baby Face Nelson, in case you don't check back to your Mane being inconsistent post:

Silva has been out, and practically everyone on this site owns at least 3 of the other 5 listed. Sanchez has blanked 6 times he's started this season, Ozil 3, KDB 2 from 6. Mata has blanked 5 times, Cabaye 6, Yaya 5. Mane has blanked in 3 games he has started, 2 of those were the opening 2 of the season. He has 3 goals and 5 assists in his last 6 starts.

I'm not sure what measure you're using for "consistency".

    2FTs, would you do:

    Westwood -> KDB
    Martial -> Lukaku

    Leaves me with:

    Butland
Darmian Kolarov Huth (Williams / Richards)

in our mini league we have prizes for month highest scorer and as saturday is the last chance to get points for that, i've ruled Pelle out as captain (only reason)

Who do you think is best captain choice from these players?

    KDB
    Sanchez
    Vardy
    Mahrez
    Martial
    Wijnaldum

(Pelle and Tadic to play on Sunday)

I think between the top 2?

bookies have KDB 1/1 to score and Sanchez 6/5
