The ScoutCast – Episode 173 – Howler

Following on from Halloween, it’s time to revisit a horror show Gameweek from Granville.

Having gathered an array of green arrows in recent weeks, my ScoutCast co-host produced a pair of transfer howlers, watching on from behind the sofa as both Philippe Coutinho and Riyad Mahrez banged nails into his Gameweek coffin.

Jonty and I do our best to dwell on Granville’s misery for as long as possible, before attempting to cheer him up with similarly scary tales from the community in β€œRough with the Smooth”.

We then take on your questions, debating Leicester’s legs, United’s decline and whether we can actually tame the Fantasy Football troll that is Romelu Lukaku.

This episode of the ScoutCast was broadcast live on Tuesday evening (before the news on Hector Bellerin’s injury) via our YouTube channel.

You can catch the full un-edited version of this episode via the larger player below, or take in the β€œpolished” audio effort via this link or the smaller player.

You can get wind of future episodes by subscribing to our YouTube channel.

Mark Mark created the beast. He's now looking to tame it.

While everyone is looking to get Aguero in. I'll be getting Costa, Chelsea's run in the next 6 is tasty. Chelsea are still Chelsea, they'll come good soon enough.

I'd rather chase for a week than have thier players 10 GWs early and waste time when I could've had other good options. You do realize every fit striker in the top10 in FPL this season scored last GW, it's not like there's a lack options out there. The only risky one is actually Costa and he offers nothing more than Ighalo for example, except that he's 2 times more expensive.

Chelsea are still Chelsea (ie not as attacking as City) and Costa is still Costa (ie not as good as Aguero).

Add in the fact that they're currently in turmoil and I'll happily take Kun over Costa.

    Defence is
Bellerin Darmian Cameron Kolorov Williams....oh dear.

    Would you risk Kolorov?

Or do Kolorov and Darmian to Moreno and Rojo for a -4? Also banking some funds for Aguero?!

Even with Aguero back, if the current front 3 is still banging in goals, there seems to be no immediate need of the Argentine.
I would be happy if Lukaku, Pelle, Ighalo, vardy and Benteke keep delivering. Unless Aguero goes off and gets 25 points.

Well put, Dr. Absence of Aguero creates much greater roster variety / differentiation, and that adds to the game. Many more combinations and risk/rewards.

That's the problem for Bony owners, they don't have the option to hold off bringing him in. Big disadvantage for them if Kun starts off slow while others are still doing well.

    Using AOA and defence is:

    VVD Bellerin (Cresswell Alderweireld Richards)

    a) Save transfer to have 2ft for the break and Cresswell probably comes on for Bellerin

It's a tough one. When in doubt, I favour the home player. And payet has been reasonably consistent whereas lukaku is someone who will go on a run like 2,2,16, 2,2, 17, 2,2,2 etc...considering he's just had a haul, hoping it'll be a week he gets 2 points!

Save your FT, and sell My little Pony next GW when Aguero returns, and use the other FT to good use.

Benzema firstly involved in a sex tape blackmail scandal with Valbuena, now involved in a drug trafficking case. Maybe its best Arsenal didin't buy him after all

SCOUT PICKS CHALLENGE - GW11 RESULTS

Just as a warning - I'm heading off to the Bahamas on Saturday for two weeks for a well deserved break - therefore GW12 results will NOT be posted until near the end of GW13! (Before you ask - I didn't plan it for an international break - that's just great luck!)

***** SCORES ON THE BOARD *****

    1st - Seb10 (70pts) [3pts]
    Top 4% - Pochecinno (67pts), Smooth, TL (66pts) [2pts]
    Top 10% - Reedy, Ameenkw, The Orienteer (65pts), Sully SOnc (64pts) [1pt]

with VS10, IanP1970, Tibbles and MB10 all being only a single point out of the scoring!

The FFS Scout Picks + Differentials scored a combined total of 68 points this gameweek, so only Seb10 wins a bonus point this gameweek folks.

    Things have become static at the top, but definitely a lot of movement down below! Our top 3 are;

    1st - Balders (13pts)
    2nd - Mr.Robot (10pts)
    3rd - Dusan Citizen (9pts)
