Tottenham’s Erik Lamela become the latest player to topple off the Suspension Tightrope after earning his fifth caution of the campaign during this afternoon’s north London derby at the Emirates. The in-form Argentine – whose absence could pave the way for fit-again Heung Min-Son to stake a claim for a starting berth – misses Spurs’ upcoming home match-up against West Ham United but will be available when Chelsea roll up to White Hart Lane in Gameweek 14.

With five new arrivals over the weekend’s fixtures, the Suspension Tightrope is drawing quite the crowd – there’s now an 18-strong band of wrongdoers on four bookings as we head into the international break.

Southampton’s Graziano Pelle is certainly the most pertinent of the new recruits from a Fantasy perspective. The Saints’ leading marksman currently sits at a hefty 34% ownership – having bagged four goals and as many assists in seven starts – and will be wary of committing further indiscretions ahead of a home tie against Aston Villa in Gameweek 15.

The Italian was joined by James McCarthy, Chris Brunt, Glenn Whelan and Cheick Tiote. The Newcastle enforcer has now chalked up more yellow cards (53) than any player in the Premier League since he made the switch to St James’ Park in August 2010.

In terms of new bans, West Brom defender Gareth McAuley received his marching orders for denying Anthony Martial a clear goal scoring opportunity at Old Trafford, making him the only recipient of a red card throughout the weekend. The Northern Ireland international has been handed a one-match suspension and misses out when Arsenal pay visit after the international break, returning for a trip to West Ham in Gameweek 14.

After the 2-0 defeat, Baggies boss Tony Pulis was somewhat critical of the centre-half and acknowledged McAuley’s challenge left referee Mike Dean with little alternative:

“Gareth McAuley (for the red card and penalty) should have stayed on his feet and if the kid scores the kid scores…It’s difficult for Mike. You could feel, with a couple of minutes to go, that he might look at it differently. But the letter of the law says that if he’s last man and he brings him down he has to send him off.”

Aside from McAuley, James Collins is the only other player serving out a suspension during the next round of fixtures. The Hammers’ seasoned centre-back has two fixtures remaining on his three-match ban, ruling him out of a road tie against Tottenham Hotspur and a home clash against West Brom. With Winston Reid back in the frame, however, it’s unlikely that Collins will reclaim a starting berth upon his return.

United’s Matteo Darmian is now available for the upcoming trip to Watford after he fell off last week’s Tightrope. Norwich skipper Russell Martin and Southampton’s Victor Wanyama are both back in contention after they were dismissed during last week’s matches.

As always, mainly thanks to our resident Tightrope expert Anorak, who has been keeping us up-to-date via his twitter stream.

Maybe; if you have Moreno then its a no brainer.

Crazy how average City are without Aguero and Silva. But to be fair, they're two of the best players in the world when fit, so it's not that surprising really. Hard to Assess KDB's or anyone else's performances until they're back.

    1. Swan - Villa Proud
      10 years, 12 months ago

I think that's why I'm holding KDB for now, to asset when All 3 are together. Easier to downgrade to Silva if he performs better

      1. Alittude
        10 years, 12 months ago

yep me too. And also to see if silva can actually say fit.

On wildcard. Thinking this will be the final team in 2 weeks. appreciate any suggestions

    DDG Hennessey
    Bellerin Rojo Dann Moreno Simpson
    KDB Ozil Tadic Payet Lindgard
    Kun Lukaku Vardy

    1.2M ITB

If Kun not declared fit I'll stick with Kane for a bit.

Waiting to asset Payet injury but he may go if unfit. Looking at Tadic as a differential who's also on pens. I've owned Mane since GW1 but feel he's too inconsistent

Why you left 1,2 when you have Kun?
you can upgrade Rojo to Smalling or one of midfielders like Lingard to someone more nailed on

      1. Swan - Villa Proud
        10 years, 12 months ago

Truthfully was just looking to find the best value team regardless of price. I may upgrade Lindgard or maybe just keep Mahrez as my 5th (bought at 5.7). Cheers

I'd trad Dann to a Spurs defender imo. 5.1m is way to expensive for a Palace defender tbh.

Thoughts on this? 1FT and 2.2ITB

    Cech / Gomes
    Bellerin / Moreno / Smalling / Dawson / Janmaat
    Sanchez / KDB / Wanyama / Payet / Mahrez
    Vardy / Pelle / Bony

    A) Bony & Pelle for Kun & Ighalo (-4)
    B) Bony & KDB for Kun & Tadic (-4)
    C) Bony & KDB & Pelle for Kun & Tadic & Lukaku (-8)
    D) Bony & Pelle for Lukaku & Kane (-4)
    E) Any others

Yea wasn't going to do anything straight away. Just getting ideas. Out of those options which one looks the best?

Also the downside about waiting is that it could mean more hits to get the funds.

One morsel of solace from my gameweek, I was the lowest scoring winner out of the 64 grand playoffs matches this weekend!

Unfortunately for the Seychelles, Blue Lion our captain was my opponent 😆

That said, we definitely need to work hard on our fitness over the international break, we can't go into the tournament like Chelsea did!

Surely it's not that bad? Using your FT's to get Agüero, you still have Simpson (new) with a decent chance of a cleanie this week & Toby plus hopefully Kolarov.

I'd had Smalling in at 6.3 with much less itb bank and that'd still have allowed KdB -> 6.8 in the Aguero funding but I wanted the extra insurance of being able to do Lukaku -> Murray so I went for Jones. How much of a difference that would've made is really bloody annoying. I'd be 25K higher 😕

Lukaku to Murray 😯 In a 343/352 hybrid?

That sucks though mate, so many 50/50 calls on paper. I'm sure you'll bounce back.

343 with a power midfield. Needless to say my scouts have not been impressed by Murray for the last two weeks we've gone to watch him.

I see, could be the next Ighalo replacement as their fixture swings coincide perfectly 😯 He's got some very solid stats.

Anyone looking at Yannick Bolasie? Could be good differential, given those fixtures. I'm looking at him for my Yaya replacement. Thoughts?

Got him when Palace fixtures looked really promising a few weeks back, but he was a huge dissapointment for me. I wouln't trust him, even if fixtures are great.

My team is dire, nearly ranked 2 million wtf! Took more hits cause I'm frustrated

    DDG,

    Moreno, Monreal, VVD

    Mahrez, Mane, Ozil, Sanchez, KDB

    Lukaku(C), Vardy (Bony)

    1. JØ

More hits turn into less points. Less points turn into worse ranking. Worse rank means more frustration, and that means even more hits. It's a deadly cycle, many hits won't save your team. Patience will

I think he might come in for Jenkinson at some point, with Tomkins shifted out to the right. Jenkinson has been playing fairly reasonably as of late, chipping in with the odd goal. I would not be looking to bring him in any time soon with our fixtures though either.

    Vardy(c) Martial Pelle

its odd hey? Havent actually seen them play for a while but zero interest in their players Fantasy wise. Is Siggy still playing? Hes gone right off the boil. Gomis was only ever a player to get on when on form, not great quality.

I got him on a wildcard for some reason along with huth who cost me 0.2 terrible decisions I also dropped Williams this week for Moreno should have got rojo but I feel hes a rotation risk he also loves the yellow card

            10 years, 12 months ago

Think Rojo will be my pick when there is the first sign of Kolorov rotation. Personally think Rojo is as nailed as can be in an LVG side

              10 years, 12 months ago

will monitor him and might get him for dawson in a few weeks and if not ill get one of the spurs lads

              10 years, 12 months ago

I think Kolorov is nailed for the time being

Pelli already say Clichy can play as RB, and Sagna jus make it worse yesterday....without Kolorov, i think Man City attack will drop by another 10-20%

              1. Joggers Nipple
                10 years, 12 months ago

i do agree. I just can see some rotation over the busy xmas and hes quite expensive to have rotation risk over. Guess the same could be said for Rojo! Maybe a nailed on Spurs defender is the way to go.

Very bad GW for me. After GW11 I was top 122k.
GW12: Tok one hit. Used AOA. Coin flip between Vardy and Mahrez as captain, ended up with Mahrez ofc. Got 42pts (-4), GWRank: 2.241M . Total Rank: 200K

    How was you're GW?
