We carry out our club-by-club scan of the treatment rooms, on the day that West Ham playmaker Dimitri Payet was ruled out for up to three months with an ankle injury sustained against Everton.

Elsewhere, Liverpool face an anxious wait for the full prognosis on Mamadou Sakho’s knee problem, whilst City are boosted by Sergio Aguero’s progress, as Wilfried Bony is left nursing his hamstring.

Arsenal

Santi Cazorla was replaced by Manuel Flamini at half time of the North London derby, in what initially looked like a tactical decision. Arsene Wenger revealed in his post-match press conference, however, that the Spanish playmaker was suffering from dizziness that affected his mobility:

“We suffered in the first half because Cazorla was at 30 per cent of his potential, he was dizzy. I was sitting there thinking do I take him off or not? You never know, maybe it will get better. At half-time I took him off, and in the second half we had a bit better balance. He is not sick, he was just dizzy and could not move, you could see that on the pitch. I did not really know what he had, so at half-time I took him off, I hope it is nothing bad, but it does not look like it, because he says he is alright now.”

Bournemouth

Eddie Howe confirmed that Marc Pugh – who was withdraw after 45 minutes last Gameweek – was unavailable for selection after failing to shake off a knock.

Chelsea

The Blues defender Kurt Zouma has withdrawn from duties for the France Under 21 side due to an unspecified injury earlier today.

Crystal Palace

Eagles fitness coach John Salako has issued an update on Dwight Gayle, who missed the weekend win over Liverpool due to a hamstring injury:

“Dwight works very hard and, unfortunately, I think he’s got a Grade Two tear – he’s had the scan. He could face three-to-four weeks on the sidelines now. He is young so we’ll see, it could be two weeks, it could be (up to) four.”

Everton

Tyias Browning picked up a minor knee injury in training during the week, ruling him out for England U21’s match-up against Bosnia on Thursday. Toffees boss Roberto Martinez went on to say:

“We had a warm-up game on Wednesday and he picked up an injury in his knee. It is nothing serious but we’ll have to speak with England and manage that situation. I don’t think he’ll be available for the next game, but he could be available for the game against Switzerland in Brighton.”

Fellow full-back Brendan Galloway is also being assessed ahead of England U21’s upcoming pair of matches. Earlier today, manager Gareth Southgate revealed:

“Brendan is being assessed now, he is with us. It’s a muscular injury but we don’t want to take any chances. Maybe he is okay for Thursday; maybe he is okay for Monday. We don’t know.”

Liverpool

The Merseysiders were rocked earlier this evening after scans confirmed that Mamadou Sakho is set for a period on the sidelines after limping off early during the weekend loss to Palace. Liverpool expect to discover the likely period of absence tomorrow, with the Frenchman set to see a specialist.

Jordon Ibe has withdrawn from England U21 duties against Bosnia and Switzerland with a knee injury, The youngster suffered no more than bruising, though, and is expected to be available for the Gameweek 13 trip to City.

James Milner sat out Sunday’s defeat having suffered a hamstring injury in their Europa League clash against Rubin Kazan. After the Anfield loss, Jurgen Klopp played down the severity of the injury:

“In Kazan, he had not the best moment with his muscle. But he’s an experienced player, and it was nothing serious and in this moment he can train.”

Manchester City

Wilfried Bony pulled up with a hamstring problem at Villa Park and had to be substituted at the 24-minute mark. Although Manuel Pellegrini doesn’t expect the Ivorian to play for his country during the international break, he did suggest that Bony could travel with the squad to get his injury assessed:

“It is difficult to know at this moment how serious his hamstring injury is. We will see tomorrow. I don’t know – maybe he will have to go and join up with Ivory Coast. His country must review the injury. But I don’t think he will be able to play and he will return to Manchester.”

In more positive developments for the Sky Blues, Pellegrini reported that a quartet of injured players are progressing well in their rehabilitation, with Sergio Aguero targeting a return next Gamweek against Liverpool:

“I hope that this week he [Aguero], (David) Silva, (Samir) Nasri and (Pablo) Zabaleta, will work with the physiotherapist and next Monday they will start working with the squad. We will see in the way he improves this week, but I think there is a chance he can be (back for Liverpool).”

Earlier today, Aguero took to twitter to confirm:

“Giving it my all on recovery work. There’s still more to go but getting better by the day!”

Manchester United

Marouane Fellaini missed Manchester United’s 2-0 home win over West Bromwich Albion and will not travel with Belgium ahead of their back-to-back friendlies, given that he sustained an injury in training.

Norwich City

Nathan Redmond was sidelined for the Canaries’ win over Swansea and has withdrawn from international duty with the England U21s, having injured his thigh in midweek.

Newcastle United

In the wake of the Magpies’ 1-0 road victory against Bournemouth, stand-in shot-stopper Rob Elliot revealed that he played against the advice of the club’s doctors. The former Charlton keeper is nursing a thigh injury but is confident that a fortnight of rest will hold him in good stead when Leicester City pay a visit next Gameweek.

“If you ask the manager, I was always playing. If you ask the doctor, then I probably wasn’t playing last week either. I was always going to play, and I didn’t know how good or bad it was going to be. It wasn’t too bad today, it was quite painful and I just had to get underneath the ball and lift it, you just don’t want to let the team down. I said to the manager, if you want me to play I will play, but just so long as I’m not going to hinder the team. I’m going to go and see the specialist and hopefully get some good news off him. Get some treatment, get some strength, get some rest. Hopefully I’ll be ready for Leicester and hopefully (we can) start showing the team that we can be, rather than the team we could be.”

Sunderland

John O’Shea is carrying a hamstring injury and will be assessed by Sunderland’s medical team to determine his availability for Ireland’s Euro 2012 qualifying play-off:

“Rob Elliot, John O’Shea, Paul McShane, Alan Judge, and Shane Long will all be assessed by their respective clubs before reporting for international duty.”

West Ham United

The Hammers have been dealt a major blow after Dimitri Payet was ruled out for around three months with an ankle injury sustained against Everton on Saturday. His replacement against the Toffees, Enner Valencia, was forced off with a similar complaint and will be assessed by a specialist early next week, the club’s official website has revealed.

Has a delta of -51on Fpl stats so probably not tonight maybe tomorrow or later this week. I'm debating who to replace Payet? Mane, Barkley or Delle Alli?

Getting Aguero on a FT is nice. Tempted to captain him if he's deemed fully fit against Liverpool. Might be a nice differential with many waiting to get him. Lovren and Skrtel will really struggle.

My sources are telling me Agüero SHOULD be back for the Liverpool game, he may only get up to 45 minutes but that's all Agüero needs.

I just transferred him in because of this. Goodbye Pellè you've been shite.

Pellè only got 1 goal attempt last GW against SUNDERLAND. Can't see him scoring against an inform Stoke (inform defensively).

Away this season he has had around 10 goal attempts compared to something like 30 at home? Southampton's tactics are different at home.

It's no secret that Pelle is massively better at home than away.

33 shots at home, 12 away.

It's a tactical thing, not a Pelle thing.

Hard to say. Sturridge could play instead of benteke or he could play where Ibe played on sunday. Firmino, coutinho and eventually hendo are probably the most nailed on mids when everyone is fit

Would Klopp play a 442 diamond with Sturridge and Benteke up top?

He might do. I think he favours 4-2-3-1 though. I have no faith that sturridge can stay fit for longer than 10 games

Nah. He would play on the side of a diamond. Firmino is a more attacking player. Coutinho better playing from deep.

Which three strikers regarding value and points do you guys think are the best right now?

    Lukaku - form, fixtures, pens
    Ighalo - form, cheap
Aguero - amazing goal to game ratio, 3 home fixtures in the next 4, pens
    Kane - form, pens
Vardy - form, cheap, maybe on pens

I'm thinking Vardy, Lukaku and Aguero.

When fit yes. He won't be fit enough for the next game and will lack match sharpness imo. The other strikers are all great captain choices 🙂

Fair enough. It is unlikely he'll play that many minutes against Liverpool. I remember he played us before after an injury and scored less in then a minute in haha. I just like Aguero because he makes picking a captain easy. Tinkering between Lukaku or Kane for the next few fixtures might do my head in.

well Payet has forced most people's hand so why not balance the loss of funds with a player that's rising in value over the next 2 weeks

This is what I've thought too but there's always a risk of that player you bring in getting injured. Even if you hedge the value, you may still end up spending points.

a point many are missing here is that it's not just about the players in the transfer in/out but the other 13-14 in your squad capable of getting injured

        • 11 Years

Yes, that's what I was eluding to in my original post 🙂 There's still a risk that one of your other player gets injured which forces you to take a hit to deal with them.

    - STEK or LLORIS as a partner for Myhill. Who has better CS potential and fixtures?

    - Who to bench next week?

    Sanchez KDB Ozil Mane Mahrez
    Lukaku Pelle Vardy

    Cheers

WC done - for now. Payet injury at least made one decision easier.

    DDG Hennesey
    Bellerin Kolarov Simpson Moreno Bertrand
    Ozil KDB Sanchez Alli Mahrez
    Vardy Lukaku Kane

Hoping for a couple more price rises before I finalise the alternative with Aguero option.

Yes, going to work this out over the next week or so. Wanted to get Kane, Lukaku, Ozil in for the rises. Only lost money selling Payet who had to go anyway.

My plan is to downgrade Sanchez to someone and upgrade Kane. Need to work out who the someone is.

Might have to downgrade DDG, Berty or Moreno to leave enough in the bank.

Meh, before i go to bed.

If i get Alli i will need to downgrade Myhill to Hennessey and then do Williams to Moreno (planning gettin Moreno in for Williams no matter what) to get Kun. which could result in -8 over 2 GW total.

If i get Stanislas i risk having issues at xmas time, but will save possible 2 FT and will have to relay on my defenders to push me through until New year.

    Thoughts?

Well he certainly has the fixtures! Is Coutinho a good option iyo? Can't tell with Liverpool.

Feels like he just shoots every time he gets the ball.

1% of the shots go in.

Yeah but seems Klopp is getting the best from him. 3 goals in 2 games!

Red flag means 50% more transfers out needed for price drop.

So how do they determine the actual figures ?

About 10% of ownership selling so 15% with a red flag.
If the player has risen a lot, it can be different.

Nothing about 10 days until they get fit and the flag goes.

When a flag is removed the price is protected for a period

Maybe a bit premature on the KDB move?

      Is Payet dropping tonight?

Come on, just do it. Look at Kane's fixtures until GW25. You really don't want to miss out.
