634x258 Suspensions

Southampton’s Graziano Pelle is the most high profile of this week’s Suspension Tightrope protagonists after collecting a fifth yellow card of the campaign in yesterday’s home loss to Stoke.

The Italian will now miss next weekend’s trip to the Etihad and, although he will return in time for a plum home clash against Villa in Gameweek 15, it’s fair to say the exodus is picking up pace – over 120,000 Fantasy Premier League (FPL) managers have already parted company as we scramble to bring in the likes of Romelu Lukaku and Sergio Aguero.

Pelle earned a late caution for kicking the ball away as his barren run continued – he’s scored just once in the last five Gameweeks. Post-match, Ronaldo Koeman was unhappy over the Italian’s lack of self-restraint:

“It’s all about the frustration of the player. He was not playing well, he was not scoring and the team was not winning, but you have to control yourself always. That’s difficult, we know. But, okay, if it doesn’t happen today maybe it happens next week. It’s always a question if you are one booking from a suspension. It’s always when, when, when it happens. Okay, normally you have to control yourself. He knows. We know. We have to accept it and we will play another [number] nine next week.”

Pelle is one of six players to succumb to a one-match Tightrope ban so far. Liverpool will be devoid of Lucas’ services for their home encounter against Swansea next weekend. Swansea’s Jonjo Shelvey will also miss that Anfield encounter – handed the role in “the hole” at home to Bournemouth, the former Red bagged himself a goal and assist before earning his fifth yellow of the season.

Over at the Hawthorns, Tony Pulis has decisions to make at left-back after Chris Brunt picked up his fifth booking in the Baggies’ home win over Arsenal – the Northern Ireland international now misses next weekend’s trip to West Ham. Mark Noble will also be unavailable for that one after earning his fifth yellow in today’s loss at White Hart Lane, whilst Dele Alli will be absent as Spurs host Chelsea next weekend.

There are now 17 players on this week’s Tightrope, with Gameweek 13 handing us five new entries. Bournemouth playmaker Matt Ritchie, Leicester centre-half Robert Huth, Norwich’s Seb Bassong and Liverpool pair Emre Can and Nathaniel Clyne are the men in question.

Palace duo Wilfried Zaha and Yohan Cabaye, along with Sunderland’s Billy Jones, could yet topple of this week’s Tightrope – all three go into tomorrow’s night’s match at Slehurst Park on four yellows apiece.

In terms of newly-available players, Tottenham will welcome back Erik Lamela for next week’s trip to Stamford Bridge after the Argentine served a one-match ban at home to West Ham earlier today. West Brom will have Gareth McAuley available for their clash with the Hammers after the Irishman missed yesterday’s win over Arsenal.

Slaven Bilic’s side, meanwhile, will be without the services of James Collins once again – the Welshman serves the last of a three-match ban against the Baggies.

How is Moreno rising even after 2,1,2 points in last 3 matches?! Rose 0.2mn even with these scores n that too as a defender...
I mean are the amateurs also going through underlying attacking stats to make their choices now? If yes then no doubt this is the toughest year of FPL by far with million of good players!

Cant console you on this one mate.

I had a similar thought of ditching Sanchez (have Ozil) and Vardy for Coutinho and Kane but I resisted. Over the next 3 fixtures, I can't see myself as a non-Sanchez owner. I have a gut feeling it will be one of his explosion phases again.

    Begovic Hennessey
    Huth Bellerin Francis Kolarov Nyom
    Sanchez Mahrez Ozil KDB Wanyama
    Pelle Lukaku Vardy

    2FT ; 2.5 itb

What move do you prefer here?

    A) Pelle --> Kane
    B) Pelle + KDB + Huth --> Kun + Coutinho + Simpson ( assuming Coutinho fit) for -4
Any other move or advice appreciated.

    Thanks.

Didn't see the Spuds last night, how was Eriksen's performance. Obviously pretty good with 2 assists and 2 bonus points. But was really hoping for a goal. Does he look due?

What to do fellas? 1m ITB, 0FT.

    0.1m off Pelle > Kane for -4 and Aguero only possible for a -8 (KDB + Pelle > 6.6m + Aguero)

    DDG (McCarthy)
    Kolarov, Bellerin, Evans (Darmian, Bertrand)
    Mahrez, KDB, Sanchez, Mahrez, Ayew
    Vardy, Lukaku (Pelle*)

Who will score more over the next 3?
    Vardy: MUN, swa, CHE
    Ighalo: avl, NOR, sun

Not owning Vardy, I'm getting a bit anxious. But at the same time, I don't think that now is the time to bring him in, especially for Ighalo.

Ighalo as he faces poor defences and Watford are more desperate to get points right now than Leicester. Nobody expects from foxes to fight for the title this term

Don't own Vardy, and there's no point in bringing him in now - fixtures are crap and it will show.

I'm very happy with my new team for next week, which has just cost me a -12. But, while I will go to a midfield bench fodder in the next week or so, I couldn't bring myself to lose Bolasie for the NEW game and I've given myself a nightmare of a benching dilemma...

    Butland (sun) - Myhill (whm)
Bellerin (nor) - Moreno (SWA) - Ward (NEW) - van Dijk (mci) - Francis (EVE)
Sanchez (nor) - Özil (nor) - Firmino (SWA) - Mahrez (mun) - Deulofeu (bou)
Aguero (SOT) - Kane (CHE) - Vardy (mun)

Good week to use that AOA?

(Especially if my gamble on Ward winning his place back doesn't pay off)

Oh yeah, I did know that. My bad!

Yeah, I reckon so, the alternative would be bench one of the Leicester two, but that's crazy on current form.

Surprised the pool have only 1 clean sheet in 10. Makes the rush for Moreno curious. Might get a pool mid. Cout in for Ayew or KDB? Ta.

Is Coutinho the weapon of choice? Will wait til later in week. Reckon Klopp isn't as worried about cleanies and theit geggen pressing is tiring hence defensive lapses.

    Cech / Gomes
    Smalling / Dawson / Moreno / Rose / Janmaat
    KDB / Sanchez / Ozil / Mahrez / Wanyama
    Kane / Vardy / Lukaku

Sanchez will not outscore Ozil by 20% more ppg. He is easy to ditch because he is way overpriced and Giroud is blocking his scoring chances.

Walcott is almost back though. I'd be careful. Still, if you really need the cash and there is no way to get it, downgrading to Ozil looks a good option.

oooh.. i've totally forgotten about Wally. Though i'd have to triple up if i choose to get him in 😯 .. Really amazing how almost every attacker at Arsenal(apart from Coquelin) can be considered a viable fpl option. Dont find that in many(any??) teams in the EPL apart from them
