Gameweek 16 bids us farewell with a fascinating head-to-head between Leicester City and Chelsea at the King Power Stadium. No team has been able to prevent the Foxes scoring this season, yet the Blues – notwithstanding their loss against Bournemouth – have tightened up of late, carding four clean sheets in five outings across all competitions.

Over the previous four Gameweeks, Leicester ranked joint-top for goals scored (nine) and joint-second for big chances (nine), underlining the exceptional form of their attacking contingent. Claudio Ranieri’s unit complemented their offensive flair with defensive diligence during that stretch, conceding the joint fewest goals (two), fifth-fewest shots inside the box (23) and second-fewest big chances (three).

Although they conceded just two goals and claimed a couple of clean sheets in their previous four league ties, Chelsea suffered from their paucity of attacking returns. Only Bournemouth (70) tallied more attempts than the Blues (64) between Gameweeks 12-15, yet the champions converted their wealth of chances into the worst goal haul (one), fifth-worst shot accuracy (28.1%) and worst shot-conversion rate (1.6%) in the top-flight.

Hindsight is a wonderful thing, but I think my post from a while ago sums it up:

    http://www.fantasyfootballscout.co.uk/comment/11907658

It didn't make sense to me then why people were so eager to sell Vardy and he has proved my point. Many will look back and wonder why they did sell him, with others trying to justify reasons for it. Either way, it didn't make sense, and still doesn't.

I think that's fair enough. I can see the reasons why some could 'excuse' selling him, even though it wasn't the wise move.

The likes of Aguero would have been a priority at the time, for those without Vardy. I'd say it was more the hope of him discontinuing his scoring that prevented you from buying him than anything, no?

when I played the wc I went Bony, Lukaku, Ighalo

Bony was a short term punt that failed and i got priced out of Kun so went for Kane (and captained v West Ham)

so he's the only one I can ship, it would be nuts to ship Lukaku or Ighalo right now

Then do it. Kane to Vardy

            Who do they play?:

            Everton: No Jags, open game
Pool: If Sakho & Lovren out, Vardy is captain material
City: maybe tough if Kompany is back but still they are leaking

            After that, it's all peachy

      2. Zombie

Then they should. It's like Ramsey all over again.

Past history suggests that teams similar to Leicester will stop producing as much when they have bad fixtures. Evidently it hasn't worked out this time but I think they are the exception not the rule.

Don't like to 'brag' about it, or blow my own trumpet if I make the right call, as I will often make the wrong one too. With this though, there were many people who doubted my thoughts from Mahrez in pre season, to Vardy before his run, and now the pair of them after they have surpassed a century of points.

Some managers have tunnel vision and just focus on the fixtures.

Owning Hazard is another example of just playing the fixtures not the players themselves.
