This afternoon we reveal the results from the first rounds of both the Fantasy Football Scout Cup XII and Members Cup VI and also roll out the second round draws, with the fixtures set to take place in Gameweek 24.

In the Fantasy Football Scout Cup XI four former winners departed at the first hurdle, with Edmond beating CMIFLFC, Wheato getting the better of Gribude, Hazardous Blue defeating Gooner Dave and The Quarrymen seeing off an Aguero-less Mark.

Among our remaining former winners Jonty (that’s me) will face No Luck, mch squares up to Pienaar Colada, sleepingmaster meets another community regular Oghash, Tdubb05 has an encounter with Frazek, Wild Rover will be hoping for victory over United Come On, while Ninja Fit Saints takes on nicool.

The highest-ranked manager left in the Fantasy Football Scout Cup is Chucky 77 – sitting in 122nd place, he faces a tough tie against Vantablack, who is ranked 6,500 places behind him.

Other notable match ups include a FFScout contributors and moderators derby as Greenwindmill takes on Scoutcast co-host Andy85wsm and Billy Gilmore meets Horlicks esq.

The full Fantasy Football Scout Cup XI results from Round 1 can be found here, while the Round 2 draw can be found here.

In the Members Cup, a couple of both former winners were sent packing, with Jimgranty getting the better of Trigg, while Genovoze defeated Acquafresca.

Rhinos’ tally of 90 points proved the highest score of Round 1 and earns him an encounter with CanTheyScore in Round 2.

Key ties in Round 2 also include former FPL winner Dufflinks (aka Simon March)’s match with chetl1985 and Hasselbaink Forever’s clash with the Members Cup’s highest ranked remaining manager Peadarb, who is placed 556th in FPL.

The full Members Cup Round 1 results can be found here, while the Round 2 draw can be found here.

Ok. Yarmolenko thing brought me back. I don't understand it. He's 26-year-old, a winger known mostly for dribbling and not too phenomenal at that either (his 38% rate with only 1.3 completed by 90 in CL is not going to get any better from now on). Why to buy him now, rather than Alex Teixeira who has more tricks, can play central (rest for Özil every now and then?), and much better record in the same competition (Ukrainian League) and in better European competition (CL v EL).

The one advantage I can see is Yarmolenko's better creativity, those 3.1 key passes per 90 in CL this season must look nice, but that's less than 5 matches sample. Other than that, it's EL and Ukrainian league. Well, he's got a plenty of assists there, maybe he'll get some in PL too.

To me it looks like Kiev enjoyed his best years and still made a nice money with him, whereas Arsenal who have 3 players in the top-5 of big chances missed this season are spending the money they could have used to get the goal machine Alex Teixeira to buy a winger who is about to start his decline.

    Rant over.

He is decent on the occasion I have seen him and time is right for him to make a move to a top league.

Can see him taking Theo place

To your other point... I think striker should still be more of a priority but not sure tex is a definite upgrade on giroud. Really they should go big for Augyembang IMO

        So should Liverpool

Sure. Solves the RW question. No doubt. But the time to buy him would have been 2-3 years ago. Probably summer 2013, pretty sure value, but still likely to have his best 2-3 years ahead.

Behave. Yarmolenko is a beast. Wanted him at West Ham for many years now.

Not like he is Andros Townsend level is it?

Of course he isn't a Townsend. In terms of conversion rate, he has a quite good 12.3% career conversion rate in CL/EL. Not very good, mind.

Are Arsenal willing to fork 38m for Teixeira? This whole Yarmo thing is probably your usual January links anyway.

My gut feeling is Alex Teixeira will be playing for Bayern Munich next season, if LFC/CFC don't seal the deal now.

How many DGWers are you looking to get and how many hits would you need to take?

    I'm thinking -

    3 City+2 Liverpool+2 Everton

Would require 4 hits over the next 2 gws but DGWs have always been profitable for me.

1FT and £4.9m in the bank. Go with the obvious Kane > Aguero for free?

    Bench - Toby, Williams, Fletcher

        Schmelliot
        Dann Johnson Dawson (Nyom Moreno)
        KDB* Payet Ramsey Mahrez (Gosling)
        Aguero Lukaku Kane

        2FTs, £0.2m ITB

        KDB > ?

        A) Alli (nor)
        B) Firminio (lei)
        C) City mid - Silva (sun)

Will get in all 3 by GW25 but which is a priority this week? Firminio probably but if he has a blank before his DGW then maybe its worth considering the other 2 or Sanchez even.

Depends if Sanchez's price is due to rise. If so will have to do the swap as if I wait I won't be able to afford him. Need every 0.1. Otherwise keeping. Already been forced into moving for Alli and looks like it'll be the same case with Firmino. Might have to take a -4 hit but it's all part of my long term plan and I think I wanna stick with it.
