Oscar hits a hat-trick and Eden Hazard breaks his goalless streak as Chelsea thrash MK Dons to set up an FA Cup Fifth Round clash with Man City. Elsewhere, Ross Barkley grabs another cup goal and Aaron Lennon weighs in with a goal and assist as Everton breeze past Carlisle.

Oscar treble eases Blues through

Chelsea put on a dominant attacking display as they ran out 5-1 victors over Milton Keynes Dons. Oscar scooped the match ball with a hat-trick, while Eden Hazard netted his first goal in 29 outings from the penalty spot and claimed an assist. Oscar piques our interest as a differential route into the Blues’ resurgent offense ahead of a trip to Watford, but Hazard remains a peripheral concern in light of his dreadful form.

After the match, Guus Hiddink boosted the Brazilian’s Fantasy potential by confirming he is the club’s number one for penalties:

“We have a hierarchy of penalty takers, with Oscar first, but they gave it to him (Hazard) and it’s good he scored. He’s coming back now after a long absence and he needs the rhythm of these games. He played more than an hour and it’s important for the upcoming multitude of games.’

Passed fit following the knee issue he sustained against Arsenal, Diego Costa earned an assist during his 57-minute stint. Willian joined the action in the 64th minute but suffered a late knock, rendering him a doubt for the Hornets encounter, according to Hiddink:

“I was worried a bit, someone stepped on his foot, but I asked him and he said it is no big worries. But we have to see in the upcoming time because we are playing a lot of games and I hope he will recover in two days.”

Meanwhile, Pedro was afforded a second-half cameo on his return from illness. On the rotation front, Kurt Zouma dropped out for Gary Cahill, and Cesar Azpilicueta was usurped by Baba Rahman.

Rounding off the key contributors to Chelsea’s triumph, Burkina Faso international Bertrand Traore etched his name onto the scoresheet. Elsewhere, Cesc Fabregas and Ruben Loftus-Cheek bagged an assist apiece.

Barkley strikes again in Toffees victory

Everton coasted through to the fifth round – booking a trip to Bournemouth – courtesy of a 3-0 win at Carlisle. The likes of Romelu Lukaku and Gerard Deulofeu were unused substitutes, but Ross Barkley was named among the starters and went on to net the Toffees’ third goal. The 7.3-priced midfielder hasn’t scored in a league since Gameweek 14 but, having notched in the midweek Capital One Cup loss to City, now boasts two goals in as many cup outings over the past week, augmenting his appeal at a time when Everton’s schedule looks promising (NEW, sto, WBA). That being said, their blank in Gameweek 27 deters investment in any of their Fantasy assets.

After Kevin Mirallas failed a late fitness test because of a knee knock, Aaron Lennon and Steven Pienaar were tasked with providing the width. The former grabbed a goal and assist, boosting his chances of more league starts. Arouna Kone – who’s fallen down the pecking order and played in just three of the Merseysiders’ previous four league ties – notched the other goal, while Leon Osman and Bryan Oviedo popped up with assists.

Cisse out injured for a couple of months. Suspect he will be gone at the end of the season also.

I'd say Mitrovic up top and Doumbia or Berahino playing off him for the pace.

Is Cresswell worth 0.8 more than Reid? Cress attacking stats are bit "meh" but 3 assist and 1 goal so far.

Yes, I think Targett is a good move, especially with 2 FT there's less risk.

However, with Bellerin/Rose both rotation risks, you may be better served getting someone safer like Dawson, Fuchs or, if you want to spend more, Cresswell.

Moreno has got SUN after this GW, I think he's worth keeping especially when you have deadwood like Mirallas to ditch (and I am saying that as a fellow Mirallas owner too).

I'd do Mirallas to Alli or Drinkwater/Gisling.

      1. Pochecinno
        • 10 Years
        10 years, 2 months ago

Moreno has been a misery to own tbh, I don't see any attacking returns materialising and Liverpool is poor anyway. Not only has he been a terrible pick he has caused me to bench many clean sheets.

My hand may be forced by Mirallas injury news anyway

        1. Milner4eva
          • 13 Years
          10 years, 2 months ago

Yeah, I have had him for a couple of months, and apart from the two consecutive cleanies over Xmas, he has offered pretty much nothing. But I think that the key is letting him go at the right time, as he could still be useful next GW against SUN. After that, I'm gonna be ditching him probably for Simpson as someone suggested above

So got 2FT to fix the Kevin De Bruyne issue.

    How does:
    Ozil --> Firmino
KDB --> Sánchez sound? Leaves me with 1M£ in the bank to use for upgrading one of my ~4M defenders

    Current team:
    Butland
    Simpson, Alderweireld, Bellerin
    Payet, Özil, Mahrez, KDB
    Lukaku, Kane, Aguero

Subs: Hennessey, Alli, Cook, Ryan Bennett

will be a common move I think.

sounds much better than saying Ozil to Sanchez too 🙂

Do you think Drinkwater is worth consideration as a cheap 5th mid?

Nailed, capable of getting returns, and Leicester aren't gonna have any blank weeks for the rest of the season, so he is very helpful in that sense too.

Do you have Mahrez? Or Alli?

Two LEI mids is excessive and if you have Alli as a 5th mid then there is no need.

Only instance it's worth considering is if you have Alli as a 4th mid and no Mahrez.

        Midfield is

        Özil, Mahrez, Alli, Mirallas, Payet

My idea would be to ditch Mirallas for a cheapie and play the other 4 every week (Alli as a 4th mid)

only worry is leicester spots might become tight for some. I already own 3 for example, fuchs, schmeichel and mahrez.

True, I have Mahrez and intend on getting Simpson, so that last spot could be vital.

Wouldn't go out of my way to get him. Still prefer Gosling/Stanislas when fit.

Also takes up a precious Leicester spot

Anyone watch Sunday brunch on channel 4 yesterday? Our sausage roll was on.
    Couldn't believe it.

A guy who write for the mirror just tweeted that we could pip swansea to him as frustrated by ayew deal. I must admit it's not the sort of player I think we need. Desperate for someone with a bit physical presence.....like Ayew.

Yeah, and a bit of fight and mental strength as well. Robinho is not the man for a relegation sxrap, and can't see him getting on particularly well with Allardyce either

Hey guys, really can't make up my mind on this one. Which out of these players would you bench: Ighalo, Mahrez, Barkely, Alli

    I'm currently on Ighalo.
