As a result of last weekend’s FA Cup interlude, we’re treated to two full Gameweeks within the space of a week, starting with eight league ties under the floodlights this evening. Looking at the standout fixtures, Leicester City’s head-to-head with Liverpool pits together two sides that rattled in the goals last Gameweek.

Despite posting a middling tally of five strikes over the last four Gameweeks, the Foxes accrued the joint-fifth-most shots inside the box (34) and joint-most big chances (nine). Illustrating their diligence at the back, no team conceded fewer goals (one) than Claudio Ranieri’s troops during that period. As for the Reds, they notched eight goals and the second-most attempts (77). Although they netted five at Norwich City last time out, the Merseysiders managed one goal in four road matches prior to the Carrow Road showdown, highlighting a real lack of consistency.

On a quest to avenge a 4-0 mauling in the reverse fixture, Arsenal play host to a Southampton outfit that’s carded three successive victories and clean sheets. Only West Bromwich Albion chalked up fewer shots on target (10) than the Gunners (11) across the previous four Gameweeks, demonstrating their drop off on the attacking front. Meanwhile, Saints conceded nine fewer shots inside the box (11) than any team and the joint-fewest big chances (two), which points towards a keenly contested encounter.

Sunderland welcome a Manchester City squad that’s in the midst of a six-match unbeaten streak. The Black Cats boast one of the league’s form attacks, having mustered the joint-most goals (nine) and carded the best shot-conversion rate (25.7%) over the last four Gameweeks. Equally, the Sky Blues’ offense fared well, bagging eight goals and the second-most shots inside the box (42). Man City’s rearguard held up their end of the bargain, too, and was only breached on three occasions.

Elsewhere around the league, Norwich entertain a Tottenham Hotspur team that notched seven goals in their last two outings, while West Ham United invite an Aston Villa side that’s unbeaten in three matches.

Staying within London, Crystal Palace and Bournemouth do battle at Selhurst Park, with the former searching for their first win in seven league clashes. Manchester United endeavour to record just their second home win in six attempts when Stoke City pay a visit, and – finally – West Brom face a home match-up against a resurgent Swansea City.

14 games left. Spurs right in the title race now.

I'm sure Leicester will play they're usual game against City next week. I think they'll have too much for City's back line.

Would you say this if Man U were in the running?

Every City, Arsenal or Spurs fan will obviously want their side to win.

Likewise fans will have different teams that they like to see do well. Personally I'd love to see Spurs win it.

Nope, I would always want United to win it, but they're going to come up short, so i'd rather see Leicester buck the trend. It'll give us big spending clubs a massive boot up the arse.

Only joking... If we were in the running i would obviously want Utd to win it but as Gran said, almost every single neutral is going for Leicester to win it. Would be unbelievable.

In play, at 0-1 because they were too slow to update their odds after the goal. I checked it 10 minutes later and it said 8/11 in "my bets" tab. I wouldn't have bothered if it was 1/5

          • 12 Years

They'd have price locked as soon as the ball went in

They didn't, obviously some malfunction on their part because I knew from sports centre it was 0-1 but PP was still showing 0-0 with unchanged odds. It's their mistake, they should pay the odds on the ticket

        1. George Sillett
          • 10 Years
          10 years, 3 months ago

That can't happen.Once a price has been set and accepted that's it. What I don't get is that prior to the game Spurs very best price across all the bookies was 1/2 so how they can drift after taking the lead defies all logic.

They were 4/5 before kickoff. And 8/11 right before the goal

              • 10 Years
              10 years, 3 months ago

Sorry my error best price was 47/50. If 8/11 in your bet receipts tab (as opposed to your my bets tab ) you should be paid out at that price. Also if there has a been a price change you should be informed and asked if you still want to place the bet - usually there is a message which says "the price on this event has changed". There is usually a significant time lag between a goal and a new price being displayed , betting will be suspended. Bookies have systems in place to ensure that you cannot benefit from "after the event" knowledge.

Not true, bookies can accept the bets then change the odds if they've made a blatant error....

              • 10 Years
              10 years, 3 months ago

Not to bets already receipted. If what you say is the case when they lay a horse at 66's when generally it was 33's they could claim they had made a blatant error. They are only as good as their odds compilers who Base prices on their opinion and sometimes get it wrong. I saw it in action one year at the Cheltenham festival when Gregory Hughes offered a horse a blatantly the wrong price 66 rather than 16. The ensuing panic when he realised the error was clear to see. Those bets taken at the bigger price would have to been honoured.
