I'm dropping points fast with the rest in my mini league getting man city and arsenal clean sheets. After tonight, any suggestions on what I should do with my free transfers?

    Butland/Elliot
    Daniels/evans/bains/Simpson/dier
    Barkley/firmino/ozil/payet/Stanislas
    Aguero/Kane/lukaku

Statistically , Ozil had the better game yesterday but when I watch the highlights , its all Sanchez. Ozil created 10 chances but 5(6 if you count the Alexis chance) of them were from corners......which is less repeatable imo. Sanchez just in the bigger goal threat and that's my opinion anyway.

    Anyway , San(c)hez against Bournemouth FTW! 😀

Both looked good, without much reward. But why aren't chances from corners repeatable? I'd have thought that was one thing you could rely on.

        1) Arsenal wont get 10 corners every match
        2) Successful corners are as much dependent on opposition as on your own team
        3) Ramsey/Sanchez will take some corners from time to time (Ramsey took the corner against Liverpool from the left side)
4)Corners produce low quality chances (headed shots from crosses have lower probability of going in than non-headed shots not assisted by crosses

Ok - I understand what you mean about them being more miss than hit, but I can't agree with you if you think Ōzil won't get to take around 5 per match - because he does seem to get around that much on average. But I think overall you have a good point - Ozil's great looking stat that he created 10 chances is influenced greatly by corners and therefore won't necessarily translate to assists, even if it continues.

Sanchez also created 4 chances btw , so its not like Sanchez isn't a assist threat 🙂

That's true, he's certainly a threat in that way too. But is he likely to repeat that either? It's double his average.

It was a freak match . I am not expecting Ozil to create 10 chances every match too....judging from previous seasons , I am backing Sanchez to score 10+ goals from now till the end of the season

lol... see my reply to you below.

It's a borderline for 10 goals even imo. not expecting him to certainly pass that margin. 14 matches left. He scored 6 in the first 16 and now the schedule is getting very taxing. Despite the performance against Southampton, I don't expect Arsenal to have a strong end of the season. This was one of the matches they should have won.

Totally - That's not in question. I own both so can look at it more objectively than an owner of one or the other. I was more interested in your corner theory rather than an Ōzil v Sanchez debate.

You could be surprised if you checked their corner conversion rate (to shots) and per game corner averages of late. Not 10, but not far.

Anyway: 4 of Özil's chances created were (directly) from corners.

5 actually as 1 was a deflection assist to Alexis(which would have counted in FPL)

^this. Highlights are whole a lot of Özil. And this:

        😯

Anyway, Giroud was really the one getting the chances, and not bad shots either, could well have scored a brace in that match rather than anybody else scoring a single one (okay, there was that good Sanchez shot in the end that was blocked on the line and Özil's one-on-one at 11 minutes).

Ozil was absolutely electric. Brilliantly denied by Forster twice. Sanchez was incredible too but I know which one I'd prefer.

But we know Sanchez can do this week in week out . Ozil rarely shoots/scores goals . Ozil's shooting stats were an anomaly based on entire season but Sanchez always does this

You're right, Sanchez always does this. But his returns are so erratic - look at his history this season and compare it to Ozil's.

Then look at the price difference

                Regress to the mean?

As you said above, he always takes loads of shots. Usually the highest amongst midfielders. Yet he doesn't score that much. It's always been that way with him - that IS the mean for him, imo.

Aside from the Sanchez vs Ozil debate, there is the small problem of Bournemouth being a really tight ship at the moment. I wouldn't bet against them the same way I have captained against Sunderland, Norwich and Newcastle this year.

As United have almost no chance of winning the title at this point I really hope, like many, that Leicester do it. They were scoring loads at the start and have found a new way to get points recently in not shipping goals. The real deal.

Only 5 goals conceded over these fixtures:

    Swansea (a), Chelsea (h), Everton (a), Liverpool (a), City (h), Bournemouth (h), Spurs (a), Villa (a), Stoke (h), Liverpool (h)

I expect them to keep it tight in next two before the goals start pouring in again from GW27 onwards. What a story it's been. Hope it has a fairytale ending

Yeah I was going mad at the referee and cursed a few times. Also got reminded about Seaman's Community Article where the Leicester fans hated the referee and thought there may be some truth in it.

A few minutes later they showed the replay from a different angle, Sakho did get the ball, it was a very good decision.

Cheers andy - I hope that we do, but I daren't dream too much until I have seen what happens in the next two matches. We could theoretically be down to 4th by then. (we lose to mcy, ars; Spurs beat WAT & mci; Ars beat Bournemouth)

I have never put faith in Liverpool defense. But same goes with WBA (except Myhill). A cheap Leicester defender like Simpson would do fine.

    Foster - McCarthy
    Alderweireld - Dawson - Nyom - Wollscheid - Simpson
    Silva - Ozil - Payet - Mahrez - Alli
    Aguero - Kane - Ighalo

4m in the bank and 1 FT.

    Best move(s)?

    Thinking Wollschied and Ozil out.

The Villa game is the only reason I am keeping. No blank and a favourable fixture.

As for others, I really don't see them keeping a cleanie against Everton or Bournemouth away. They are both very good attacking teams.

Maybe. Always chances of save points. Assuming most have Butland only, I would rather get a second back up keeper. i can't be bothered wasting trades on Butland.

That's personal preference then. Butland will get save points, no doubt about it. I like to have only one goalkeeper playing, and do not like to spend more than 9.0 on them. 9.5 at a stretch.

Would definitely need a playing GK for Bench Boost after WC though.

        +1

        Keep your Stoke defenders.

I was looking to get rid of Wolly but those fixtures are too good.

If he's injured for a long time then it's another issue though.

    Good morning all.

Barring and major injury issues, the following is my 3 week plan to success:

GW25 - Butland to Forster (rotates well with Henn and Stoke not the same without Shawcross)
    GW26 - Moreno to Azpi
GW27 - Lukaku to Vardy (Blank for Lukaku and likely DGW will be later in season)

This would leave me with about 2.5m itb to adjust team for DGWs. Sound good or does anyone have any suggestions?
