So, as it transpires, my conversion to the “dullside” is almost complete. How else can I explain the fact that I appear to have formed a hive mind with Jonty.

Having recently caved in and recruited Sergio Aguero, this episode of the ScoutCast sees things take an even more alarming twist as I find myself replicating Jonty’s thinking – for so long the archetype of a dullard Fantasy Football manager.

Andy can only watch on, doing his best to quell my concerns as the three of us tackle another round of community queries. We talk around ways of breaking out of the template that constrains us, discuss the forthcoming fixture blanks, assess the prospect of doubling up on defences and even consider selling Aguero.

Jonty dismisses the idea and, true to form, I agree with him. How did it come to this?

          Fair enough. Get rid of him then unless you want him for the Swansea (H) game. High ownership of Cech and him bother me a bit but if you're not playing him anyways you might as well downgrade him. Likely to have a GW30 blank too.

          I'd rather have bellarin than ward long term but it depends how often you refresh your defence. I tend to set and forget so look long term

          Silva > Alli is a good option also. Both good options so up to you which one you feel more need to do.

          Personally i'd sort out the defence as it's a little weak.

        Yeah I had him for a stretch and he didn't get ANY points when I played him, unbelievably. But I need to put that behind me, he's good with BAPS and can always pop up with a goal

    So long as you have sufficient money ITB

    ALWAYS get the player that will SCORE more points regardless of price.

    Ivan will clearly score more than Azpi - more attacking.

    Toby will clearly score more than other Spurs defenders.

    Compromises are only necessary when you have 0 ITB.

          Certainly his stats are favourable. But without a crystal ball, it it hardly clear cut as to who will score more.

      I think you need 2/3 defenders of each team that will net the most points where possible. But just because you have the money ITB now doesn't mean you won't need it for a future transfer.

    Should I get Mahrez this week with my 1 FT or save and get him and Vardy next week. Also who would you get him for? I was thinking Ozil as Arse fixtures stiffen and it would free up funfs to maybe upgrade my fifth mid but Payet isn't exactly pulling up trees.

    this year i did that for bt 8 rounds

      Early is the time to do it, esp. with the new first-half-only WC. This season, the amount of value choices maybe makes it less important, but the earlier, the better.

      I had the exact same issue and I'm going to go VVD over Azpi. Simply because I'm bringing in Costa this week and it would be too risky to get two Chelsea players as they could easily have a blank GW30. However, if you don't have any Chelsea currently, I'd go Azpi

      I honestly think Vardy will have a field day against Arsenal - I wouldn't be playing Bellerin this GW..

      When Saints beat Arsenal 4-0 all we did was lump the ball over the top to Long who outpaced Mert. Look at the way Leicester play.....

      If I had Vardy he'd be starting for sure.

      Yeah bench Stanislas. Stoke have been poor without Shawcross but Everton, Leicester (and I guess United more recently) are better attacking sides with better end product than Bournemouth are. Even if they do concede a couple, Afobe is most likely beneficiary these days and then it tends to be spread about with no one player more likely to score or assist than another it seems.

          I work nights and am always switching about. I like to get a minimum of 5 hours. It leaves you tired enough to get to sleep the next night but not to tired to enjoy your days off

        This is very true. I suffer from a lack of sleep a lot of the time.

        I'm usually awake for 6am-12pm. Then I can work afternoon/evening from home so I sleep during the day.
