We call upon Stoke and Norwich’s wide men in our search for some overlooked Fantasy gold this Saturday morning. City’s Ivorian frontman also gets the nod as Manuel Pellegrini’s men look for a vital victory at Carrow Road.

Nathan Redmond

In the event that Norwich harvest enough points to stave off relegation this season, one would imagine that Nathan Redmond (5.0) will have played a key role in that narrative. The ex-Birmingham City winger – who’s still top of the scoring charts (five) at Carrow Road – followed up his composed finish against Chelsea with a lively performance in a 1-0 defeat at Swansea, alerting us to his blossoming confidence.

In terms of his influence over the last two Gameweeks, no midfielder amassed as many shots inside the box (six) as Redmond. Even when extending that range to encompass the previous four Gameweeks, only Alexis Sanchez managed more efforts in the penalty area (11) than the England U21 international (eight), demonstrating his current propensity for drifting into dangerous areas.

Notwithstanding the fact that Norwich drew blanks in four of their last six outings, it’s worth keeping in mind that they’ve only failed to score at Carrow Road on one occasion since Gameweek 10 – incidentally, that fruitless afternoon came against the league’s tightest defence (Spurs). Furthermore, only five sides have accrued more big chances in home matches than Norwich (26), so it would be remiss to assume that Man City’s rearguard will enjoy a relaxing encounter.

Beyond this weekend, though, the schedule smiles kindly on the Canaries. With proverbial six-pointers at home to relegation rivals Sunderland and Newcastle and a trip to struggling Palace in the subsequent four, the Norwich winger has the platform to help fire his side to safety.

Wilfried Bony

Following a trio of defeats, Manuel Pellegrini switched to a 4-4-2 system for Manchester City’s home tie against Aston Villa last Gameweek, affording Wilfried Bony his first start of the calendar year. Bearing in mind that City had failed to score more than once in each of the previous four, Saturday’s 4-0 win may well persuade the Chilean to retain a two-man frontline for the trip to Carrow Road.

Furthermore, with a Champions League clash against Dynamo Kiev in midweek, Pellegrini may also look to utilise the depth of his squad, starting Bony this weekend before switching to a lone-striker system against the Ukrainian outfit in order to protect a 3-1 first-leg away lead.

Delving into the data, although Bony failed to grace the scoresheet at Villa Park, he supplied an assist and was heavily involved during his 62-minute stint: among all forwards that clocked at least 20 minutes last Gameweek, the Ivorian ranked third with regards to shot frequency (one every 12.4 minutes). Moreover, only Aguero chalked up more shots inside the box (seven) than his strike partner (five) in the previous round of fixtures.

This weekend’s hosts Norwich rank joint-third for goals conceded (22) and joint-top for big chances conceded (28) in home match-ups. In addition, no side has tallied fewer clean sheets (three) than the Canaries this term, illustrating their inability to batten down the hatches. Couple that with David Silva’s recent resurgence (two assists against Villa), and Bony emerges as an enticing differential for seeking out a short-term gamble.

Xherdan Shaqiri

Despite turning out the occasional virtuoso performance in his debut top-flight campaign, Xherdan Shaqiri (6.4) has lacked the consistency to establish himself as a key player on the Fantasy market. Having delivered attacking returns (one goal, two assists) in three of his last four outings, though, the Switzerland international is certainly addressing that shortcoming, elevating our confidence in his attacking potential prior to Southampton’s visit.

Looking at the underlying statistics, four of Shaqiri’s total tally of shots on target this term (10) arrived in the last four Gameweeks, with only three midfielders mustering more during that time frame. As for his creative output, the former Bayern Munich recruit also charted joint-fourth for key passes (12) in his last four, underlining his capacity for assists.

In an abridged Gameweek where most Fantasy managers will be focused on securing their Tottenham Hotspur, Leicester City and Man City coverage, exploring the Potters’ attacking potential could separate many from the pack. Saints are far from pushovers, but they’re winless in three matches and have to contend with the absence of the suspended Jose Fonte, reducing their chances of stifling the hosts.

Morning, all. A little bit of help is needed before I finally press the transfer button.

I currently have 10 players, 2 FT and £0.0m in the bank.

    Butland,
    van Dijk, Otamendi, Huth,
    Mahrez, Arnautovic, Alli,
    Kun, Kane, Vardy.

    (Ruddy, Ozil, Payet, Nyom, Bellerin).

***Initially planned to do Ozil to Silva, but was AWOL all week, and the Silva rise means I am £0.1 off that move. So, should I do?

    A. Ozil to Sigurdsson?
    B. Payet to Sigurdsson?
    C. Bellerin to Williams?
    D. Nyom to Rangel?

Don't like to play 4 defenders, so prefer A or B myself.

    ***Thanks. 🙂

How much do you have invested in Payet or Ozil. If you got them at 7.6/7.7 and 8.8 respectively, then I wouldn't sell them if you wanna buy them back for the potential DGWs.

      Bellerin to a Tot def?

I would lose £0.4m on Payet, and nothing on Ozil.

Good morning guys and girls. Care to share your opinions on couple of desicions?

Who should I get in for Sanchez?
    A) Siggy
    B) Silva

Which GK should I get in place of McCarthy to go alongside Courtois?
    A) Fabianski
    B) someone else

I'm lining up Fabianski myself, but only coz I don't want to double up on Stoke or City Defense really.

I'd probably get Siggy over Silva but I'm going to hold on to Sanchez myself.

Same for me. I have the 3 and I will probably go for vardy in the end. Most logical choice to me. Starting by pitch time. i dont think aguero Will get over 65 and it is possible Spurs struggle at villa if They don't score fast.

Aguero since I'm leading in my ML and I don't need to risk it.

Kane because the Villa defence is worse than Norwich's.

Mahrez. Newcastle, despite having a new manager, still have virtually an entire defence injured. Mahrez gets the nod over Vardy for me due to form.

Aguero's very high goal involvement compared to Kane's is a key consideration for me. While I think Spurs will batter Villa the points will be spread out. while against Norwich even if Man City are poor Aguero should score.

one of those weeks when you can see similar returns for the main captaincy candidates - Kane, Vardy, Aguero & Mahrez.
Quite fancy a differential with Alli but with the ownership %s of these players does it make a difference?

Kane. Think Spurs need a reaction after Thursday and he was rested specifically for this game.

Poch will want to prove doubters wrong by easily winning this match.

Also bit of sentiment for Kane as Villa park was where he scored his first goal last season to kick off his splendid year.

The stats are screaming Kane (C)...... when you look at shots in the box and shots on target:

      http://members.fantasyfootballscout.co.uk/my-stats-tables/view/13566/

It gets even more convincing when you look at big chances conceded and goal attempts in box conceded:

Kane. Man City away form, Kane and Alli rested and Spurs need a reaction. Plus less than you would expect in my ML had Kane last week so if Kane smashes it, I smash it. In fact players in my ML are going to have to take big hits to field 11, whereas I frequent this website so it is not an issue 🙂

Looking for an attacking punt this week. Diouf of Stoke a decent gamble? How likely is he to play? Better alternatives?

The obvious move for me is Costa to Kane, but the guy in my mini-league who I'm trying to catch up with has Kane, so I want to look elsewhere, even though looking elsewhere will almost certainly lose me ground!

I was in a similar situation and went for Afobe in the end as a short term punt - 4 goals in last 9 and I fancy Bournemouth to score. - Down at 1.7% ownership so a proper differential too!

4 goals in 9...or, 1 goal in 5! Also, I think I'm right in saying that since the middle of January Swansea have conceded more than 1 goal in a league fixture just one time (against Spurs). Doesn't bode well.

I can field 11, but only in a 5 2 3 formation. My forwards are GTG. My three mids, Ozil, Payet and Firmino I dont want to change either, as I will want to get them back.

I have narrowed my decision down to Forster or VVD out to Hart or Kompany. Dont want the saints double up, and want an extra MCI for the double. My other option is to save, but chances are I would do one of those moves further down the line. 1m in the bank, can only afford Silva by losing Ozil and dont want to.

Should I make a transfer or save?
