This evening we reveal the results from the eighth round of our cup competitions and also look at Gameweek 31’s ninth round draws – this sees the conclusion of the Members Cup VI, whilst the Fantasy Football Scout Cup XII reaches its semi-final stage.

With a score of 68 Leon Harris secured a semi-final place in the Fantasy Football Scout Cup XII. He defeated Fumi and will face konman, whose score of 71 was enough to overcome a tough Round Eight encounter with 3,612nd-placed CB8.

Placed at 7,284th, Leon is the highest-ranked semi-finalist and is having his best season yet, currently beating his highest finish, in 2013/14, of 16,930. This has come at a cost, though, as he has already spent his second wildcard and bench boost chip.

David Silva will be a key differential for Leon going into his semi-final clash and although he has two free transfers, one is likely to be used to offload crocked Manchester City defender Vincent Kompany.

Konman has a rank of 37,463rd and a strong pedigree as well. He is now in his eighth Fantasy Premier League season and already has one top 5,000 rankings finish under his belt, achieved in the 2012/13 season. Mesut Ozil is among his key differentials and he also has two free transfers available.

The second semi-final will be between community regular Numb, who saw off Youth Hostelling w/Chris Eubank in Round 8, and Tap, who conquered Nickofoz.

Numb is the favourite in this semi-final with two top 1,000 finishes in a sensational seven-year FPL career that has seen him finish outside the top 10,000 just once. Currently ranked 35,190th, he only has one free transfer in Gameweek 31 and is another that is likely to get rid of Kompany.

Tap will be no pushover. This is his fourth FPL season and in 2014/15, he finished 58th in the overall rankings. Currently ranked 38,464th, he is likely to mirror Numb’s expected move by using his free transfer to ditch the City captain.

The full Fantasy Football Scout Cup XII Round 8 results can be found here, while the semi-final draw can be found here.

In the Members Cup, Ola Svanheld’s used his triple-captaincy wisely with Harry Kane’s 39 points bringing in a huge score of 91 and leaving his semi-final opponent Space Cadete, who scored 58, for dust. Ola earns a final clash with community veteran Rasping Drive, who beat GOB in his semi-final.

Ola’s rank of 22,301 makes him the favourite in the final, although he is likely to have to use his only free transfer on removing Kompany. He could also opt to use his remaining bench boost chip or second wildcard.

Rasping Drive is ranked 138,554th and will have to call on his vast experience of eight seasons’ worth of playing FPL, which has included a top 500 finish in 2009/10. He also only has one transfer available but with no Kompany in his team there are no pressing moves to make, which means he could take the opportunity to select a differential punt to see him over the finish line. Like Ola, he also has the bench boost chip at his disposal.

The full Members Cup Round 8 results can be found here, while the final draw can be found here.

In both cup competitions the winner will receive a £200 Amazon Voucher, with the runner up getting a £100 Amazon Voucher. If you’re looking for more information on the cup schedule and prizes available, click this link for a more thorough rundown.

I think Lukaku is a must, by the way. Perhaps downgrade a defender or risk going without Mahrez.

Joking aside (9 players) I think he will be popular among people who may not already have Payet.
          5.5ppg v 5.9ppg
          5.4m v 8.2m

Such a shame that it was moved from being the last race. It was always the get out race and had more plots than Morse. County is very tricky tomorrow abd Ruby will do well to win on Dicosimo as he is quirky and not very well handicapped.

My main bet tomorrow is Zubayr in the Triumph. Oozed class on debut and Nicholls knows how to get one ready for this race (Zarkandar followed exactly the same route )

Thanks for that. I've heard he's in with a good chance but that there wasn't much value in the price...maybe I'll revisit that then.

I like the sound of Don Cossack, and Shantou Village - so it's good to know the stats are o his side.

He's 5's tonight , I like Shantou Village after the Yanworth performance (should have won imo not Barry s greatest moment ). EW double the pair.

Just seen it drifted a bit -good stuff. I've been finding this page very useful, so when it tallies with your stats it can make me a little bolder with my bets: http://www.cheltenhamtips.ie/cheltenham-tips-day-4-friday-18th-march-2016/
Good to have a few different perspectives on it I find. 🙂

Glad you have got something out of my stats. I went to cheltenham for the whole festival week for 10 years but now have to fund university education for a kids for 6 or 8 years so that has been knocked on the head. I use a combination of what I have seen and stats. When these both tie up it represents a bet. Today I had Vautour , Thistlecrack and LiminI treble which has paid for a year's education so very happy. I have backedThe Druids Nephew at 25/1 ate post for the national.

Wow that's great. I'm 250 up over the week and it's the first time ive really bothered with it properly...there's obviously a lot of money to be made. I should have doubled on some of those favourites...made mistakes today but still came out on top, and i suppose the experience is more valuable for me, starting out with it.

Well done mate. There are a few key rules. It's a long week . Never chase losses and work your bets out on both form and stats. Stick to your staking plan but enjoy it. You really need to go for the whole week , it is a most amazing experience and the Craic in town at night is something else. Doubt I would stand the pace nowadays but the memories of some of massive wins and losses live forever.

Let's hope so . Just don't go barmy tomorrow , keep your discipline and make sure you stake no more than £50 so your profit on the week is a minimum of £50. You have done very well and should be proud of yourself.

    AOA to bring on Arnie

    or

    Kompany to Williams?

    Butland
    Toby Simpson
    Silva Mahrez Siggy Alli
Kane Kun (C) Vardy (Arnie, Kompany) VVD, Cresswell)

Just checked Arsenal's fixtures (including the dgw)

I assume most are bringing in 3 Arsenal players then, but who?

    Ozil - Sanchez - Bellerin ?

    Butland to DDG

    or

    Silva to Alexis

    or

    Butland to Hart

Been scratching all over my body tryna figure this out. The DGWs are going to be like a bloody exam. Relief when you're done with them. So. Much. Pressure.

DDG over Hart imo as you might be more likely to get 3 City players from elsewhere in the squad. Though a Lingard/Martial/def triple up isn't the worst as far as the money you can save...

Not keen on Lingard. Martial yes.

        Alexis is a yes too.

        Who to get first?

Coutinho: golaco. reminds of Mane Garricha, Romario, and so many alike.
so representative of Brazilian creativity in a split of a second. Few can attain such.

Ok so the best dgw attack is definitely:

    Ozil Payet Sanchez Firmino Coutinho
    Lukaku Martial Aguero

Which one would you leave out?

      Sanchez and/or Coutinho.
Need to leave something for your defense and there's very few bargains to be had.

Yep, I might have to get rid of sanchez and have double arsenal defence. Just have to pick the correct centre back

Anyone thinking of ditching Aguero for Ighalo/ Deeney during the last 3 GWs?

    Watford: AVL, liv/ nor, SUN

    Man City: sot, ARS, swa

City have shown they are rubbish on the road. Southampton are fairly defensive, Arsenal could be in a battle for CL and Swansea could be in a relegation battle by then. Only worry is that Watford may be safe and have nothing to play for, but I would still expect them to knock a few goals in during those fixtures.
