We’ve been left hanging for weeks but finally, on 3pm on Tuesday, we were handed the Double Gameweek details and could begin our planning in earnest.

This week’s ScoutCast is dominated by double Gameweek chatter, as your community queries hone in on the variables, strategies and planning involved in exploiting the fixture pile-up to the full.

I’m joined by Jonty, Andy and Luke as we attempt to make sense of it all, turning to a virtual flipchart to digest and communicate some of the options on offer.

It’s hardcore stuff that takes into extra time in an exhaustive 80-minute episode.

This was first aired live via our YouTube channel on Wednesday evening, Be sure to subscribe in order to get wind of future broadcasts.

You can view that live version via the larger player below, or indulge on the directors cut audio stream via this link or the smaller player.

Mark Mark created the beast. He's now looking to tame it.

Anyone doing any interested punts this week?

Nothing to lose really. A punt for 2 GW's before the WC.
Rondon's equally a good shout; good form and fixtures.

Would you save your WC until GW36 if you could get this team out for -4 in GW34 (provided Kompany is fit)?

    DDG
    Koscielny Moreno Kompany
    YYT Firmino Lingard Ozil (3C)
    Aguero Lukaku Martial

    Henny: Mahrez, Williams, Simpson

    Forster - (Hennessey)
    Toby - Fuchs - Williams
    Ozil - Mahrez - Payet - Siggy - (Arnie)
    Kun - Kane(c) - Vardy

    2FT and 0.9ITB

Want to keep Vardy vs Palace, so no Lukaku.

    1) Hennesey-»»Fabianski (AVL) for free
    2) Hennesey-»»Gomes (STO) for free
    3) Play Butland (wat) and save FT for internationals
Also next week can play Butland vs Swansea at home if that helps decision

      Definitely Play Butland.

GW32 has better fixtures for punts - Chelsea vs Villa, Nor vs New, Arsenal vs Watford

Surely you can do better than a keeper punt!!

Why did McCarthy start for CPL last time out? And he made a horrendous error with his kick that led directly to a goal, so even if Henno was dropped, McCarthy probably gave him his place right back...?

    Komapany is my main concern

will he be back in time for dgws ?

if he is back i am saving my wc / BB for later cause i already have 5 ,,main dgw players''

    Aguero,Kompany,Payet,Firmino,Ozil

have few FT's to totaly sort out team for dgw 34 and dont trust those silly wc punts like lingrad, milner, cpl defenders.... so thinking that sgw has every chanse to outscore those guys

also fixures are far better in gw 37

    Need some advice dudes...

    Butland

    Toby - Williams - Huth

    Arnie - Siggy - Alli - Mahrez

    Vardy - Aguero - Kane (c)

Subs: Ozil - Bellerin - Daniels - Henensey

Have 2 free transfers, all my chips and a WC which ill prob use for gw 33. Have a 30 point lead in my $1500 mini league. Cant see any good moves to make this week except take a punt but i like my team so much ive even got ozil and bellerin on the bench. Ozil may have to come on for vardy maybe. Could get rid of hennesy for mignolet maybe but i prob do that in wc anyway.

    Any thoughts?

A lot of chatter in regards to DGWs and DGW players recently and rightly so. But for those WCing in GW33 and GW34, which SGW players (if any) are you planning on keeping?

For me, it's Mahrez and Fuchs. I've owned Mahrez since GW1 and have a lot of value tied up, I think he'll continue to tick along nicely till the end of the season even if Leicester won't score as many goals. For DGW34 I don't see an adundance of good defensive options so am happy to keep Fuchs, Leicester should continue to pick up a CS and he might also provide attacking returns/BAPS on top of that.

    1. The 12th Man

      Mahrez and Simpson for me.
Might bring Payet in for Mahrez if I find the funds but for now, I'm sticking with my two cheap Leicester players 🙂

      13 DGWers GW34
      11 Playing GW35
11 DGWers GW37 is the plan

      1. Slam
        • 10 Years

Simpson is as cheap as they get and I would rather him than a player like Olsson tbh

If I wildcard in GW33, I'm considering keeping Mahrez. I might also be tempted to keep Simpson and a Spurs player.

        • Fantasy Football Scout Member

Yeah Spurs are difficult. Can't justify keeping Kane over Lukaku, or keeping Alli with so many nice DGW midfield options out there. Toby is an option to keep but he's pricey and although he has one or two nice fixtures to come he's probably not the greatest value.

In all honesty I probably won't own any Spurs on my WC. It could hurt.

        1. Diva
          • 11 Years

I wasn't considering keeping a Spurs player until I saw what my SoT ticker game up with. Spurs had a higher value for one game in Gameweek 37 than Norwich, Watford and Sunderland each had over two combined. That gave me something to think about.

I saw Leicester losing gas and can shatter at any moment.
The title pressure has started getting to them.

Against NEW, they were lucky not to concede, but with a better striker, I don't think they'd survived.
Can see them losing the 5pts lead in the final run (WHM, SWA, man, EVE, che).

That's a pretty darn good fixture list to me. I think they'll win all those home games and probably mun, maybe draw/lose to chelsea.

But regardless, still think Mahrez and Fuchs can tick along nicely even if they do start to drop a few points

Oh they'll win games for sure. But what use is a series of 1-0 victories or 0-0/1-1 draws? They are defending their lead in the table now.

That's exactly why I've kept Fuchs. They should keep a decent number of clean sheets from now on.

Mahrez, as I mentioned previously, I have a lot of value tied up in and still expect him to chip in with returns as he has done all season

Shouldn't be too difficult, I wouldn't have thought, although I have no idea how they work, but:

Something where you add a player to a GW33 team and it then automatically shows which GW34-38 games he plays and vs who.

Or is the something out there?

Go Dawson (if fit) or Foster.

Ohh for this GW? I'd opted for WestBrom def. personally.
Stoke can easily score a couple.

Catchart was dropped for the last two though, interestingly. Was looking around for which WAT defenders to consider for DGWs before

    Who should I bench??

    Payet Ozil Mahrez Alli Sig
    Vardy Aguero Kane

I could play AoA but my defence is
    Schmeichel Williams Olson Dier

Possible points in all of them. Have no idea what to do!

Or play AOA and bench Dier (on 9 x YCs so might be benched by Poch?)

It's a decent shout but at home and chasing the title. Ozil is benched at the moment but I keep changing my mind.

So with only 4 x DGW players currently in my team and just 1 x FT for this week (total of four between now and GW34) I have got to WC in 33, right? Especially if I wanted to bench boost.

No way to leave WC until GW36 and safely navigate 34?

Similar situation to me. I think we are in a better position to BB in GW34. A bit too far away to consider the GW37BB, we'd be well short in GW34

            Yup, too true.

Another one for clever clogs - Balders/Diva/Smarty Pants etc - is it possible to work out which players have been most transferred in for a hit this season? Where it's the second/third/fourth etc transfer of a hit group. And then how many points they have got back in the single GW of the hit.

Lots of flaws in this but a bit of interest?

That's one for Smarty Pants I think, though Balders could probably do it if he had been collecting data through the season.

I'm in the same situation as you but I feel 8 8dgw players is enough for 34 plus you can hold on to Leicester and spurs players a bit longer.their fixtures turn for the worse in 36 so plan to wildcard then and throw out aguero and get 15 dgw pkayers in to go out in a blaze of glory!!

Long way to go, but something like this for GW34:

    DDG - Mignolet
    Bellerin - Coleman - Clyne - Janmatt - Olsson
    Ozil - Firmino - Payet - Mahrez - Antonio
    Aguero - Lukaku - Ighalo

2 x FTs for Coleman & Antonio > GW35 players and then bringing them back for 37 😀

i have similar cr@p sv but think we can improve. u dont need to waste money on migs. ddg does the job. elliot is therefor us poor guys. u then need 3rd liv. im a westham fan but i dont think u need westham players til 37. i would like them but mid spots are hard to come by. i would switch payet to coutinho and then u have ur 3 liv. if u need to make antonio lingard to fund this( i did but i have sanchez too)
