After delving into the Defensive data over the last four matches earlier this week, we turn our attentions to the centre of the park. With double Gameweek shopping in mind, we compare some of the West Ham, Arsenal, Liverpool and Newcastle midfielders, before casting an eye over the upturn in form from Leicester’s talismanic wide man.

    Welbeck vs Kane 32-35?

Welbeck looking better on paper for me

Kane. Welbeck will, at the very least, get minutes chewed away by Giroud

Are those holding Mahrez and a lei defender through 32-35 ditching immediately after 35 SWA game. Or is the intention to hold until end of season. After 35 fixture turn for the worst and dgw 37 players will be needed?

Mahrez is still capable of getting double digit scores. More than many in his bracket could get with a DGW imo

Fair enough. I know benched him for 1 if not 2 hauls. Going against the consenus myself and losing Mahrez and Kane. Get 14 out for 34 and have a laugh.

Everton playing 4 games to his 2 in 33 and 34 has made me want to sell for Barkley

That's why I will have Lennon over Mahrez. Funds will not stretch to Barkley - think I prefer Lennon anyway.

    Butland
    Alderweireld - Bertrand* - Fuchs
    Ozil - Siggy - Mahrez - Traore
    Aguero - Kane - Vardy

    Robles - Alli - Williams - Francis (1FT - 4.9 ITB)

    Gw32:
    Schmeichel
    Bellerin Ivanovic Wolly
    Mahrez Payet Ozil Sanchez
    Aguero Lukaku Martial
    ------------------------------------
    Hennessey Alli Toby Daniels

    Gw33: Wolly&Mahrez > Funes&Barkley -4

    Hennessey
    Ivanovic Funes Daniels
    Barkley Payet Ozil Sanchez
    Aguero Lukaku Martial
    ----------------------------------
    Schmeichel Alli Toby Bellerin

    Gw34: Ivanovic > Smalling

    Hennessey
    Bellerin Funes Smalling
    Barkley Payet Ozil Sanchez(TC)
    Aguero Lukaku Martial
    ------------------------------------
    Schmeichel Alli Toby Daniels

    Gw35: Smalling&Lukaku > Fuchs&Kane(c) -4
    Gw36: WC
    Gw37: BB 15

Sound plan? Those -4's in 33 and 35 worth it to get those teams and save WC for 36?

I think a hit or 2 to try to maximize each week is acceptable. Plan looks good. Just don't fancy everton defenders getting many returns though.

Thoughts on wildcard in g/w 33 please, bb in 34 & one sub to get 11 in 35.

    Robles Mignolet
    Fuchs Clyne Bellerin Alderw Ward
    Mahrez Antonio Ozil Countinho Payet
    Aguero Lukaku Kane

    1. Jay_

It's nice but if WC in 33 maybe Mignloet to Elliot to try to add funds for Antonio to Bolasie. Seems a waste using WC in 33 and not taking advantage of dgw

    Morning DZ.

    GW 33 WC draft.

    Elliot Robles
    Koscielny Simpson Dann Janmaat Sakho
    Sanchez Ozil Payet Barkley Firmino
    Aguero Lukaku Rashford

    BB in GW 34
    TC in GW 37.

Need a hit to field eleven in GW 35.

Is it better to WC in GW 32 and TC Lukaku in GW 33, rather than a GW 37 player?

    Thanks.

    Which is better?

    A) Wijnaldum (sou, SWA, MNC)

    B) Bolasie ( NOR, EVE, ars, utd)

    C) Bolasie (NOR, EVE) + Wijnaldum (SWA, MNC) (but for this I have to take a -4 hit down the line for gw35)

Moreno is under serious threat from Flannagan. You also might like to save a FT so you have 2 to deal with the GW35 blanks.

How about Wickham instead of Mitrovic? Gives you palace dgw 33 and avoids Newcastle double up in attack in 34 which I personally don't like.

      1. Jacques The Lad
        • 11 Years
        10 years, 3 months ago

I'm now starting to consider WC now to get:

        Robles Elliot
        Bellerin Clyne Moreno Cathcart Dann
        Oil Sanchez Firmino Bolasie Barkley
        Lukaku Aguero Mitrovic

Then use the gw33 ft to move Dann to Rojo, and then the next week Bolasie -> Wij
This would mean that I can field 11 in gw35
However I'm concerned about what Ryan mentioned above, also I won't be able to field 11 in gw 35 if I get another cpl player so that kinda rules Wickham out

    I'm struggling for 3 strikers in GW34.

    Lukaku nailed.
    Kane and/or Aguero.
Only other option I like is Martial, but I'm maxed out on GW35 blankers and I prefer MUN defence.
Sturridge? But seems really unnecessarily risky.

Sturridge Aguero Lukaku for me. Obviously Sturridge need to plays 70 + a few games in a row first. He has 1.5 % ownership if that's not a dgw diff I don't know what is.

problem is we don't have enough games between now and GW33 for sturridge to prove his fitness. and even at 100% he's shown that he can self-destruct at any second.

It's a huge punt but is the ultimate risk reward. I like a punt. Too explosive to leave out if any chance he's fit. Class, pity his attitude sucks - even then he scores.

        Thanks for the input.

Considered Mitrovic but couldn't bare the thought of 2 Newcastle attackers (have Wij). Welbeck could be rotation city any week. I liked Rondon but the fixtures are terrible and his manager sys he deals with fatigue which doesn't bode well for doubles. I like Berahino quite a bit but he just hasn't been close to the asset he was last season.

Initial plan is Martial then to Sturridge on GW 35, but if the latter showing form might go straight to Sturridge and save a hit.

Firmino is the in form guy. But with Sturridge back to the side is Coutinho the better pick?

If Sturridge is fit for Gw32 (which i surprisingl expect him to be) Im 100% going with Coutinho

I think he might be fit now. But it's Sturridge.

Then again Firmino could be playing CF when Sturridge needs a rest in the near future..

Who is better to own in GW33 - Barkley or Bolasie?

Bit of a toss up really. I would lean towards Barkley, just

    12 DGWs and 3 SGWs

    Cech - Hennessey
    Bellerín - Clyne - Rojo - Clichy - Aké
    Mahrez - Barkley - Ozil - Wijnaldum - Coutinho
    Vardy - Lukaku - Kane

    Barkley ----> Payet for DGW34
    Rojo ----> someone to play 11 in GW35 on a 4-4-2

So I can play 11 in GW35 with no hits and bench Payet and Lukaku for DGW37.

Who might that someone be in place of Rojo? would you want a Chelsea or Sunderland player to make the most of your transfers for DGW37?

It´s not Cech and Hennessey, its Mignolet and Elliot.

Maybe Rojo to PvA to prepare DGW37 and then I can bring for free Azpi and Costa too probably.

Ok sounds good. PVA against Arsenal in GW35 isn't ideal but maybe worthwhile in the overall scheme of things.

    Which option is better?

    A) Clichy Janmaat Firmino Welbeck

    B) Clyne Coloccini KDB/Silva Mitrovic

In both options my extra FT in GW34 will involve selling Bolasie for a Liverpool midfielder (Coutino/Firmino)

Personal choice. Seems like Lennon will be rotated, Bolasie is a bit safer

WC active... gotta say it feels good

    Robles Elliot
    Bellerin Rojo Clyne Sakho Simpson
    Sanchez Ozil Payet Barkley Bolasie
    Aguero Lukaku Rashford

Bolasie > Coutinho for DGW34 when I'll BB with 14 players (keeping Simpson). Then I have the players from the right teams and enough FTs to get 11 playing in GW35 (most likely shipping Rashford & Rojo for Defoe & PVA) and a full 11 of doublers in DGW37.

Yeah it looks good to me on the most part. I'd be a little concerned getting two Sunderland players in time for Arsenal away. Might be a worthwhile sacrifice though.

Well it's Chelsea and Sunderland if I want to maximise on DGWers. Defoe looks very good and PVA is a defender who plays for a team who'll fight to survive and just scored in 4 consecutive games this season, so 2 Sunderland players might not be as bad as it sounds.

    WC 33 team draft

    Robles Elliot
    Bellerin Gabriel Simpson Sakho Rojo
    Firmino Coutinho Ozil Payet Barkley
    Kun Lukaku Rashford

    Initial thoughts.....go easy it's only a draft 😉

      Rashford.

Haha just spotted your team above. It's a good draft for both of us anyway and we'll wait and see how the internationals and GW32 go. All the best bud.

    Who will score more?

    a) Coutinho (TOT STO)

    b) Antonio (CPL) + Ozil (whm)

The good thing about b) it gives me option to decide Coutinho vs Firmino later in GW 34, but I only have 0.3m room for price rise.

    Thoughts?
