You’re looking at the new Fantasy Football Scout.

After around 18-months of design, re-design, wireframing, coding and testing we are very proud to reveal the fresh new look.

I’d like to extend a huge thanks to Will for his initial design and Dougal and Ed for building the new site, plus PureOlivia for his new version of the Season Ticker.

In addition, I’d like to thank for the following (in no particular order) for their help testing the site over the last few weeks:

Jonty, TorresMagic, Spencer, D1sable, Andy, Evs, Beavis, Doolittle, Kavali, Bowstring the Trout, Green Windmill, Balders, Sarjaent, Ryan, Kings of Lyon, Rakkhi.

You won’t be surprised to know that the new site is now fully compatible with mobile and tablet – it’s a fully responsive design that will adapt to your screen resolution accordingly.

If you’re accessing on mobile or tablet in portrait mode you will see a different version to desktop, allowing you to read articles and join discussions far more easily and effectively.

The mobile and tablet versions have viewing options which are available via a series of buttons under the top featured story on the homepage.

buttons

Use these buttons to view Recent Comments, the Twitter feed and the regular sidebar elements – including a new version of the Season Ticker. We’ve tried to ensure that mobile and tablet users have the same tools available as those on desktop – have a play and get acquainted.

If you view the site on table in landscape mode, you will shift to the small desktop version – if this is not the case, try updating your device.

Myself, Jonty and the moderation team are going to be about today to answer as many of your queries and issues. I’ve added a short FAQ below to hopefully address any immediate questions.

Why have we made this change?

We had to move FFS to be more friendly on mobile devices. Just over a year ago Google started penalising sites in search results should they fail to be mobile compatible. While we chose not to rush out a quick fix to address this, we knew we had to accelerate work on a new site to overcome this issue. Hopefully we’ve now made the site far more accessible for those using mobile and tablet devices, in addition to improving the site for desktop users – we hope.

How can I report a bug or issue?

We’ve done some pretty extensive testing of the new site but, inevitably, there will be bugs we’ve missed across some devices and browsers. If you think you’ve found an issue, please report this in the comments or, ideally, via email.

Mail us at support@fantasyfootballscout.co.uk .

Please include as much detail as possible, including your device, your browser and your browser version. A screenshot would also be useful if you’re sending us your issue via email.

Can I give feedback on the new site?

Of course. Please use the support@fantasyfootballscout.co.uk address to mail us with any feedback or ideas or the comment threads to offer your views.

We’re aware that such a big change can be jarring and that we will all need time to get used to the new site.

Please be patient with us while we iron out any creases and fix any issues that remain.

Why hasn’t the members area changed?

We’ve decided to apply the new look to just the main site for now. Over the summer we will consider applying the design to the members area to also make this more friendly on mobile and tablet.

Mark Mark created the beast. He's now looking to tame it.

    bottomed!

    I've taken my 2nd hit to bring in a playing keeper, however now I'm thinking it might be worth just wildcarding early to wipe out the hits and this would also allow me to triple captain Lukaku for his double in GW33.

    This basically means I'll have double Arsenal defense this week (home to Watford, not bad) and Mata at home to Everton (instead of Siggy away to Stoke). Worthwhile?

      I think that could be worthwhile as you can also save a transfer next week and have 2 for the DGW to deal with any pressing issues

        Unsure if this is due to my resolution, but the background (stadium) of the website is too bright. Could be more blurred to enhance the user's experience? Just a few cents worth!

    How does this look for a GW33 WC team??

    Robles, Schmeichel
    Smalling, Monreal, Ake, Reid, Sakho
    Ozil, Payet, Mahrez, Coutinho, Lanzini
    Lukaku, Aguero, Welbz

      looks good, but why keep Schmeichel? could you not get Darlow perhaps or another cheap GK?

        Schmeichel has a good GW35 fixture and means I don't have to worry about having 2 GK blanking after both playing a DGW, I don't trust Newcastle enough either and Schmeichel could rack up some save points v West Ham

    Andy/Mark emailed support about not being able to see any of the icons other than the microphone icon, logged into the members area and it appears to be fine now. Only time the rest disappear is when I press articles from the drop down menu. Are they supposed to disappear then?

      Does it work when you come out of the members area?

      If you press articles they would disappear as they're only available on the home page. You'll find it you go into an article they won't be visible.

      My concern is that Traore didn't start last game, otherwise I'd have been considering him too. If you can live with that risk go for it

    Moreno + Siggy out for Ivan + Lanzini/Traore for a 1 week punt before WC sound good?

        Id rather have Ivan against a manager-less, moral lacking Villa.

        I could keep Siggy and downgrade Alli to a cheap bench fodder for the week, as both wont be staying in my team for WC33

      1. WorldCupDanB
        • 14 Years
        9 years, 8 months ago

        The fact that there is no way to really carry on a conversation once it goes onto the next page, once the page turns its lost

          • Has Moderation Rights

          Fair enough - that's a whole other debate.

          Ultimately if people want to continue the conversation though they can just go back to a previous page.

            What about when there have been too many replies in the same thread and replies are only posted to the first message that's max indented? From what I experienced once, and have seen a few times, conversations can be very difficult to continue after the website decides a new indent can't be made.

    3. Shimmy

      I'd say the really fundamental problem with the comments section is that they're not comments at all!

      People rarely (if ever) actually comment on the article in question - what we've effectively got here is a rolling chatroom, awkwardly attached to the bottom of articles (I suspect a lot of people don't even read the artlces!). But it's been the norm on here for a long time and is the lifeblood of the site, so I can see why it hasn't been changed.

      1. WorldCupDanB
        • 14 Years
        9 years, 8 months ago

        Wouldn't take much to improve it though without fundamentally changing it.

      2. Postman Ty
        • 11 Years
        9 years, 8 months ago

        I agree, maybe separate chatrooms should be set up based by topic, and comment sections on articles could be left for information relevant to each article.

    Bellerin, Otamendi, Simpson
    Mahrez, Eriksen, Silva, Payet
    Aguero, Vardy, Kane.

    FT was Siggy > Payet
    Should i
    a) wildcard early and prepare for 33/34 and get 11 out this week.
    b) Play with no GK this week
    c) Take a hit and get cortois in, to block ML rival who has taken a -4 themselves and has Azpi

    Cech, Robles

    Kos, Smalling, Sakho, Moreno, Janmaat

    Payet, Lanzini, Ozil, Firmino, Mahrez

    Kun, Lukaku, Martial

    0.2 ITB. Smalling and Lanzini/Martial to depart in GW35

    May go Bolasie and swap to Bobby F in 34.

    There's a very obvious flaw, in the shape of Moreno, but it's not bad

      Can't see Moreno starting both DGW fixtures with Flanagan back. As a Liverpool fan I'd say Flanagan would be our first choice LB (or Clyne LB with Flanagan RB) till the end of the season because of how awful Moreno is defensively. I could be wrong though

    Not been on here much since the DGWs were announced, was gunna post another blank/DGW navigation article but Balders beat me to it 😛
    The new site looks great!

    I could do with some help filling the last spot in my DGW 34 team. Here's my squad atm:
    Forster
    Alderweireld, Wollscheid. Fuchs
    Payet (c), Siggy, Mahrez, Ozil
    Kane, Aguero, Vardy
    Hennessey; Barkley, Olsson, VVD
    (2 FTs, £2.6 itb)

    I'm gunna play my WC in GW 36 and BB in GW 37. I'll make these transfers before DGW 34:
    GW 32: VVD -> Gabriel
    GW 33: Wollscheid -> Jagielka
    GW 33: Kane/Vardy -> Lukaku
    GW 34: Siggy -> ?

    So it boils to down to these 6 options:
    A. Kane -> Sanchez
    B. Vardy -> Firmino
    C. Vardy -> Coutinho
    D. Vardy -> Lallana
    E. Vardy -> Yaya
    F. Vardy -> Mata

    Which option would you go for? Or should I come up with another plan? Cheers.

      Not sure, Perchino. I am WC'ing in 34, probable TC in 33.

      I prefer to keep Kane ...
