Welcome to the first Community Round Up of the new look Fantasy Football Scout. While the website’s design may have changed, the imminent double Gameweeks continue to dominate discussion, as they have for much of last month. Our community writers were on hand to offer the latest tips on strategy and key targets for the busy fixture schedule, while our hot topic posters weigh up the value of Alexis Sanchez and the fall out from an international break that saw two popular goalkeepers sidelined.

The Community Articles

Last week’s news that Everton and Crystal Palace will face a pair of fixtures in both Gameweeks 33 and 34 prompted Balders to rewrite his must-read double Gameweek strategy guide.

Bowstring the Carp cast an eye over some key players to acquire as he looked ahead to April’s games and back on March’s top stars.

For those looking to take a punt this weekend, ahead of a Gameweek 33 wildcard, The Sarjeant’s colour coded look at team form will be essential reading as will Bolivian Seaman’s analysis of the latest fan forum mutterings.

Don’t forget, if you’ve got some analysis, scout reports or features brewing, be sure to visit our community section to submit your article.

The Hottest Topics

With so many premium-priced players looking enticing as double Gameweek 34 options, a key dilemma to emerge – according to The Hindu Monkey – is whether to stick with Spurs striker Harry Kane or opt for Arsenal’s midfielder Alexis Sanchez.

As Draftcup points out Sanchez could be a shrewd purchase but his hefty price tag is certain to deter many punters.

In the search for inspiration ahead of the flurry of double Gameweeks, the community looked through the mists of time to remember the key lessons they’ve learned from previous bumper fixture Gameweeks. Among those with plenty of experience of tackling tricky fixture lists is those riding high in our latest Hall of Fame update.

Bonus points take on an extra importance during a double Gameweek, particularly when considering where to place the armband. Balders has also been busy offering some expert analysis on the Fantasy Premier League’s Bonus Point System that is used to allocate bonus points.

The international break proved heartbreaking for two popular goalkeepers amongst the community, Jack Butland of Stoke and Newcastle’s Rob Elliot. Butland has provided a glut of points over the season to his many investors, while Elliot was a key transfer target ahead of Newcastle’s two home matches during Gameweek 34. Shortly after the extent of Butland’s injury was known, we assessed the weekend options for his many owners.

Finally, thanks for all the positive feedback about the new design of FFScout. Among our favourite reactions was Bedknobs and Boomsticksfeeling that he was stepping into a famous Roal Dahl novel.

The Members Tables

Mbilton’s latest table takes an in-depth look at Everton players’ performances over the last six matches to find the best targets ahead of their three double Gameweeks.

Meanwhile, Kushal21 has been visiting row z to find out the Premier League’s worst shooters.

If you’re a member and are yet to get to grips with the custom statistics tables, you can view this movie for an explanation of how they work. Also, remember to tag them so that people can find the tables with ease.

In addition, with blanks and double Gameweeks now here it is wise to sort by matches rather than Gameweeks to give a fairer gauge of form.

The Community Tournaments

Jarvish’s Frequent Posters Cup reaches the last 16 stage in Gameweek 32 with the previous round’s highest scorer Icon facing ShowMeTheMane, while Spineless Weasel’s encounter with Pompeyfan is another eye catching match up.

Kings of Lyon’s newly-launched Going Out With a Bang league has the dual aim of providing an enticing end of season competition for those in the rankings doldrums, as well as some intriguing analysis of how the community aims to use chips and wildcards between Gameweek 32 and 38.

If you are running a community tournament and would like the latest scores included in future Community Round Ups please email me a brief summary of the current leaders and a link to your league, spread sheet or head to head competition, at jonty@fantasyfootballscout.co.uk.

Hi lads. Just looking for some input on what to do with this team for the upcoming double gameweeks.

    Schmeichel - Butland(!)
    Dier - Williams - Francis - Ward - Targett
    Payet - Yaya(!) - Mahrez - Sigurdsson - Alli
    Aguero - Kane - Vardy

First off, I'd like to point out I have my WC, triple captain, bench boost AND all out attack.

My team is a bit sh*te so I think I'll WC this week to set myself up for the DGWs. Good idea?

Also, sorry to add to the endless rmts, I'll try my best to help others out too.

Not much between Williams and Dawson really... I wouldn't expect clean sheets for either, and both could pick up a goal. I'd go form Williams, purely on form.

      Captain is anyone's guess!

Oops, i've posted this in the old topic so i'm going to repost it here:

Anyone thinks Swansea can keep a CS against Stoke? They've scored 4 goals in the last three games but they're kind of decimated.

    1. Shirokov(c)
      • 10 Years
      10 years, 19 days ago

I think they can, this game has two teams that don't really have *too* much to play for so could be a bore 0-0.

They don't have Shaqiri and Walters either...and without a defense you can't really play football.

Just realised I am 0.3 short for Sanchez.

But Fabregas doesn't shot frequently, does he? And do you also think Hiddink doesn't like Pedro? I am afraid he could still bench him.

              • 11 Years

Trust me he is shooting MUCH more than Ozil ever did nowadays......Pedro on the other hand is struggling but no. Hiddink has no bias against Pedro. In fact Pedro is playing better recently . However , he will most probably play 60-70 minutes TOPS

Have 2 FT, WC and all chips, $1.1m

    Aguero Kane Vardy
    Sanchez Payet Mahrez Alli (Siggy)
    Bellerin Wollsheid Simpon (Dier Williams)
    Forster (Hennessey).

What should I use my FT to punt on this week? Forster -> Courtois or Adrian seems like a no brainer. But nothing else jumps out at me. Maybe Siggy -> Willian but then I’d have to bench Alli.

And another question, for those with WC and chips left, are most people still aiming for 15 DGW players and BB in GW34, saving TC for GW37?

Perhaps my last post was a bit long winded......

I this week or next week better to WC?

next if you can wait, as it'll allow you to avoid any injuries/suspensions and you can bench boost for the big DGW34.

I did it this week as my keepers both got injured and I want to triple captain Lukaku next week

This week gives you more flexibility with transfers. For example, you could load up on Chelsea vs Villa & Swansea, then sift for Man U players in GW34.

It also means you could play your TC next week.

So this week would be your preference? I could always use my TC in 37.

Yep, I've looked at TC in GW37 but none of the fixtures really stand out. What do you think? Many have Payet in mind, but if West Ham are still in the FA Cup then the league will be of much less importance by that stage.

Liverpool (and Man City) have European competition matches leading up to the DGW34. It's putting me off getting their players on a WC now, and waiting for GW34 with 2 FT's. That said, is anyone going with Flanagan seeing as he can't feature against Dortmund?

      2 Apr - Tottenham (H)
      7 Apr - Dortmund (A)
      10 Apr - Stoke (H)
      14 Apr - Dortmund (H)
      17 Apr - Bournemouth (A)
      20 Apr - Everton (H)
      23 Apr - Newcastle (H)

I don't want a Liverpool defender even if he were nailed on so no.

Having one for DGW34 and GW35 seems fairly sensible though?

Sakho is a BAP whore. He justifies the extra 0.3m IMO

Cheers EH. I think he'll be first choice for the two EL games so I'm sure Lovren, Sakho, Skrtel will be rotated over that run of games. Flanagan won't be, but then may be rotated with moreno towards the end of that schedule. It's tricky!

Sakho is nailed imo. And even if he isn't , he is like Williams , i.e , CS = 9 points

I have Willian in my squad.

Obviously issues in that he has just came back from Brazil having played 2 games. Hiddink has said that he will experiment in final 8 games and will see how fit the Brazilians are tomorrow morning.

I have 2 frees - would you keep or sell?

worth bringing in Adrian(or Cech) for butland to play ahead of Forster (lei) ?

or Toby to Ivan instead ? bit worried about Ivan's game time tbh and all ml rivals have toby

I'd be happy playing Forster, I don't think you need to spend an FT on that.

        Just make a punt
