In their quest to beat to the drop, Sunderland will attempt to de-rail Leicester City’s formidable title charge at the Stadium of Light. The Black Cats lost just one of their last seven match-ups, while the Foxes are on a six-match unbeaten streak.

Although Sunderland ranked third for attempts (64) and seventh for shots inside the box (34) across their previous seven outings, they suffered from the third-worst shot-conversion rate (6.3%). The Wearsiders have lacked an attacking spark at home all season, placing fifth-bottom for goals (17), joint-second-bottom for shots inside the box (99) and bottom for big chances (11). That being said, Sunderland have conceded the joint-sixth-fewest goals in home matches (16).

Owing to Leicester’s supreme defensive effort of late, they’ve been able to register five 1-0 wins in their last six fixtures. Aside from notching four cleans sheets in as many matches, the East Midlanders’ rearguard restricted their opponents to the joint-fifth-fewest big chances (three) during that stretch. It’s worth noting, however, that only three sides have allowed more shots inside the box in away ties (151) than Leicester.

Cracking game yesterday, Jay. Poor decisions by the referee, on Lanzini and Carrol.

So I've narrowed my Gabriel choices down to five options

    A) Delaney - DGW, but already have Dann and then would need -8 to get 11 in 35
    B) Kaboul - SGW, but a fixture in 35 and a DGW in 37
    C) STaylor/Dumment - DGW and fixture in 35, but defense is horrid
    D) Simpson - SGW, but good fixture in 35
    E) Stick and hope for the best

    I think it's D or E.. Thoughts?

Finally, Leicester show some regression. This would have happened in January in any other season.

    1. Debauchy

They have been "hanging tough " for some time already

    2. Stephen - Robot Daniels
      10 years, 7 months ago

Arsenal, City, Chelsea etc scrape a 1-0 will then it's the sign of champions winning when you don't play well.

Leicester do it and it's a sign of nerves or regression.

One half during which their defense has barely been threatened isn't exactly regression.

Four 1-0 results in a row - the swashbuckling football has disappeared as the pressure has intensified - understandable though

    Sunderland should win this
