Romelu Lukaku is added to Everton’s list of doubts for the visit of Southampton. Salomon Rondon is passed fit for West Brom’s clash with Watford, Quique Sanchez Flores hints at rotation for the Hornets ahead of the FA Cup semi-finals, whilst Marko Arnautovic is expected to return in time for Stoke’s Monday night showdown with Spurs.

Romelu Lukaku, Ross Barkley, Aaron Lennon and Leighton Baines will be assessed ahead of Everton’s home clash with Southampton, Roberto Martinez has confirmed. Lukaku has been nursing a groin problem, which was aggravated against Palace in midweek, and will be monitored after he failed to train yesterday. The Toffees are without injured pair Tom Cleverley and Phil Jagielka, whilst James McCarthy is suspended. With one eye also on the upcoming FA Cup semi-final, Martinez has also hinted that “one or two youngsters” could be handed a chance against the Saints due to the injury situation.

Arsene Wenger has no new injury concerns ahead of the home encounter against Palace. The Gunners boss has revealed that Santi Cazorla and Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain could “maybe” be back next week, though neither has returned to full training yet. Jack Wilshere and Tomas Rosicky continued their recoveries with run-outs for the reserves yesterday.

Villa’s Gabby Agbonlahor has been ruled out for the next two weeks. Caretaker manager Eric Black has confirmed that the forward will undergo a personal fitness programme to improve his match sharpness.

Steven Davis has recovered from an ankle problem in time for Southampton’s clash with Everton. Charlie Austin is sidelined with a minor knee injury, whilst Ronald Koeman has confirmed that Shane Long is fully fit after being forced off with dizziness last weekend.

Swansea have no injury worries ahead of their trip to Newcastle, with Leon Britton back in contention after recovering from a back complaint.

Big Sam has no injury problems to contend with for Sunderland’s vital trip to Norwich, with Duncan Watmore passed fit after a couple of months on the sidelines.

West Brom’s Salomon Rondon has recovered from the back injury that forced him off early against Man City last weekend. Alex Pritchard (hip) joins James Morrison on the sidelines as the Baggies welcome Watford to the Hawthorns.

Watford boss Quique Sanchez Flores has confirmed his intentions to rotate the squad over double Gameweek 34, with one eye on the FA Cup semi-final encounter with Palace a week on Sunday.

Marko Arnautovic “should be okay” for Stoke’s clash with Spurs on Monday after missing out last week with a back problem. Erik Pieters serves the first of a two-match ban, whilst fellow left-back Marc Muniesa hasn’t trained since Monday and remains doubtful. Mark Hughes is optimistic on Glenn Whelan’s chances of recovery, though the midfielder has yet to fully train over the last few days.

Junior Stanislas could be in line to return for Bournemouth this weekend after stepping up his recovery from a hamstring injury. Benik Afobe, Harry Arter and Adam Smith remain on the sidelines.

honestly i'd play gabriel over mert v palace. The pace of bolasie, zaha could hurt him although I guess Dann/Delaney are a threat in the air so maybe mert maybe preferred

can see mert def starting v west brom though, they are a real danger in the air and lack any real pace

Is his contract running out in the summer? On his way out perhaps? If its true then I don't think he'll be starting ahead of Gabriel, who Wengers seems to be testing out as his new Mertesacker replacement.

GW 33. Wildcard played, red arrow.

    GW 34. Current state:
    - 2 injuries (Jagielka, Janmaat)
    - 2 injury doubts (Barkley, Lukaku)
    - 3 Palace players (Dann, Cabaye, Bolasie)
    - 1 Gabriel

    Wildcard played well 😆

What do I do with all this mess now?
    a) take a 28 point hit and sell them all
    b) take a 16 point hit to sell the injuried and Palace, play bench boost and hope that Lukaku, Barkley and Gabriel play
    c) take an 8 point hit, cancel bench boost, play triple captain, and slowly sell them all till GW37
    d) quit FPL in desperation

    1. Les Bleus

      e) play BB and transfer out Jags and Janmaat for a hit.

don't know, bench boosting triple palace vs ars and liv seems wrong
most likely they'll bring (2+2+1)*2 = 10 points or something like that, yellow and red cards are likely too
the original plan was to gamble on them in GW33 and then sell them all for an 8 point hit

        Mignolet - Darlow
        Bellerin - Gabriel - Dann - Jagielka* - Janmaat*
        Sanchez - Coutinho - Barkley - Cabaye - Bolasie
        Aguero - Lukaku - Martial

Jagielka is actually already gone for Smalling

        1. Kavali

With Smalling, you have only 6 DGW players so far for BB37. Play now, ditch Janmaat and pray for Barkley

            9 years, 8 months ago

It's better to play BB with Bolasie and Cabaye DGW (if you have to) than to take all those hits and play BB in GW37 with 10 DGW'rs, Plus you have 3 ARS players, and they play against City in GW37. I don't like that, it is better with CPL players

Thanks Kavali, good points. Bench boost in GW37 has to be with single gameweek players.
I think with GW35 in mind I'd rather sell one of Cabaye or Bolasie now for Nasri, Milner or Firmino.

Think you should just play it now.

I would risk a 12 pnt hit to get out Barkley, Cabaye, and Jagielka for maybe Payet, Iwobi and Moreno/Rojo.

But then again, I'm insane. 😆

As Kavali pointed out, I don't think it'll be worth it to drag your BB in 37, don't think you'll be able to get out enough DGWers.

            How much ITB?

I am a/b if that helps, but I am just buying lottery tickets at this stage.

Play 34 and 35 together and make sure you have 3 liv 3 ars 3 mci, then sort out the rest.

What was your plan for GW35?.....wasn't so smart I think. You may need to cancel BB due to the crappy bench. I would aim to get some GW35 coverage. Nasri maybe an option for Cabaye, then get in a Leicester defenders or perhaps one + Fosu-Mensah. May as well play Dann and Bolasie and hope for the best.

      1. Smarty Pants
        • 16 Years

The original plan was a risky one:
        1) gamble that 3 Palace will score enough to justify taking them out for an 8 point hit in GW34
        2) gamble that bench boosting in GW 34 would be successful enough to justify an 8 point to field eleven in GW35
Basically trying to maximise points scored rather than minimise hits taken.

The plan didn't include all the injuries 😀

KDB "ice bags on both knees and in the veins of owners" ANALYSIS

    City's upcoming fixtures:
GW34-1: 16 April (three rest days)
GW34-2: 19 April (two rest days)
GW35: 24 April (four rest days)
CL1: 26 April (ONE rest day)
GW36: 1 May (four rest days)
CL2: 4 May (two rest days)

There's no way KDB is playing all three matches in GW34 and 35. He might also be rested in 36, because of the two day rest before CL2.

The question becomes: Transfer KDB out now (for whom?) or wait until 35?

Could go up to 6.0m, but makes it a lot harder to get Kane in if I go beyond 4.5m. Well, it doesn't, but it means the Midfielder I get in along with Kane can't be Mahrez.

Getting Rojo means I can only spend 6.8m on a mid for GW 35...Lamela/Milner/ Tadic/Nasri.

If I ditch Payet, I'd still have Antonio, who personally I believe is more attacking despite playing at RWB, though hopefully, Byram starts this week. Could also play Alli against Stoke as my 4th mid?

I see a lot of people thinking of changing thir plan to BB this week and do it in GW 37. IS this really a good idea? I know most of people here that used WC in GW33 have their team messed up with lots of players that are half injured, rotation risk or just in bad form.

    But will GW37 be better?

Most have 2-3 Liverpool players, 2-3 Everton players, 1-2 CP players, rotation risks like Gabriel, Iwobi, Fosu-Mensah and cheap enabelers like Darlow. So basicly, we all have 6-8 players we would like to change. You can use only 4 FT from now till GW37 so that means that you can get rid only 4 payers without taking a hit, and by the time GW37 comes there will be new injuries, new rotation risks, teams like New or Sun could be without a chance to stay in the league and you'll want to get rid of their players, ManU could be out of the race for CL spot and could focus on FA cup... So will your bench be much stronger?

Thinking about this whole day, and i think the best way is to go with BB this week with taking a hit or two and the take a punt (Sturrige?) for TC in GW37. Even if there is some rotation in Liverpool and Everton teams, i think they will both play their best teams when the play each other and i can see that game ending with lots of goals.

Without WC, BB37 is difficult because no one has the players that will be free from rotation. The unpopular ones like Sun/Nor players are where potential points will lay.

You can still wildcard your way out of it but you will not be able to play BB gw34 if you do. There will be many who wildcarded in 32 or 33 (with a hope of fielding 15 dgwers) who will have had the likes Jags, Lukaku, Barkley, Darmian and will either have to take hits or take risk of reduced gametime for them.

I wildcarded 32 (to get an extra transfer in case of this) but I've got the 3 injured everton players. It has to be Jags out and one of Lukaku/Barkley or ship all 3 for a -4.

      Good luck whatever you do.

Whats peoples thoughts on taking a massive hit (-16)to ensure a full team for dbl Gw and sorting team out for rest of season too. I think it's fine but would like some feedback.

if the players you transfer in will get 4 more points over the next couple of weeks than the ones you take out then go for it.

If you feel that each move is genuinely worthwhile and will gain you points over the rest of the season then I think this is the time when a massive hit is justifiable. What moves are you planning?

Doesn't matter if it's -4 or -16 as long as you think the returns will be worth it.

So it's no secret that both City and Liverpool will rest their stars in GW35 (you can bet your house on it).

Now, what are those with 2 or 3 from each team going to be doing to their players come GW35? Are you willing to sell the likes of Coutinho and KDB even though they have a game? Or just risk the no show/1 pointer?

I'm going to stick to the bench boost plans but starting to think that being a little maverick may pay off.

On the scoutcast I was talking of swapping Bolasie and Jagielka to Lanzini and Smalling and more as a joke said or I could do Nasri and Fosu Mensah instead. But actually think I may get more from the latter two. DGWKs are all about the differentials after all. I like the fact that Nasri looks nailed for GWK 35 too and will need minutes in GWK 34 as he continues his comeback.

Going to risk Gabriel playing at least once.

Do you think Darmian will play at least once this GW? Or am I better off getting TFM?

TFM is much more solid at that position and LVG knows, so no chance for Darmian to start unless its an injury concern

Good transfers, I'm considering Delaney > Fosu Mensah - but it doesn't do me any good in sorting out my 35 line up. Still, triple MUN defense is tempting against Villa and Palace.

Why does Nasri look nailed? Navas/Silva/KDB surely all first choice for the double; Nasri might get minutes in 35 because of the UCL, but hard to see him as a viable DGW option?

    9. Laporte In A Storm
      • 10 Years

I'm with you Jonty. I've gone Toby > Fosu-Mensah. I looked hard at Nasri but for now I've gone Alli > Milner. Sticking with Kane despite only one game this week, in the hope that this plays as a bit of a differential itself - I'm assuming top 10k will play a full team of DGWers.

Good on you Jonty sticking with the BB, you know it makes sense. 😀

I think what us lot did in wildcarding to get in 14/15 DGW's was a maverick move in the first place, given it was pretty obvious rotation was always going to be a risk.

    13. Rossonero
      • 11 Years

Why do everyone think that Fosu-Mensah is nailed??

He completed more than 60mins only 2 times this season...i know he played great last couple games but its LvG we are talking about...he could rest him one game and could sub him after 45 mins in other game. Darmian, Valencia, Young all on bench, who knows what the Dutchman will do. Also he have no game in 35 and with his low price could be a problem to remove later if neccesarry.

I agree with you mate, also i don't see Nasri getting to play all 3 games in GW 34 and 35, max. 2 games. So if he is going to play 2 games why not just get someone like Alli or Eriksen who will also play 2 games?
