Mark Mark created the beast. He's now looking to tame it.

    Robles, Darlow
    Bellerin, Gabriel, Simpson, Delaney, Sakho
    KDB, Sanchez, Payet, Coutinho, Milner
    Mitrovic, Lukaku, Aguero

    1ft. 0.0m itb

Probably only got 5 definite starters. Thinking Coutinho -> Alli and Lukaku -> Kane for a hit? Worried about DGW 37 coverage, should I start planning for that instead?

Does anyone know anything about Ruth_NZ? Seems prickly but not afraid to challenge status qou thinking. Does NZ stand for New Zealand? I love Kiwis, did my honeymoon there, good honest folks, love their all blacks.

Lol, that's funny. I watched Jeopardy once and was surprised to hear that before NZ got seriously involved in the produce export game they were called Chinese Goose Berries. Which no one in their right mind would ever want to eat on a global stage.

Sitting near 6k I got first world problems. Thinking I can do one of two things. Please weigh in on your preference and tell me if I am being a total moron (I'm used to hearing it from the wife)

        1) play it conservatively here on out and just try to lean on consistency.

        2) think of GWK 35 as the start of a new season where only 5-6 teams actually will try and go nuts to staff out a team with mostly those players.

honestly..I'm now 26 clear in my classic money league and 2 clear in my H2H money league, so any gains on OR are a bonus

in classic I have Bellerin Gabriel Sanchez (c), he has Foster, Monreal, Iwobi, Sanchez (c)

So... how are people seeing the WC/BB strategy atm (pre hopefully Arsenal points haul tonight)?

A: at breakeven stage when considering the players traded out?

    B: shouldn't have bothered?

C: bring on some big Sanchez (c) points to win the DGWs?

    1. Namtab Nomolos
      • 15 Years
      10 years, 2 days ago

I started this GW at 54,803 and after tonight I'm at 54,604 so I'll go for A. Unless Sanchez scores a couple it's been treading water.

I'm sure I've overtaken thousands and thousands of teams but thousands and thousands more have overtaken me at the same time 🙂

I'm in the breakeven area atm. A decent Sanchez haul will tip the balance. Tottenham players out hurt. One guy in my league didn't do WC/BB and had Aguero capt this GW & done as well as me.

So is it fairly safe to say Coutinho will be rested this weekend? I need a guaranteed starter. (I have Milner also)

    Thinking Coutinho >
    A) Mane (nice punt)
    B) Firmino (sideways, hoping he plays false 9)
    C) Alli (boring template)
    D) Townsend (punt)

I'm definitely happier with the way it's worked out. That doesn't necessarily mean we should change our view on the WC + BB strategy generally though, good or bad. Important for next season that we don't fall into a scoreboard journalism type trap.

I agree but i think it's about moderation. This was more of an excited if you throw it all against the wall some will stick attempt. I used it as if i had saved my usual 2nd WC for standard DGW tactics. It's given me my highest score and got me to my highest ever rank. I've just seen so much negativity about it.

If you've got other decent defenders that'll likely play between now and then then might as well, if you can't free up the money elsewhere

      im having the same dilemma....

countino didn't play the bournmouth game but played and scored for the derby.

firmino played both match but managed to score once.

having that in mind i wld choose countino over firmino.

    DDG Robles
    Sakho Simpson Gabriel Bellerín Smalling
    Coutinho Milner Sánchez KDB Lanzini
    Agüero Lukaku Rashford

Got 2 FT to get a potential 11 however rotation is an issue and chasing in my mini league.
    Should I:
    a) Lukaku, DDG > Kane, Lloris
    b) Lukaku, DDG, KDB, Coutinho, Rashford > Kane, Lloris, Sturridge, Alli, 6.9mil Mid for -12

b is punting to do some catching up in ML and only way to get Sturridge + Kane is getting rid of a Liv player and funds

A if you must, B too complicated. I assume you're not looking for lots in 37?

Only players I can see for 37 with a game this GW is Chelsea players but Spurs form looks too tempting to get DGW players.

It's just both get rid of DGW players. You don't have to have loads but you're reducing them is my only worry. I wouldn't trust Chelsea either! Maybe go for a gamble with Ibe? But i understand your want. Kane looks like a need indeed. A it is.

Are either of these two a good option, folks?

    a) Rojo/Payet > Alderweireld/Alli (-4)
    b) Rojo/Payet/Martial > PVA/Alli/Sturridge (-8)

Not ideal to get rid of Payet, but will get him back by GW37...

Ahh well I have no money at all to upgrade Rojo so would need a hit in any case! Rest of team is:

          DDG, Robles
          Bellerin, Rojo, Reid, Sakho, Simpson
          Sanchez, Mahrez, Firmino, Payet, Iwobi
          Aguero, Martial, Kane

Do you want to field 11? 8 starters atm.

If you do want to field 11, something like Rojo/Payet/Martial > Rose/Alli/Pelle makes sense.

thought the same but wouldn't want to tie up funds with 2 premium GK when you'd probably end up using DDG for the remaining games and double anyway.. you'd have expensive loris just rotting there or have to use a FT to get him out later.

looking at a big transfer and so, for thoughts from you fine gents..

have 2 FT and nothing in the bank..

    DDG - Darlow
    Bellerin - Sakho - Gabriel - Clichy - Coleman
    Coutinho - Payet - Sanchez - KDB - Lanzini
    Mitrovic - Aguero - Lukaku

probably going to give Mitrovic one last chance since I don't want Defoe vs my double Arse and Rashford is blank anyways..

    I'm thinking Clichy + Coutinho + Lukaku > Rose + Alli + Kane (-4)

I'm also concerned about Sakho and KDB, a bit but eh.

    thoughts?
