I could not see Payet play yesterday. How did he do? Still's got that thrilling attacking threat potential?

Of course I am looking at GW37..

I'm not very excited about triple captaining him, tempted to go for Kane this week instead knowing he's still got everything to play for against West Brom with nothing to play for

    Team for the week:

    Lloris
    Dier Morgan Gabriel Moreno* Bertrand
    Sanchez Mahrez Coutinho*
    Aguero Kane

    Henn; Payet; Lingard; Martial

Have 11 available but don't think Coutinho or Moreno will start. Thoughts on Coutinho + Martial > Firmino + Pelle (-4)?

Chasing MLs so not too fussed about taking a punt this week.

    Morning.

Anyone care to give this a thought? Quite confused about what I should do.

    Robles Darlow
    Lovren Bellerin Gabriel Fosu-Mensah Delaney
    Sanchez Coutinho Firmino Payet Bolasie
    Agüero Lukaku Mitrovic

    1 FT, 1,4 ITB

Got nothing to fight for in the mini-league and overall having a poor season so willing to take hits. Looking to break into the top 100k at least though.

I guess Bolasie and Delaney should go at least.

    Any suggestions?

tell me about it, a goal, assist and clean sheet to Fosu Mensah's measly 1point. Won't forget this one in a hurry.

Yeah if I hadn't done any of my points hits i.e. Bolasie, Darmian and Luk out for Nasri, TFM and Martial (I was thinking him, Carroll or Sturridge and got burnt by the FFS boards and everyone who was bigging up the flattrack bully Martial)

I don't watch much of UTD so was looking for opinion from peeps on here and I got roped into the Darmian is out of favour with LVG talk, despite my view that Darmian wasn't solely to be blamed for UTD's collapse at Spurs. Anyway, I took the risk and made the switch to Fosu Mensah from Darmian and the rest is history.

I'm not blaming anyone, just myself for not following my own views on this game.

2nd place in my mini league did- that move combined with TC Bellerin (and my Sanchez cap/ owning Sturridge plus various others) caused the gap to go from 50 to 100 between me and him, and now he is in third

    Balders ruined my season!!!

Seriously though, anyone blaming other people for there own decisions is off there tree!! Balders puts up incredibly informative and useful articles and we love him for it.

On a side note, anyone pick Lovren over Sakho? Anyone else resist getting Sturridge in for Lukaku this week? My 50/50 decisions seem to be biting me on the behind and usually it'd be water off a duck's back but with my money league so close they're hurting me!!!!

    1. Cradders
      • 11 Years
      10 years, 2 months ago

Yeah my 50/50 decisions all went against me. Last minute change from Sakho to Clyne on my WC33, also dropping Alli instead of Mahrez. And in GW34 not biting the bullet for a -4 and bringing back Kane and sacking off that heap of $h!t Lukaku

Balders put out some great info in the run up. Thanks again if you're reading.

I think many of us here have learnt some harsh lessons recently. In a way I hope the chips stay in place for next season so I can make amends. There's certainly a few things I'd do differently.

There were plenty of caveats regarding picking people with lesser form; not accounting for relative fixture strength and above all rotation risks.
Really the hype machine just took over.
There's a morality tale in their akin to Jack selling the cow for magic beans.

We bought magic beans in search of the golden goose.
Having said that I'm sitting on 110 with TC Sanchez and Rondon to play.

Ballsed up my last post awfully so gonna re-explain simply (hopefully)

    A) Lukaku, Martial + Coutinho -> Kane, Sturridge + Lanzini - 4 (Play 433)
    B) Lukaku + Martial -> Kane + Defoe

    Mignolet (Robles)
    Clyne, Simpson, Huth, Gabriel (Smalling)
    Sanchez, Mahrez, Coutinho, Iwobi (Payet)
    Aguero, Lukaku (Martial)

B i would say , purely because Sturridge could now be saved for EL

Yeah that is a risk, didn't Origi start last night though and Sturridge came on? By that logic I make Sturridge the starter this weekend and Origi the starter v Villarreal.

My knowledge has been all but destroyed over the past few weeks, all advice I've given has turned against me.

Origi was stretchered off- plus Firmino could quite easily play up front this weekend and studge for semis or vice versa- basically no one knows besides Klopp

    (C) -8
    Martial - > Kane

    (D) - 12
    Martial - > Kane
    Mitro - > Long
Dann -> Rose/Walker *due to requiring funds + a player

Was just about to post the same question although I need 24 from the same 3.

A 0-0 will see them get 16 without BAPS so id say there's a good chance.

Just looking at the highest score of the week - 186 points so far, with a team that contained only 6 DGW players, and of those 6 only 3 actually started both games.

2nd season in FPL. Just logged on to best rank of 40k and best points tally of 128 (3 yet to play).
The WC, BB tactic worked out great for me in the end.@ Balders, nice one!

    Goalie dilemma:
Currently got hennessey and butland. Neither of which are playing gw 35. I've got 1 free transfer but wanted to use it to take martial out. Would you:
    A) Go without goalie for one week and then just play Hennessey until end of season

    B) Go -4 and swap out the injured Butland for a goalie that has a game in gw 35

    C) use free transfer to swap goalie and bench Martial and just play Aguero and Kane up front. Can still field 11 doing this bit with no backup on bench if Firmino or coutinio don't play

    Thanks:)

    Morning all,

So I reduced my ML Cup rivals score from a 20pt gap to a 3pt gap last night! 😀

All to play for tonight...Who wins?

    Him: Bellerin & Ozil(c) - he doesn't own Sanchez
    &
    Me: Gabriel & Sanchez(c)

How does this look? Need to bounce back after destroying my team by wildcarding.

    Martial + Coutinho + Lanzini > Kane + Alli + Mane (-8)

    Cheers

      Martial + Coutinho > Kane + Alli (-4)??

I could do just that, although that only matches my casual rival who didn't sell Kane and Alli. Lanzini did look threatening last night, so I would like to keep him, although I have good memories of Mane v Villa!

I think he starts, Wenger said himself he doesn't like to rotate his CB. Gab 1st choice IMO

interesting, i saw the quotes about preferring not to rotate too but i just feel with gabriel not pulling up any trees and Per not played for a while i always anticpated they would get one each.

We'll see, i'm hoping he does play!

Was chatting to the FPL stats guys. Looks like an error their end meant Kane was showing so low versus the actual rise that happened - https://twitter.com/fpl_statistics/status/723066275979661313

At least they are honest. FPL never open up about price changes 🙂

I didn't make my subs yesterday as they didn't look close on price change predictor, I thought it was odd both Ali and Kane hadn't gone up in price, cost me 0.2. I'm hoping that doesn't come back to bite me 🙂

For people considering whether to ditch Coutinho, also consider that Newcastle are fighting for their lives, whereas if he plays, Coutinho will be fighting to not get injured or tired.

Convinced myself to ditch whilst typing that 🙂

I actually think Sturridge will be assured good minutes. I think he needs to play alot as well just to keep him ticking over.

Payet also seems to have regressed late in the season, seems to have less zest when I've watched him recently, first long season in the PL often leaves new recruits very fatigued towards the end of the season.

9 days rest for payet now though, Still in chance of top 4. Brom next would keep one more week.
