Liverpool’s Divock Origi is set to miss the rest of the season with an ankle injury. Jose Fonte and Victor Wanyama have been passed fit for Southampton’s trip to Villa, Xherdan Shaqiri is ruled out of Stoke’s visit to City, whilst Chris Smalling has overcome a knock in time for United’s FA Cup semi-final with Everton.

Reports in the local press suggest the Divock Origi is ruled out for the season with the ankle injury sustained against Everton in midweek. The Liverpool striker will undergo further scans today to ascertain the likely length of absence.

Eddie Howe has confirmed that Harry Arter and Adam Smith will remain sidelined for the visit of Chelsea. The Bournemouth boss also indicated he will continue to ease Callum Wilson back into action after the striker was afforded a couple of sub appearances following his return from injury.

Jose Fonte and Victor Wanyama are available for Southampton’s trip to Villa after recovering from the knocks that forced both off in last week’s draw at Everton. Ronald Koeman has also confirmed that Charlie Austin remains unavailable though is close to returning from a knee problem.

Chris Smalling has shrugged off a knock picked up against Palace on Wednesday night and is available for United’s FA Cup semi-final against Everton. Adnan Januzaj remains unavailable due to a lack of match fitness.

Xherdan Shaqiri is ruled out of Stoke’s trip to the Etihad with the hamstring injury that forced him off during Monday’s loss at Spurs. Mark Hughes has revealed that Shay Given is likely to keep his place in goal, though Marc Wilson, Glen Johnson and Jon Walters are still sidelined.

Ramiro Funes Mori serves the first of a three-match ban for Everton’s FA Cup semi-final encounter against Man United. Earlier this morning, Roberto Martinez also confirmed that Gareth Barry, Phil Jagielka and John Stones are set for late assessments, though Seamus Coleman has failed to recover from a hamstring complaint.

Kieran Gibbs is a doubt for Arsenal’s trip to Sunderland after missing last night’s win over West Brom with a minor back problem.

So funny that people forget that Klopp would play Firmino as a false 9 if and when he decides to rest Sturridge.
Expect both to start this week though.

btw. Any idea why Klopp wants to play Firmino in both EL & PL instead of Cout? Both pretty important players for Pool

Think it's because Cout became "made of glass" earlier this season after his impressive performances against Chelsea and City. I think Klop is just being over cautious 🙁
Also Firm being out for a few weeks recently was kind of a "rest" I guess.

Nobody knows, doubt it will be both playing... I think Klopp prefers Firm so Id expect him to start EL, Sturridge PL... but with DS current form who knows....

Because Firm came off with 20 mins left and Sturridge started on bench. After this week it's a mine field.

Not sure of Clyne and Gabriel both starting.

5.4m for a replacement. Who would you recommend?

    Darlow
    Clyne - Bellerin - Gabriel - Simpson
    Alli– KDB - Sanchez
    Aguero – Mitrovic- Kane

Silva doesn't play two games in a week (lately) and Pelle would prefer him for CL I guess. I think that means KDB starts and Silva replaces him afer 60 min. Sterling also back from the injury, so who knows if he starts.

    Hi all...
Already set on coutinho, martial and mitro to alli, Defoe and kane for -8...

With Gabriel unlikely to play, any thoughts on Gabriel to rose for another hit?....my theory is that if Gabriel is benched again and rose plays it is effectively only a 2point hit at worst!

    Current team for gw35 is

    Darlow (robles)
    Bellerin sakho Gabriel Simpson smalling
    Kdb Sanchez alli (payet lanzini)
    Kane Kun Defoe

    Advice appreciated..thanks

I've took a -4 to get out 11 (incl Cout, Gabriel, Sakho). I'm personally just crossing my fingers and hoping for the best.

My guess is Cout gets 20-30mins (might be enough!), Gabriel gets 90 & Sakho gets 0.

So Nasri to Alli a no-brainer now.

Would you also do Ward to Rose or Simpson -4

    Leave me with:
    Darlow
    Rose/Simpson Bellerin Sakho
    Alli Milner Ozil Mahrez
    Kane Aguero Sturridge

    DDG, Gabriel, PAyet, TFM

    Bit of a mess really
