    Which defenders are best to buy for the DGW37?

    I have a MUN def. Thinking Ogbonna as I cannot afford Cresswell. Or is another WHM defender better?
    PvA also tempts me..

        Straight swap and has a goal in him.

        I'll buy him - but shall await news on Sakho, if he gets benched for Europa, then is deemed to be OK and not banned, he'll be back in the squad, so may play both in the DGW...

    How much do I need Sanchez? currently own Ozil and Iwobi however I have concerns over Iwobi game time.

    Only way to fit him in is Aguero >> Carroll and Iwobi >> San(C)hez by doing this I would have Mahrez as 1st sub if Firmino or Sturridge fail to make Swans game.
    Thoughts?

    Front 8
    Firmino Payet SANCHEZ Ozil (Mahrez)
    CARROLL Sturridge Kane

    Decided to save FT.

    Think I may do Kane to Christmas Carroll, and one of my SGW defenders (if Sakho is unbanned) to PvA

    Should get 9 DGW'ers without a hit :).

    If I need to punt may also do Aguero to Defoe or something ludicrous.

        I think Aguero has this motivation, Kane was well off the pace today. Once the PL is out the window and UCL is secured, I think Spurs could go off the boil a little. Not sure though.

        I have a bet on Aguero TGS. So would appreciate him doing well in the last few games of the season!

    Who are the prime Triple Captain candidates for those who still hold it?

    Carroll GW37?
    Defoe GW37?
    Sturridge when Origi is out, and Benteke is back sounds like rotation in the PL to me...

    Cannot really see any other good candidates...

        If it's a nothing game - I think Villa may actually have some motivation. A) to show other teams they can play football B) it'll be their last PL game for a while.

      If Hazard is looking good against Spurs on the back of his brace last week, could be a big differential with real fantasy pedigree. Costa likewise.

    Good morning DZ.

    Really confused between Ighalo and Deeney.

    Ighalo;

    - 15 goals, 6 assists.
    - Scored 5 goals and 2 assists against their next 4 opponents.
    - More explosive.
    - 2 goals in the last15 GWs.

    Deeney;

    - 9 goals, 8 assists.
    - 2 goals and 3 assists against their next 4 opponents already.
    - On pens.
    - 4.5% ownership.
    - 3 goals in the last 15 GWs.

    Not feeling Defoe or Carroll. Want a Watford forward. Who is better? Or at least more nailed on to start the next 3?

    Thanks.

          I'm very worried tbh. I think we've got the belief to survive, and I think we'll give ourselves a chance by winning the next 2, but it's out of our hands, and I can see Sunderland getting points in all of their remaining matches.

          McLaren was sacked too late, and though the revival has come, and I'm so grateful that it has, I think it might just be too late.

    What to do with this pile of rubbish. 3.3 million GW rank, OR doubled, out of the top 10K and down to a 10 point lead in a cash league worth 3 grand. Nervous times.

    Darlow | Robles
    Bellerin | Smalling | Sakho* | Gabriel* | Delaney*
    Sanchez | KDB* | Coutinho* | Alli* | Milner
    Aguero | Kane | Mitrovic*

    1FT, 0.1 itb

    Vaguely I'm thinking:

    GW36: Coutinho + Alli + Sakho --> Payet + Lanzini + PvA (-8)
    GW37: KDB + Mitrovic + Gabriel/Delaney --> Hazard + Defoe + Cresswell (-8)

    Anyone got any other ideas?

      Lanzini might be benched if Antonio reverts back to his attacking flank position. Also, D Sakho might have to fight it out with Lanzini if Payet is in the hole.

      Bench Alli this week to save your benching problems, and sell Mitrovic first? Wouldn't go near to Hazard imo

        Hazard is a wait and see, pending the match against Spurs. If he looks decent, I'll buy him, if he doesn't I'll steer clear.

        So you reckon Antonio is more nailed? Could work.

        As for who to sell this week, the way I see it Alli, KDB, Coutinho are all unlikely to play. Milner also a substantial doubt. Whereas, Mitrovic is almost certainly going to see minutes off the bench (and I still hold out hope that Rafa sees sense and starts him).

          The returns matter. I see that you are not considering Carroll and your arch rival Defoe?

            I'd rather not get Defoe from a personal standpoint, but he's currently pencilled in for GW37. Carroll is an option but doesn't really fit if I'm buying 2 West Ham mids this week.

              Cresswell and Carroll have worked well which gave the latter more goals if you notice closely. However they would be against WBA this week so I am hesitating.

              I was looking to remove Long and Kun for both Carroll and Defoe but Alli had to create trouble for me and I think I can't even bring PvA in for this week. 🙁

            Its not a bad call, he is a little Suarez like in his style and he's playing Norwich. Didn't really factor in how much playing on the RW really changed things but I did notice his form was on the up but you're right, was still a 50/50 call at the time.

        Willian and Pedro aren't bad bets either but I'm 0.1 short of Pedro and Willian is probably most likely to get rotated. I think the big guns such as Hazard, Costa and Fabregas have a point to prove at this end of the season. They'll get the starts.

      I hadn't really thought of Fabregas, because I bought it was going to be time for all the kids, but that looks worth it, unless you have a non-player they you need to be addressing. Sanchez is worth it over Ozil, and maybe for a hit, but not if there are other concerns.

        There are other squad issues such as Sakho and Gabriel but I'm happy to have them benched this week. My front 8 are mostly sure starters really bar KDB, Milner and Sturridge (possible rotation). So I can afford 1 not to start and have an auto sub ready.

      Man, you have a good team (compare with the glut of non-players below)

      No hit is necessary, unless you think Cout and KDB are cup only and fancy a -4. Cout has a double, so that's in his favor, and KDB at that price and not nailed... Granted, I have both and Sakho and Gabriel, Mitro, Loftus, so I'm way more f'd.

    In sort of dire straits, FPL-wise.

    Robles/Darlow
    Bellerín Gabriel Mangala Delaney Sakho
    Sanchez KDB Coutinho Payet Loftus-Cheek
    Aguero Kane Mitrovic

    Sakho has to go. Gabriel and LC benchable. Want to do Mitro to Defoe. Cout or KDB might be better invested.

    Any help much appreciated. I'm looking at one hit at least. Ahead in my MLs by 70 or so, but more interested in final OR.

      Sakho to a Sunderland defender looks an easy fix but you could probably get away with benching him this week and focusing on removing Coutinho. Best to see how much european time he gets though. I think Mitrovic out should be the priority, consider Defoe or Carrol

        I agree. Mitro to Defoe. Cout to kind of anyone that's nailed. Alli the cheapest, Mahrez. Avoiding more Liverpool for the double, which is a bummer. I think they'd be excellent if there were more certainty.

    Just going to put this out there but its worth considering keeping the likes of Sakho and/or Gabriel and simply let them rot on the bench. They are cheap enough. Focus your transfers on the starting 11, particularly attacking players and DGWers.

    Bit of Budgie Research

    A) How many hits do you plan to take between now and the end including GW38?
    B) How many DGWers will you have in 37?

    I have 6 at the moment. 7 with no hits. I may go for 9, so a -8 before 37.

    Mine are Robles PVA Rojo Lanzini Milner Sturridge.

    Need to look at the hits not only for 37 but over 36/37/38

    1. Eden Hazardous

      One of the things I've learned in recent weeks is to make sure I get the right players and not focus too much on the quantity of DGWers or hits. My energies will go towards that end I think. I should end up on 8DGWers for a 1 hit.

          The ones that I don't have would include

          Sanchez (despite no DGW, he has Nor and Avl)
          Fabregas/Hazard/Pedro (take your pick)
          United defender (ideally Smalling if affordable)

          I'd say 2 Hammers are necessary too, I've got that already sorted though. Strikers are a bit all over the show, you could argue that Aguero, Sturridge and Kane are worth having from now on in despite Defoe and Caroll looking alright.

            Fabregas over Payet? Too punty maybe because I am 14pts behind in money and everyone and his dog has Payet, not a good one to take a risk on. But with Alli most likely out I can upgrade him instead of lose Ozil which is nice. Have Sanchez too. United defender I have Rojo. Aguero and Sturridge with most likely Defoe over Watford.

                PVA Smalling Rojo (Rose, Simpson)
                Lanzini Fabregas Payet Sanchez Milner
                Sturridge Aguero (mitrovic)

                for -8

                  That's losing Ozil, possibly getting him back for 38

                  Looks good to me. Not sure about carrying Mitrovic though.

                    Yes. It's a problem. I need to rework until I have a 3-4-3 I'm happy with.

                    Thanks for your thoughts

      4 hits in the next 2 weeks it seems, to complement the 2 hits I've already had to make since my GW33 wildcard...disaster.

      4 hits would take me to 9 DGWers, 3 hits would get me to 8, assuming Sakho doesn't miraculously revive himself.

      I'd very hesitantly say: Robles, PvA, Smalling, Cresswell, Payet, Antonio, Milner, Hazard, Defoe

        If you'd told me 3 weeks ago that that was what my GW37 side might look like...ahaha

        You have Milner! Nice.
        If Alli is banned this has added to the mix. I like the idea of Fabregas actually. Wouldn't be able to afford Hazard

        Robles will be a disaster against Lei in dgw37
        It's only against Sunderland that helps him if Sunderland's attack is weak

          Yes it's not ideal but ....he has BOU and NOR either side of 37, and with DGWs you never know...so he just about survives. Would rather have Mannone but can't justify a hit for that

      Payet and defo will be affordable
      Also consider Deeney (Villa+double), Pedro/Fabregas (but after next game)

    Guys, my team is in a right mess.

    What would you do here? Pelle, Cout & KDB look risky, but with 3 potential non-starters in defence, I'm thinking one of those needs to go, perhaps for a WAT/EVE defender (fixtures and a double). Sakho & Fosu have doubles and Gabriel seems to have lost his place, so...

    A) Gabriel -> Nyom
    B) Sakho -> Jags

    Robles
    Bellerin, Simpson, Gabriel*
    Sanchez, KDB*, Cout*, Alli
    Aguero, Kane, Pelle*

    Darlow, Lanzini, Sakho*, Fosu*
    Bank 0.7m, 1FT

      I'd rather a Sunderland defender

      Agree with Ryan, defo need some of that Sunderland defence. Nyom I owned most of the season and he would get random rests every now and then. I wouldn't. Jags I wouldn't either, I thought he aggravated his hammy in the cup game?

    With ARS having to battle for 3rd spot now, and the coming fixtures, Alexis seems to be a must and perfect captain material for the coming GW.
    Would you take a hit for
    Ozil + Mangala >> Alexis + Prodl/Cathcart?

    Team is as follows;
    Cech - DDG
    Mangala - Flanagan* - Evans - Bellerin - Rojo
    Ozil - Mahrez - Payet - Milner - Townsend
    Kun - Kane - Deeney

      If you can avoid Prodl/Cathcart then yes. Sunderland defender affordable?

        Hmm.. imho Watford DEF will score more than Sunderland's..
        People only considering PVA for his attacking play but a look at the fixtures puts me off.

        Problem is who to choose from Watford?

          Watford are mid table, could be rotation there which is the issue. Personally I'd look at the cheap alternatives to PVA from Sunderland.
