We continue our series of members’ articles, which review the numbers behind the 2015/16 season, with a look at Southampton.

To get underway, we assess the Saints’ team statistics in Ronald Koeman’s final year in charge and compare them to the rest of Premier League, before analysing their first-team squad, main goal threats and creative sources in an attempt to gain insight on their prospects for the upcoming campaign.

The Saints finished in sixth position after embarking on a superb run of form that harvested seven wins and a draw in the final nine league fixtures.

      Fabregas maybe, but its 50/50 whether Chelsea actually score goals this season.
      Baines definitely not if he's not on pens or set pieces anymore/still. Mirallas tends to take set pieces away from him and last seasons pens were spread out away from him. Hopefully Koeman improves their defence significantly because it was in absolute shambles.

      If Fabregas is a regular under the new manager he will be gold dust.With Matic and Kante behind him he should be playing well forward.Its a case of watching preseason and hoping.

    I really like the look of Holebas, as he is very attacking, but with doubts about whether he will start I like that Watford have an awful opening

    Means I am not tempted now and have a chance to see if he's a starter

    Willian (7.5m) and Coutinho (8.0) could be really good value

    Willian playing in a top team with no Europe and is the best set piece taker in the squad. Will be fresh every week and likely to rack up the assists. Just waiting to see how he fits in with Conte

    Coutinho could be put in the hole with Mane at Liverpool, giving him the freedom to roam almost like a second striker. Firmino might be back out wide or cover in a false 9 position for when Sturridge inevitably gets injured.

      Yeah, Cout does have those very quiet spells though. Firm is likely to be a more consistent and stable point source you would think, and is very similarly priced at 8.5.

      Cout won't have a free role if they are playing Mane, Firm, and Studge either.

    anyone going for snodgrass at 5.5. i think he's really good value, he's had prem experience and was a really key player for norwich at one point. he hogs free kicks corners and should be hull's top scoring player this season, injury permitting

      Horrible fixtures though and I dont see Hull scoring many goals. Bolasie is only 6.0 more and he's a much more promising pick IMO

      Midfield is weak. I would cut Kane and Hazard to cheaper options for your midfield. Sigurdsson and Eriksen look better.

      Conte had him at Juve when on loan, and has stated that he trusts him.

      He will get opportunities, but it's too risky for me mate.

        Conte never had him at Juve, but he likes Cuadrado a lot. A big reason why he left Juve was because he couldn't get players like Cuadrado that he wanted.
