We continue our series of members’ articles, which review the numbers behind the 2015/16 season, with a look at Southampton.

To get underway, we assess the Saints’ team statistics in Ronald Koeman’s final year in charge and compare them to the rest of Premier League, before analysing their first-team squad, main goal threats and creative sources in an attempt to gain insight on their prospects for the upcoming campaign.

The Saints finished in sixth position after embarking on a superb run of form that harvested seven wins and a draw in the final nine league fixtures.

      Very very tough. Atleast martial is proven and he can play upfront, he has to edge it for that reason but only if both are completely nailed? Rooney could threaten martial game time

        yeah, Kun + KdB is too much. In my mind my premium mid spot is between Silva, Nolito and Hazard.

        Hazard is the heaviest but unsure on how hes going to get on under Conte.

        Feel like Silva is the safest, Pep will love him, but hes not really a heavy scorer like Haz and KdB.

    The 6.5M strikers are really quite average and you have to pay up to 9M just to get a Lukaku or Giroud.

    If playing 4-5-1 I don't want to lose a bunch of value on 2 bench strikers so I'm looking for a 5.0M striker with potential.
    Surely Barrow and the beast Sanogo are the closest matches to the criteria?

              If they sign Tekkers i'd be getting Zaha and Tekkers. I've witnessed Zaha with a full season of someone who could convert a decent cross, deadly.

            Yes thats what most of us Palace fans expecting. Both Townsend and Zaha looked good in our last friendly in the US, with Townsend and Zaha linking up well (Townsend actually assisted for Zaha's goal)

          Ayew isn't the immediate issue, he could be good, but yes, Eriksen or even Siggy would be a preferred option generally on here. How much is iwobi? And if you're gonna play Azpi, Shaw and Monreal every week then that's still a little too pricey but atleast put 2 4 or 4.5's on the bench, not jags
