We continue our series of members’ articles, which review the numbers behind the 2015/16 season, with a look at Southampton.

To get underway, we assess the Saints’ team statistics in Ronald Koeman’s final year in charge and compare them to the rest of Premier League, before analysing their first-team squad, main goal threats and creative sources in an attempt to gain insight on their prospects for the upcoming campaign.

The Saints finished in sixth position after embarking on a superb run of form that harvested seven wins and a draw in the final nine league fixtures.

      Like the Terry pick, bargain at 5.5. Bit light in midfield, so downgrade Ibra. Frontline is way too expensive. But if you think the mids are good value fair enough.

      Struggling to make a decent team with both Kun and Zlatan. I have the same backline except Foster for Cech. Not sure if I'm a fan of your midfield, I've managed to get Hazard, Firmino and Siggy at the expensive of two £4.5m mids...

    Whoever designs web-sites clearly hates people. FPL's is one of the worst I've experienced. 15 minutes of picking a first draft - in which time every decision is met with an "are you sure?" question, I accidentally press reset. No confirmation needed there!!

    I tell you, these site designers truly loathe us all. We should stop all technology subsidies now until they learn how to design user-friendly sites

      one thing i've noticed is that on the whole it does run more smoothly, i remember the old version used to have delay on my computers when bringing up individual player info, not had that with the new site.

      Overall I don't really like the look of it much though, if anything looks cheaper than it did before

      Only one. And no quicker fullbacks at the back with one CB. Conte's 3-5-2 is that: 3 CBs, 1DM with 2 fullbacks at one line. 2 creative midfielders and 2 forwards.

          I think Lei will still be solid at the back. Don't think they'll score as much though. Plus he's a BAPS monster and very attacking and on set pieces. For me, he's the modern day Baines.

    I think last season really spoilt us. Got into a habit of being able to pick anyone we wanted, without worrying about funds.
    Different story now. I logged on, picked 7 players I wanted, and then struggled to even autofit the next 8! I've never seen my defence as bad as this:

    DDG (Jaku)
    Baines, Williams (Paredes, Fry, Lenihan)
    Shaqiri, Mkhi, Cesc, Ozil (Fletcher)
    Aguero, Zlatan, Rhodes.

    No room to rotate or upgrade currently so I'm going to have to decimate. So it's looking like losing Zlatan for the good of the team. *cry*
